Good magnet strengthâ¦stay together, but easy to pull apart
For play value, this magnet dinosaur train set is great. Dinos and trainsâ¦a perfect preschooler combo, can’t go wrong with that. I like the durability of the wood construction. The pieces are a great size for little hands, and the wood is smooth, with no sharp edges or snags. Magnets are strong enough to hold together well to pull the entire train without any cars or dinos detaching mid-journey, but are also easy to pull apart when you want them apart. I really like that the dinosaurs are held in place with little magnets, providing a satisfying, successful experience for kids who may not have developed dexterity and fine motor stills yet—kids can just plunk the dinos in the approximate location and they stay put, no accuracy needed.The colours are bright and cheery, but oddly, there’s no true greenâ¦just a blue-green that could be blue or green. Matching numerals on the dinosaurs with dots and number words on the cars helps to teach numbers.Comes with a good-sized, double-drawstring fabric bag to make for a quick pick up and handy storage. The fabric pattern is owls, though, not dinos or trains—a missed opportunity to help kids match toy and storage. Note: the wheel base isn’t large enough to use with Brio train sets. Still, a good solid toy choice. Recommend.
If you have any toddlers who love trains, they will for sure love these wooden magnetic ones. The plus side is they won’t realize that this is a hidden learning activity too. On each of the train beds there is a certain color, number of dots to correspond, and the written form of the number as well. This provided so much fun for our little ones and I love how durable the wooden pieces are for tiny hands.
