Short lived!
This worked so well for two baths and then died! New batteries didnât revive it
Quick read, seems accurate, no manual switch, only automatic on/off via sensors
This bath thermometer automatically turns on when the two sensors on the bottom contact water simultaneously. e.g. you can turn it on by touching both sensors with a wet finger. But there is no manual on/off switch.The thermometer will stay on when it’s in water but turns off very quickly when the sensors are dry and it doesn’t appear as though it will eat through batteries.It runs on 2 LR44/357 batteries which come preinstalled, as well as including an additional pair of spare batteries. The battery compartment unscrews using a coin or similar device (no tiny annoying screws.)It displays temperature in celcius only, giving readings in 0.1 degree increments. There is also a colour coded water drop icon in the lower right corner of the display indicating if the water temperature is in the safe range for a baby (and, to a lesser extent, you.) Blue – too cold, green – correct temperature range 36-39 C, red – too hot.The material of the otter mould is rather hard. Not a soft squishy silicone but rather a somewhat hard plastic.With some effort, the thermometer part can be popped out of the otter’s stomach – so maybe keep it away from your older kids if that sounds like something they might do. It can be pushed back in, of course.

This is a great product idea. What it provides over a normal thermometer:- Continuous temperature readings instead of one time, making sure the temperature stays within the desired range continuously as the water cools off or as more water is added.- Pretty much instant water temperature readings as soon as you throw it in, instead of waiting several seconds.- Cute floating seal design for kids to enjoy, rather than weird pointy object.Overall the experience using it is great. At first I was a little confused because there were no buttons on the device to activate it, but then I decided to just put it in the water to test it out, and sure enough it activated right away. It’s smart to have a water sensor built in so you don’t even have to turn it on or off. Pretty convenient and nifty little device. And did I mention, the floating seal design is adorable? Also, nice of them to include an extra pair of batteries just in case. I got this as a gift for an upcoming babyshower and was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of the reasons.That aside, the design is very cute and works pretty well. It gets on once in touch with water and stops indicating the temperature when dried. It comes already with batteries and includes an extra set.
