Beautiful and easy to install. Happy I got the black color as it looks more upscale than the white one, which can look a bit more clinical.Very good quality built and the magnetic auto closure seems to work great. I like that it swings open both ways.Just got it so too soon to say how long it will last.One thing to note is that the pet door opening is quite small, the kittens that Iâm fostering are only about 5 to 6 pounds and you can see how theyâre fitting in the door in the picture. I think it will probably fit a cat up to 10 to 13 pounds but I donât think it will fit bigger cats a.k.a. Maine coons.
Perfect gate for separating cats and dogs
I foster animals and needed something to keep everyone safe at the top of my stairs, including myself. This was easy to install, sturdy and is holding up to being used multiple times/day. The cats can get away when the dogs are rambunctious, without obstacles, and the dogs remain in areas where they are welcome ð. Itâs a win!

Great gate
Great quality, stays put. Keeps the golden retriever away from the cat food/litter. Easy open and close. I thought I ordered white though and I received black. I couldnât be bothered exchanging.
Very good quality
Iâm so glad I decided to get a more expensive gate because the quality difference is substantial compared to the cheaper brand I previously bought. This gate is extremely sturdy and well made. Considering itâs being used at the top of the stairs to keep my baby safe, getting something solid was important and this gate delivered. Easy to install and very secure.
Not impressed
I purchased two of these gates. They were expensive but I liked the cat door and that they were pressure mounted. I installed the gates as directed. I watched all the videos and read the instructions. Both gates did not stay in place. The gate at the top of the stairs actually popped off the wall with the spindle rods actually popped off the wall and projected down the stairs (no one was near the gate at the time) – thankfully no one was in the direct line of fire. This could have hurt a child or pet. I have contacted the company through a series of emails and phone calls and was told I didn’t install properly. I have followed all instructions. I would NOT recommend these gates. I am very disappointed in my purchase. This cost me $250 – what a waste of money!! DO NOT BUY THESE GATES – they don’t work and customer service is not good (if you call the phone number on their website it doesn’t even say who you are calling!)
Great Gate
This was purchased to keep a 20 lb dog recently diagnosed with IVDD from running down and up stairs. I looked around a lot before settling and am very happy with the product. I like that the width of the people door is wider than that of many other gates – about 23″- making it fairly easy to pass through while carrying things. The gate needs to sit at a bit of an angle at the top of the stairs here due to the wall/railing/baseboard configuration and the first time we set it up, it lasted only a few days before it collapsed in pieces. I think I contributed to that by putting a little pressure on it while coming through the gate. That was corrected by adding Wall Nanny wall protectors, also ordered from Amazon, and with the added support the gate has worked smoothly for the past 2 weeks. I’ve given 4 stars for installation and assembly as it is a little tricky and took 2 of us to figure it out. The instructions are pretty good and there are helpful videos online. I recommend this product.
Works great for my cat and dogs
Perfect solution to keep my blind dog from falling down the stairs and still letting my fat cat get through without having to make the big leap. Love how it swings both ways and closes on its own. It was a little tricky installing since it was almost too small with the extensions but too big with. But figured it out in the end

I don’t normally leave Amazon reviews, but I feel like i should in this case. I have ordered this gate two separate times. The first gate was as pictured. I give it 5 stars. It was easy to set up, easy to open, and keeps my Anatolian shepherd puppy out of the bedroom and gives elderly Persian cat sanctuary. It worked so well that I decided to get a second gate so my cat could also flee to the game room and to keep my Warhammer army safe from the puppy. However, the second gate was not the same as the first one. While it also was easy to install, the method of opening was completely different. It requires you to hold the buttons and lift up which is very inconvenient. My wife has to use two hands to open it herself. The second gate I would give 3 stars to, so I’ll split the difference and settle on 4 stars overall. If you get this item, I hope you get the first gate that I got.
This gate isnât great in the widest setting. It can be easily knocked over in that mode. But itâs great in a standard doorway or stairwell! And my massive mainecoon can even squeeze through the opening! It doesnât hurt that itâs an attractive gate too.
The instructions being mostly tiny pictures, and just figure it out for yourself is the reason for four stars. Once I figured out how everything works, it came together and looks and functions wonderfully.
