Fits the bill and my Rack Sack!
I was tired of having to do creative origami with my previous compost bags, which included jerry-rigging with snack clips to the frame of my Rack Sack. These bags work very well with the Rack Sack (no effort required), and seem to be as strong as other compost bags. Also like the convenience of tying the handles versus have to twist and knot the other compost bags. The only downside may be the small size of the bags (they do, however, fit perfectly within the frame of the Rack Sack) but having to change them more frequently than a large compost bag may help reduce fruit fly issues later this summer. Iâm very pleased to have found this product and certainly recommend it.
Good quality
I bought these to try for cleaning the litter box. They are great, the size is perfect for 1 week of scooping. They did not leak or weep and the handles were great to tie and carry out to the green bin. I have other green bags I use for food scraps that I have to keep in the freezer or they weep. They did not work at all for kitty litter. I am going to try these for food, once I use up all the old bags. A little pricey, but sometimes you have to pay a bit more for something that works.
UPDATE: Appearances are Deceiving
When they arrive I thought they looked like they were a better quality, but just like others I’ve tried, they leak and there doesn’t seem to be any reason. Very disappointed!UPDATE: I have to take back what I said above. It’s true they did leak, but only the first two bags had an issue. Since then, they’ve been great!

As weak as wet tissue paper
I put one of these bags in our kitchen compost bin, when I took it out to put in our kerbside bin, it disintegrated, spilling, compost all over my kitchen and living room.I figured I mustâve snagged it or put something sharp in there so I tried again â same thing happened.I hadnât told my husband about my battle with these bags so he put one in and again disintegration.So I gave up using them as compost bags and started using them in waste paper baskets as I thought it was the moisture making them disintegrate.I used it to pick up cat litter, and as long as I put it directly into the kerbside bin it was OK for that purpose.I put one in my daughters bathroom waste paper basket, where it contained random make up remover, pads, packaging, and toilet paper tubes â all dry things. This bag disintegrated too.These bags arenât worth the effort it takes to tear one off the roll.ð

These bags are a good size but the break down with 4 days. I take my composting out once a week and these never make it. Not worth buying as they disintegrate rapidly.
It seems a bit tricky to create a garbage bag that will be strong enough for a full heavy load of trash and yet break down easily so as not to add plastic to the landfill. These clever sacks get the job done. I have never had one break on me when carrying it outside to the large trash barrel, and yet I can see that they are already decomposing when I bring the barrel up to the curb for collection (once a week) to be dumped into the garbage truck.The only messes I’ve had to clean up in the kitchen have been due to midnight raids by a certain canine person (you know who you are!) and that cannot be blamed on the integrity of the trash bag.Oh and one more thing. They do not have any stinky perfume. I hate a smelly garbage bag. These are nice and neutral.
I’ve used other bags and they’ve been so thin that they break, or they don’t come off the roll easily. Not so with these bags. Even with high moisture contents in a warm humid climate, they hold together. Handles are a bonus too. I like how there’s a large quantity supplied.
I have allergies, and use a LOT of tissues. I keep one of these hanging from my bed, and they’re just the right size. In addition, the type of plastic is very quiet and doesn’t crinkle loudly like grocery bags. (I got these for trash, not compost, since we no longer use disposable grocery bags, and I didn’t want to order trash bags that won’t break down, so I can’t comment on how well they hold up for compost). The handles are a good shape – big enough and strong enough to tie the bag closed securely when full. Will buy again if I ever run out.
These fit perfectly in all our small compost bins, including the larger Oxo one. The handles make it really easy to tie up the bag to carry it out. If we’re careful, the bags are usually sturdy enough for our compost, but it’s easy for something crispy to poke a hole in it.
These bags make excellent outer liners for food scrap buckets/bins. For context- last year my city added a new requirement to its green waste program and now residents are directed to put all food scraps into the large green waste bins (which were previously just filled with content like lawnmower clippings, dead leaves, etc). So we collect those food scraps in small 3-gallon buckets with lids, but you really do need to line them with compostable bags to contain the mess and smell. Otherwise it gets pretty gross. And honestly, I’ve found that I have to use two layers for the bucket because the bags easily leak and/or split. So I use these compostable bags with handles for the outer layer, and the cheaper compostable bags without handles for the inner layer. When the bin is full and I pull out the bags, I can easily tie the top (rather than awkwardly knotting them) and toss it it the green waste bin. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s okay.
