Had it for a month now. Easy to set up the product and setup on the phone – took just a few minutes and is was up and running. I put it under my pillow and it is so thin (slimmer than an iPad – maybe like one or two magazines thick) never noticed that it was there. Impressive that it can get all that data without having to worry about wifi/cellular signals going through my head/my babyâs head which I think is the big difference between this and other similar products that are out there. I definitely recommend!
I have been trying this out for a month now. I was really excited to try this out. I thought it, wow, it might be really nice to not have to remember to put a device on my baby and still get some feedback that everything is going well in there. I know I’m not the only one who struggles with wanting my baby to sleep, but when they do I am suddenly like, oh no! Are they okay?!This product has good potential but I do not feel like it is worth the cost it is listed for, especially with the issues I have been experiencing, it is definitely not offering that peace of mind I was hoping for. The app crashes about 95% of the time I open it. It is to the point that my phone keeps suggesting this app be put into deep sleep to help my phone run more smoothly. When it does open, it’s a toss up if it will show the vitals for my baby. For example, right now my baby has been in bed for a little over three hours, sleeping peacefully, has shifted position a few times but is not tossing and turning by any means. They have been in basically the same spot and position the last three times I’ve looked at them. Checking the app, it indicates the bed is empty and shows no readings. They are in a location of the bed that occasionally does register their presence and give readings.I know that my baby is not unusual in their utilization of the entirety of the mattress space available in their crib as I have seen many viral video clips of a baby dominating a king sized bed while their parents huddle in a tiny sliver of bed. The user manual says that baby can sleep in any position and anywhere on the bed and still have a reading but I am finding that this is not the case for me. When it does give readings, the accuracy varies depending on the position the baby is in. I find the values are less accurate when baby is on their side, when I get readings and notice my baby is on their side, I get values of about 73 BPM (scary low!) and no breathing values. If on their stomach or back I get values that are within 2-5 BPM of the heart rate my Owlet gives which feels pretty precise!I believe this product was originally designed for elderly or bedridden patients and they decided to expand their product to also serve new parents. This product works if the baby is in a pretty specific area of their crib but I have zero control over where they move in their sleep. For an adult who sleeps with their body in roughly the same location this kind of thing would probably be pretty reliable. As it is, this product believes my kid is only in bed for about 4 hours or less per night, when in reality it’s a minimum of 10 and usually the 11-12 range. I don’t know what happens to the other 7 ish hours, perhaps they are in a ‘bad spot’ of their crib? This also always indicates paused breathing for my child which I have never noticed nor had any O2 issues on Owlet, but this implies over a dozen in the few hours it believes my child to be in the bed.The monitor is pretty chunky, and the big red button for the emergency had my husband asking if I was certain this was for babies and not elderly before he even knew about the company starting out using this technology for adults. It is also pretty bright. It has to be in the room with the baby as it is connected to the pad. I have it covered because otherwise it lights up the whole room and my baby is ready to party and see what they can see given the light. Just a thought, but it seems a weird thing to have this part in the room with the baby. Baby doesn’t want to check on their vitals. It would make more sense for the monitor to be something you could have in Mom and Dad’s room or portable like a baby monitor.Customer service is responsive for this product. They informed me that because it is “Smart” it is constantly learning and will start to work more quickly and give more accurate readings, but it can take a few days before it has sleep scores and such information to share. When I inquired about the app constantly they suggested I was running it on too old of a device. My phone is a Samsung S22 so, though not the newest on the market certainly new enough to not be the culprit in this situation. They said they would report the issue and let me know if there was a new version that came out.As it is, while this does work sometimes, I cannot bail on my wearable device because I don’t know for sure that this will offer me any information or reassurance when I get the app to open. For the price that is being asked I feel like this should be running much more smoothly than it does. I hope that the app gets updates and this becomes a more reliable way to check in on my child. Perhaps I’ll experiment on putting it beneath the pillow of my older child. Though, they don’t stay put through the course of a night either, but it would be interesting to see if the device might do better used for an older kid.Setup was pretty simple but the frustrations and headaches from the glitchy app have soured the experience. I will continue to have this in the room in hopes that the app will be updated and maybe the user experience will improve. If it is worthy of changing my review I will hop back on with an update. Currently, I feel this is a great idea but the execution could some work before asking people to drop hundreds of dollars on this.
I’m so happy I got this DreamBe monitor for my baby. It’s super easy to set up the monitor and the app on my phone. I love that I don’t have to attach anything to my baby, I can just slip the pad under the crib sheet. It picks up his breathing, heart rate, and sleep pattern, and alerts you right away on your phone if there are movement’s or crying. So far it has worked great for us and had been a big help. I now have peace of mind everytime my baby is in his crib and I’m not in the room. The only issue I had was with the app. It does have problems and completely exits out sometimes out of nowhere. It can be pretty annoying. Hopefully they get it fixed soon, then this would be a 5 star product. This monitor set is perfect for worried parents to keep track of their little one, and great for any baby/child who has medical needs. Overall satisfied and would recommend. It’s pricey, but worth it imo.
My daughter has sleep apnea and I know it says you can use it for babies but she is seven. I’ve been pretty worried since she was diagnosed and it’s just gives me an extra piece of mind. Doesn’t seem to notice that it’s around her and the alerts go straight to my phone.
