Just click the protective cap off, turn on, wait for screen to flash through red, yellow, green and show settings, press read temperature button, bring to forehead guided by yellow light–in seconds an accurate temperature reading highlighted green, yellow or red if a fever. Conveniently if you have a baby, this thermometer can take the temperature of bath water or food.

No confidence in product . . .
Product shipped on-time, appeared to be unopened and new (unlike some other reviews). There was a product model mismatch though. I received the BNT400CA which appeared to be very similar. HOWEVERâand my reason for a 1-star ratingâI could NOT get consistent readings. Readings were all over the map, and this did NOT instill confidence. So I picked up another Braun model, same day from a local store. Itâs a model BNT100CAV1 and I am very pleased with it! Very simple to use, but most importantâCONSISTENT and repeatable readings!
Accurate, but takes 10 seconds to ready after power on
I have no other thermometer so I cannot compare the reading of the body temperature.But I used the food & bath mode to test the water temperature twice, the reading was the same as my room temperature thermometer. So I believe it’s accurate.It’s a good machine, easy to use, and accurate, also the measurement speed just only 2 seconds.But there is an annoying thing, the time to be ready to use after powering on is up to 10 seconds.It shows the age mode couple of seconds even though I already locked the age for adult, then the previous temperature reading for another couple of seconds. Then when it’s ready to do the measurement, 10 seconds have already passed.Other thermometers I used before were just only 2-3 seconds. Not sure if it has a way to speed it up.
