comfy and lightweight
For the price and quality definitly worth it. It’s a fairely comfortable and sturdy chair while also being lightweight. The aluminum rods for the chairs are thick and look of good quality. I only just got it and assembled it and sat in it. Didn’t personally use it fully yet other than testing it. Seems like it would make an excellent chair for the beach or camping. The only one downside I didn’t enjoy with the aluminum rods disassembling and collecting them was a bit a mess and annoying. other than that it comes in a nice tiny bag convient bag. definitly recommend this chair if you are looking for something light, compact, and comfortable.
Good quality, comfortable, upright sitting position. No digging into your legs.
I was very sceptical when I ordered these chairs (we bought 2). I do not like chairs that cut into the backs of my legs, and really expected these to do that. However they do not!!! They are very sturdy and well built. We are both tall (6’3″ and 5’10”) and both find these to be very comfortable. The high back is so nice, we can actually rest our heads on the head rest. They are a bit tough to put together the first few times as the material fits tight, but as the material forms from sitting they get easier to stretch over the leg supports. They sit nicely upright (not a super slouchy chair), they have good back support and dont “dig in” anywhere. We are very impressed with the quality and comfort plus the size and weight make them perfect.
Great portable chair thatâs comfortable and looks great
This is a very light, comfortable, stable and well made chair. Compared to the much more expensive Helinox Sunset high back chair, this Cascade Mountain Tech chair is only slightly more wobbly and Iâm 6â tall, 200 lbs. This chairâs main support cross bar, below the seat, is along its front and back axis, allowing for a little more side to side rocking. The Helinox has its main support running side to side (left and right), so the chair can be rocked back and worth a little bit. A big benefit of the Cascade Mountain chair is that it comes with a padded head rest, whereas you need to stuff the carrying sack of the Helinox chair. For the price, I can buy another two Cascade Mountain chairs.
best pack chair
I purchased this chair for morning and evening still hunting. It is very comfortable to sit in and is light and compact enough to pack around all day. It feels a little weak but has held up all through hunting season sitting on uneven ground in the freezing cold. It is very sturdy holds my 230LBS with no issues.
Top bar slips
The top bar slips off so all weight is on the fabric. I’m thinking a design flaw in this model as I have others of the same chair that is don’t . I love these chairs but had to return these as they would not have lasted
Very comfortable
Comfortable and not hard to assemble – just what he wanted!
Not bad, not great
It’s comfortable to sit in and it’s lightweight, but putting it together feels unnecessarily difficult. There’s a LOT of tension and you really have to bend and stretch the poles to put it together. Once it’s assembled it seems to hold together well, but I bought this with the intention of keeping it in my car and whipping it out on the fly whenever I wanted a seat, and I ended up making a fool of myself as I struggled for a few minutes just to get the poles into the canvas. I’ve put together many many tents and gazebos and this chair is by far the tightest fit I’ve seen. It’s totally doable, but you can’t help but feel like you’re about to break the poles while you force them into position.
Great quality
Love the compact size of this chair, I bought it for a gift and this chair goes everywhere, small enough to fit in a regular back pack and still have room, strap it to your bike, great for the beach, has the fat feet on the legs so it doesnât suck in the sand and be uneven, chair is a nice quick drying durable material.
We purchased two of these chairs and take them everywhere. They fit so nicely in our trunk and are lightweight. Great for the beach, rivers, or just a hang out where you need to bring a chair to a party or family get together, They are very comfortable , easy set up and take down, and worth the price.

Camping in a van I have to consider the size of the items I purchase that I feel I need to take with me.This chair fits the bill! It packs up in a small, easy case that you can store and or carry on a hike and not weigh you down or take up a lot room in your vehicle.I have had 2 hip replacements and needed a chair that wouldn’t be hard to sit in, get up from, and feel comfortable enough. This chair again….fits the bill!I have not trouble sitting in it comfortably or standing up. It feels sturdy as well and the mesh in the back to allow a breeze. The only con about this is if it’s cold.It packs away pretty easy and sets up easily as well and comes in a nice little carry case. The materials seem well made and we will see how it stands up to multiple use but does not look or feel cheap at all.The added head rest is a nice touch. It has velcro so you can use it or not, I like, so I use. This is a chair that I feel like I can now take with me down to the beach or on a hike, and not just leave back at the campsite.
I was looking for a pair of very lightweight, packable high-back chairs for my wife and I to use for camping, park concerts, etc. Initially, I was looking at top brands like Helinox and Big Agnes, but I didn’t want to spend $150-$200 per chair. Then I saw this Cascade Mountain Tech chair which looked and was priced exactly right–but I was nervous reading negative reviews about difficult assembly and wobbly support. I ordered them anyway, figuring I’d return them if not satisfactory… and I am SO HAPPY that I took that chance. This isn’t just a fantastic chair for the price… it’s fantastic, period! But let me address the two most common criticisms:Difficult to Assemble: Are you kidding me? The pieces of each chair are elastic shock-corded together. When you remove the binding strap that holds them together, the chair practically assembles itself as the elastic cord pulls the pieces into place–it’s literally impossible to make a mistake because the pieces can only assemble themselves as intended. Working without reading the instructions, I had the chair asssembled in less than two minutes. But hey–I’ve assembled a shock-corded tent before so maybe I know more than some people. So I gave the next chair to my wife who hasn’t done this before and asked her to put it together without reading the instructions. She only took a minute or two longer than me, no problems. The hardest part–and it’s not that hard–is inserting the frame into the last of four gussets on the chair fabric because the fabric is somewhat taut at that point.Wobbly Support: Again, are you kidding me? I weigh 200 pounds and while there is some give and flexing of the frame as I move in the chair, that’s exactly as intended. It flexes as you shift your weight around because the alternative would be for the support legs to permanently bend. Any chair this light and packable into a tiny case isn’t going to give you the rigidity of a lawn chair. But at the same time, it will absolutely support you without a problem.Any negatives? It’s not quite as light as comparable Helinox and Big Agnes high-back chairs, but they are 4-4 times the price. Also, I’m 5’10” and while I’d say the chair is fine for 6 footers, if you’re signficantly taller, this is probably not the chair for you. (But this is true of all the similar chairs regardless of price.) I also can’t speak to long-term durability, but the observable quality, especially at this price point, seems great. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I hope you find it helpful in making a buying decision.
