Learning to use the potty takes patience and practice, and this charming, straightforward book helps pave the way. Young children learn how to use the potty and why it’s time to do so, while gaining the courage and confidence to face this important milestone in their lives. When little ones learn to “do what the big kids do” (go, wipe, flush, wash their hands), they won’t need a diaper anymore—they’ll have underwear under there! Includes tips for parents and caregivers from a children’s health specialist.

Good tool to use with other potty training techniques
Before potty training, I began reading this book and showing them their potty – so they understood what “new adventure” we’d be taking on. The kids were very receptive.
love it
we started reading this book a few weeks before potty training and it was great. highly recommend to help children understand the process
Nice book
Great book on potty training. I adjust it to include the words pee and poo and sometimes throw in anatomy too.Simply written and includes hand washing, which my other potty books don’t have.I didn’t realise when I bought it, but was pleased to see that this book shows kids of different races, not just the white kid on the front. I am trying to find kids books with more diversity so that was great.
but it’s not his favourite potty book
My son likes this book, but it’s not his favourite potty book. I do like how things are explained in this book though. But it just hasn’t quite captivated my son’s attention the way some of our other potty books have.
Great potty motivation!
We’d been practicing potty use in the evenings but wanted to nudge just a little more to really make the jump into potty training without forcing the issue. This book did the trick! After reading it THE FIRST TIME, our son wanted to use the potty instead of his diaper! Out came the underwear and off we went! He still likes reading it, and feeling proud that he uses the potty now! 100% recommend!
Nice potty training book.
It is nice that it starts by telling how the child is growing, and giving a context for starting potty training. I also like that shows that boys can pee standing up, and that the characters are toddlers, not babies.
Handy for training prep
Found this very useful in preparation for potty training!
Great book for easing kids minds
This is a great book and my toddler really related to the story. The transition from diapers to fully potty trained was so easy for us that it’s hard to say if this book had any impact on it.
I purchased this book to help with potty training and it was a huge hit! We have tons from the whole collection and they have all been GREAT with instilling new lessons with our children! One of my favorite series of childrenâs books hands down!
Gut erhaltenes, gebrauchtes Buch.
I was looking for a book that will help me with potty training.. well the story is .. boring and to complicated for a small 2,5 year old child with no siblings! (she does not understand what are the big kids)… colors and drawings are nothing special. It failed to attract my daughter’s attention and every time I pick it up she tells me “no mommy, not this story!”… not impressed!
Very good book. For UK readers, just substitute the word nappy for diaper. We’ve had a number of potty training books mostly aimed at toddlers. This book shows both potty and toilet and children of varying ages both toddler and slightly older so would be good for the stubbon older child (like mine). It even depicts a urinal for boys, something I’ve not seen in other books! Simple straightforward text.__________________________________________________________________A few days later and success! FINALLY!!!!! First poo on the toilet. Also used a netmums tip about getting them to blow up a balloon while sitting on the toilet. Uses the same muscles apparently. Thanks AMAZON, a new toilet seat (cars), a few books on the subject of poo, a balloon, and the promise of a surprise (precious petzzz) if he goes has worked wonders where no amount of stickers, stars, bribes, and pleading have worked before.RELIEF!!!
Me and my daughter love the book! She understood since the very begining the idea of this. It is very practical and love the way they explain the concept of leaving diappers. For sure is not for forcing the child is more that they have the idea and they can start to have this idea on their mind… they will leave diappers when they are ready.
