This duvet is the same in almost every way, except it has a higher thread count, making for a softer, quieter shell.
Microfiber Down Alternative Duvet
Twin: 64″ x 86″, 45 oz Fill. Double: 78″ x 86″, 56 oz Fill. Queen: 88″ x 90″, 65 oz Fill. King: 102″ x 90″, 74 oz Fill.
This is a microfiber-filled duvet. Microfiber is a polyester material designed to mimic the properties of down as closely as possible, made up of fine, delicate strands. The shell is 260 thread count cotton, which is crisp and durable. It makes a rustling noise when it moves! For softer, quieter fabric, try the Gel Microfiber Duvet, which has a higher thread count. This duvet is generously filled. Microfiber doesn’t have the same insulating properties as down, so microfiber duvets are heavier weight – we need a fair bit of fill to achieve the desired warmth. This duvet comes in All Season Weight, which works well for room temperatures around 16 – 18 degrees C or if you’re fairly cool when you sleep.

The shell features 4 corner loops and box construction for keeping the fill evenly distributed.

This is a microfiber duvet! How does a microfiber duvet compare to a down duvet? There are 4 main differences:
Look and Feel of the fill: Down consists of clusters of light, fluffy filaments growing from a central point. It is very airy and delicate. Microfiber is soft and plush, but denser than down, and traps less air.Loft: Down quality is measured by loft (AKA fill power). This measurement is not used for microfiber products.Warmth & Weight: Down has excellent insulating properties, so down duvet are quite light. It doesn’t take much fill to provide a lot of warmth. Microfiber doesn’t have the same insulating properties, so feather duvets are heavier. It takes more feather to achieve the same amount of warmth.Cost: Down is a scarcer, higher-performance material than microfiber, so it is far more expensive. Microfiber is more affordable!

Warm, puffy duvet
Over the years I’ve had goose down duvets and synthetics – I love the light weight of goose down, and the warmth of course, but have been disappointed so often because the down has drifted out to the sides, leaving nothing in the middle, so I was in quite a quandary about what to buy for this coming winter. Anyway, I decided on this one, not just because it is Canadian, although I’m always happy to promote a good Canadian product, but I guess I took the other reviews to heart and went for it. I have to say I have absolutely no regrets about my choice – I’ve had it for two months and just love that it is very puffy, really warm, and it is also lightweight, just like goose down. I can’t tell how warm it will be during a normal Canadian winter but the way it keeps me warm now (it’s been down to freezing a couple of times so far) I am sure it will be fine. I don’t heat my bedroom very much and only when it’s really cold outside, so my duvet has to do a good job of keeping me warm. Actually, if anything it is too warm at the moment, but I’d rather be too warm than cold. I have it inside a duvet cover and note that the company says on the care instructions that it shouldn’t need to be washed for five years if it is always used inside a cover, which is really nice to know. So, for anyone else out there who is trying to choose between duvets, I’d say go for this one, it really is fantastic. I’ve also noticed that some people wonder whether a duvet is “noisy” – well, some things are noisy, such as lawn tractors, motorbikes, air conditioners, but a duvet cannot be noisy – there is just a slight rustling sound when you move it, that’s it.Update, end March 2021. Well, the duvet has now been in daily use over a Canadian winter (well, winter isn’t over yet but will be soon I hope) and I can confirm that it kept me warm every night, even when it was -20 C outside, and not much warmer indoors. It is also just as puffy as it was when brand new, even my dog doesn’t flatten it! So I am looking forward to many years of snuggling up under my wonderful duvet.Update Sept 2023Well, the coming winter will be the fourth for this duvet and it is still quite fantastic. I recently put it back on my bed after summer storage and was well pleased to see that it was just as fluffy as when it was new, and just as warm of course. I have not yet washed it because it has always been inside a duvet cover and is not dirty. During the summer when it is not in use I hang it outside on my clothes line and let it be aerated by the breeze, which seems to be all that is needed to keep it smelling fresh. I actually hate having to remove it for the summer when it’s just too warm, and always look forward to putting it back on the bed around this time of the year. One thing that I’ve noticed is that the rustling sound is still there but it doesn’t bother me at all. I should add that I have never been cold under this duvet, and as I said in my original review I barely heat my bedroom in winter so the duvet really has to keep me warm. I do have a heated mattress pad but I turn it off before going to sleep so it’s really just the duvet that keeps me warm (and my dog cuddling up to me!).
Breathable and temperature regulating
I finally decided to try this duvet after overheating all night long in a down duvet that was far too warm and itâs perfect. I sleep hot and this is super breathable and just warm enough and this was the first night I didnât wake up 10 times because I was too hot. I especially like that itâs not flimsy and feels like there is a bit of weight to it yet itâs very breathable. Itâs a bit âcrunchyâ sounding but I actually like that. Reminds me of hotel duvets lol

Very comfortable, warm and lightweight
I was hesitant to buy this, not knowing how it was going to work. The little loops on the duvet are so much better than the last one I had that didn’t have any. It is lightweight and not too hot. I have my window open right now, going down to -10C and I an quite comfortable. I tend to heat up, once I fall asleep, but this has not been a problem yet. My feet warm up quickly as soon as they are under it. Very worth the money, plus I like that it’s Canadian.
Perfect weight and also a perfect breathable duvet
The duvet is one of my favorite purchases! It isnt too fluffy or thick and looks great with the duvet cover I bought on Amazon. It feels breathable and have found it perfect for not being too hot or cold while sleeping. Like others have mentioned it does have a light crunch sound that I dont find annoying at all. Great quality and super happy with my purchase. I also purchased a pillow from this company and love that too.
