  1. So much fun for toddlers with adult ST.E.M. guidance
For a life-long teacher with a special interest in pre and early school play-based learning, this set of 4 wooden dinosaur puzzle/model kits held an immediate attraction. Note that the kits require “first play” adult supervision in setting them up for later unsupervised child play. Why so? Because the kits contain small plastic pegs that must be installed in the wooden pieces INSTEAD of finding their way into young mouths. The plastic pegs do represent a choking hazard, so adult/parent involvement is essential. Also, the application of the artwork stickers requires adult guidance at the very least. Each dinosaur kit contains beautifully-crafted and finished wooden “body parts” and pegs to attach them all together. The assembly diagrams, however, are rather small -perfectly useful for an adult but probably too small for little eyes and hands to work from. Perhaps the occasional kindergarten-aged child will be able to work from them on his/ her own, but they are too small for toddlers to understand. Too bad; there’s a missed learning opportunity there. Each kit comes with colourful permanent decorative transfers. Toddlers will not be able to work solo with these so parental involvement is required. After the transfers are installed they should stay in place for the life of the toy. Young children enjoy being consulted on selection and aligning of the appropriate transfers; this is part of the learning/teaching experience even if the child’s eye/hand dexterity skills are not sufficiently developed to allow for completely independent transfer installation. After assembling the kits completely, and again depending on the skill level and age of the child, subsequent and less highly supervised play periods will be possible. I recommend keeping each dinosaur kit in a separate zip-close plastic bag for young children; when they grow older and more experienced, parents can combine kits in one bag and challenge/reward youngsters to find the right pieces, or even intentionally mix them up to make “funny dinos”.”S.T.E.M.”, an acronym used by many educators, is too limited for this set of puzzle dinosaurs; I prefer “S.T.E.A.M.”: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics. Teaching & learning opportunities abound in each of these core learning areas with these dionsaur kits. How do the Arts fit in? Story-making opportunities will spring up with every new assembly. I know my very imaginative grandson will create names for his puzzles and together we will create adventure stories for them.Overall comment: if you are willing to spend time with your pre-schooler or young child playing with this set of 4 wooden dinosaur kit puzzles, they will do much more than pay for themselves through entertainment. They will become important developmental learning tools… as well as good fun. I highly recommend them.

  2. I wish they didn’t use stickers
These are great little puzzle pieces for a child to play with. But first, it does require an adult to insert plastic plugs into each block and also stickers to be applied. Each of the wooden blocks are well rounded and sanded smoothly to prevent any splinters. But my child did enjoy playing with these and mixing pieces to create different creatures!I just wished that the graphics was painted onto the blocks instead of stickers to increase the longevity. Also, these are very expensive for the number of puzzles that are in the box.

  3. Small, but nicely made with fine details
This is a very nice set of wooden blocks, which comes with a total of 29 pieces – 26 letter blocks and three “castle” pieces. While I wish the blocks were a bit larger, they are nicely finished and therefore fun to use. Each block has two different letters on it, located on the opposite sides of the block. There are also four images on each block, with two images associated with each letter. For example, in the pictures I took, on one side of the block is an “N” and there are illustrations of a nut and a nail, while on the other side is a “K” with illustrations of a key and a kite. The letters are all carved cleanly and coloured in bright, appealing colours. The images appear to be wood burnings, but they’re well done with a nice level of detail. Each of the three castle pieces has a series of cutouts, large enough to hold a block, as well as grooves that you can rest more blocks in. In addition to being straight up construction options, the cut outs allow you to create simple two and three letter words which provides another option for play. While I wish the blocks were a bit bigger, I give full credit for the level of finish and the care taken with the illustrations. The castle pieces are a nice touch and certainly provide some extra playability in terms of building structures. At full price this is a good value set, but even more so when they offer a discount (which it has at the time of this writing). So, if you’re looking for some all-wood building blocks these are worth getting.

  4. Wooden building blocks
I love any toys that have to do with building. I had a set of these but, they ended up getting wet and I needed to get rid of them. The grand kids thought it would be fun to put them in the pool which isn’t good for wood. So don’t put these in water so you know. These are made of wood, sanded and painted very nicely. There were no slivers and the edges are very smooth to the touch as they are finished really nicely. The set comes with 26 blocks with each letter of the alphabet, and the other sides with pictures. There are also 3 wooden building structures that can be used with the blocks I guess they are like castles. They teach hand eye coordination, balance, and imagination. My 2 year old grand daughter doesn’t build much but she is learning colors so they are great for color recognition too. She likes to put the blocks in the slots in the buildings and tries to get them to balance. My 3 year old grandson likes to build towers until they fall over and that’s fun for him.I love the set it’s fun and simple with lots of potential to help kids learn and grow as well as learn basic construction once they are old enough snd grasp how to build so the structure doesn’t fall over. This will be a part of my building play sets for a long time to come just don’t get them wet.

  5. Fun and Creative Dinosaur Puzzle, But Requires Prep Work
Pros:🌈 Super colorful with solid wood, and no weird smell!🦖 Encourages kids to get creative and learn about dinosaurs. They can mix and match dinosaurs for extra fun!Cons:📌 Didn’t expect it to be stickers, so I had to prep before playtime—quite a bit of extra work!💸 It’s pricey compared to other STEM toys, not very fancy, and requires too much preparation.

  6. Fun for teaching colors, good size for small hands.

  7. This is a sweet little block set for 18 months and older (according to the package). The colors are bright and fun, and it has a castle layout that is like a puzzle to make things more interesting than just having squares with numerals and letters. Speaking of numerals – the package indicates that it has “numberals” – another one of those made in China issues with translation, or maybe just needs some proofreading?

  8. This is an A-Z series of alphabet blocks with three structure-like pieces (almost like one wall of a house). You could support the wall pieces with some blocks behind and the kids push blocks through the holes and such; they’d have a good time of it (or more realistically, just push it all over and laugh…)The blocks themselves are about 1in cubes with the letters appearing to be CNC etched to stand out against the background. On the other surfaces there are laser-etched pictures of plants, fruit, or butterflies, or such. The color is only on the letter side. The overall build quality is nice and they seem quite durable. It’s a low-tech solid toy that’ll last a long time.

  9. These wooden building blocks are a fantastic addition to any toddler’s toy collection! The ABC and animal-themed blocks are not just fun to stack but also help with learning letters, animal names, and basic building skills. They’re sturdy and easy to grip, perfect for little hands, and the bright, cheerful colors keep kids engaged for hours. Plus, the blocks are safe and non-toxic, which gives peace of mind. I love that they can be used for creative play and learning at the same time.Highly recommend these as a thoughtful gift that’s both fun and educational for preschoolers!

  10. Ordered these blocks because both of my kids love to play with the blocks at their nana’s house and I haven’t been disappointed. They love these things. They build and knock them over again and again. I think these will get hours upon hours of use. One of the best things that I have ordered in a long time. I would highly recommend these blocks.
