Description
Culturelle Calm Plus Colic, Probiotic Drops for Babies, helps soothe colic, fussiness and crying in babies 1-36 months. Contains Bifidobacterium longum subsp longum KABPTM-042 strain, and Pediococcus pentosaceus KABPTM-041 strain, two strains which help improve colic symptom relief in infants. 8ml. Recommended dose: Infants 1 to 36 months old: 5 drops 1 time per day. Take at least 2-3 hours before or after antibiotics. Use within 30 days after opening. Instructions for adults: Replace cap with dropper. Shake the bottle well before use. Drop 5 drops (0.25 ml) into the milk bottle or in a (10 to 15 ml) beverage of your child’s choice and let him/her drink it once daily. Culturelle probiotics are CDHF certified. The best thing and should be on every baby list
My baby use to wake up ever 2 hours we were lucky if we got 3hrs of sleep. After a week of using we average a night on 5hr to 6 hr and last night we actually got 8hr of sleep.

PRACTICALS:Instructions say to add drops to bottle or beverage. However, my kiddo is 7 months and refuses a bottle and so adding to liquid isn’t an option. I added these drops to his baby cereal instead but this is outside the instructions. I’m not sure what breast feeding moms of younger babies are suppose to do as they don’t even have this option. Is direct drops into babies mouth allowed? Or are they out of luck?Other practicals I can note – the instructions say to use within 30 days. They also note that at 5 drops per day they are receiving 0.25 ml. With a bottle of 8 ml that means there’s 32 days worth of drops. This gives a little bit of room if some drops are bigger or something spills or kiddo spits it out. At the same time, following the 30 day rule you may still have some at the end that you would need to discard. Missing a day only results in waste vs the dose being extended a day.The dropper system does work very well. It also comes with a cap so there’s no concern of it getting squeezed and leaking when not needed.It is listed as tasteless. I tested this out and initial thought was that it was just like water, but I did notice a slight nutty taste, similar to walnuts. It was not strong at all and it’s clear that is just from the ingredients and not meant to be a flavor. Suttle enough to easily go unnoticed when mixed with other substances.EXPERIENCE:My little one reacted to his first antibiotics and had to do a double dose of another kind to clear his ear infection – so his poor gut could use some assistance! Added to that solids were just being introduced so there was a lot going on for his tummy. Having this available was nice to feel like we were doing something that helped. That being said, he never had colic symptoms so I cannot attest to that area of things.Positive news – did not notice any negative effects. Beyond that it’s hard to tell the actual difference made because there are so many external factors also making an impact.

When you can’t converse with the patient, it’s difficult to assess the efficacy of a treatment… but the results seem to be positive. And there doesn’t seem to be any taste – the little one hasn’t objected, so that’s very good news!The bottle is small, which makes the price seem a little steep… but if it works, then it’s hard to complain, right? The dropper is easy to use; it comes with the dropper in a separate sealed packet, so you have a regular cap to place on the bottle if you don’t anticipate needing it for a while.
Very easy to administer
We were looking for a new probiotic (not necessarily specifically for colic, but for overall gut health) when these popped up, so we decided to give them a go. I can’t say much about the efficacy for colic, or even in terms of this vs. other products, but the good news is we haven’t noticed a change since switching, so that’s good.What I can say is that this product comes with a very easy-to-use dropper, so getting the right dose is no problem at all. Combine that with the fact that they’re tasteless and odorless, this has been one of the easiest products to administer to the little one. For that alone, we’re happy with this product.

From a probiotic standpoint, it’s helpful. I haven’t seen any side effects or fussiness since providing these drops. So it must be working. From a product standpoint, it’s straightforward to use with the dropper top it comes with.
