Baby Monitor VM65-2

I’ve had these cameras for 7 months and I absolutely love them! I purchased a 2 camera set but only 1 camera was functional. The other would not pair to my system, I reached out to customer support and a replacement was sent to me to resolve the situation. I sent back the faulty camera and now have 3 cameras that work GREAT!I love that it has 2 options for monitoring, a handheld device, and an app on your phone! This is excellent because it allows access to the mobile app from your cell phones, and allows for multiple people to access and view.There are two mobile view options, and I’ll take a quick moment to elaborate because I was stumped at first. One option allows 15 minute viewing access if you want to share a security key with someone, for example, if you’re hosting a play date and you want to give other parents an option to view one of the cameras. It would be awesome if they could allow for you to customize the time limit they can view, but from what I’ve figured out, it expires in 15 min.The other option, to view from yourMobile device indefinitely, requires a passcode to be emailed to the user, and shared with the other devices you have logged in. I’ve used my system with 2 users on 3 different devices seamlessly!I love the magnetic feature of the cameras and bases because it allow you to move easily from place to place.I can’t find this model anymore or I would buy more sets for all of the upcoming baby showers!

Bottom line: it randomly turns off, chirps randomly and incessantly from interference and is much quieter than the previous model and has no cross compatability with other 65 connect series monitors.We bought this originally to add to our old 65 Connect series monitor we got back in 2022, but since learned that this is a new generation that uses completely new software/app despite the hardware seeming identical. The cameras and display are not cross-compatible and use different apps all together (not sure who thought Motorola needed so many baby monitors using different apps). I will admit the new app and software make setting up and pairing the cameras way easier, that is where the imrpovement stops. The cameras appear to be the same as the old model and are fine, the display however is awful. Dispite appearing the same as the old model, this one is significantly quieter to the point we have to keep the volume all the way up when sleeping to hear even though the camera is mounted right over our crib. The monitor turns off randomly without warning or indication. When you turn the monitor on, it initally loads with an old image which can be confusing but it will update to the live feed after a few seconds. The most frustrating part and reason to drive this review it that it randomly goes through cycles of chirping every few seconds. I assume this is caused by interference from something else in the house running the same frequencies, but Motorola should have done a better job with the shielding or have a filter installed to help eliminate noise caused by common house hold electronics. DO NOT BUY IT. Heed the warnings of the other reviewers on here. Buy something besides motorola.
