Great car seat, great price
Read a lot of reviews that made mention of âhard installâ – it was literally so simple donât believe those reviews. Straps are great, I had the uppa baby infant car seat and I would say the straps are comparable. It is quite large but ⦠itâs a rear facing car seat. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Nice-until the harness failed!
I was quite happy with this seat, comfortable, quick no thread harness, easy to tighten, quick to take in an out of the vehicle, however, I purchased the seat in 2021, and being only 2 years later I noticed a large gouge frayed spot on the harness. Alarmed and no idea how long it had been like that (beyond thankful we had not been in any accidents like that) I called Evenflo.I was on the phone for 15 minutes. They asked me to take the seat apart and take detailed pictures. They responded that they determined the damage to be from rodents and would not warranty the seat, and could not supply another harness. (On inspection there are no signs of rodent damage anywhere in the car or other webbing in the car, the seat has never been out of the car, and has been well cared for.Unbelievable. A quick google search shows they have done this in the past to other people. They claim it is a forever seat to grow with the child, yet it failed in 2 years. Far to expensive to replace at that rate. Extremely dissappointed. It might be nice but this big of a structural failure could have killed my child.
Unsafe and unaccountable. Avoid at all costs.
Purchased the car seat new and experienced significant fraying as others have as well. Please, for the safety of your kids and for your wallet, do not buy from Evenflo.When we reported the fraying to the company, they were unaccountable and said it was âdue to crittersâ which is the same line theyâve fed others. They did not provide a refund nor a replacement. Please Google this company and youâll see several reports across Reddit, news articles and more about the fraying harness.Please also report this to Transport Canada or your national governing agency overseeing the safety of cars and all things related. The company needs to be held accountable.
We bought the Evenflo Platinum Symphony because our sons Graco Size4Me 65’s padding was way to thin after removing the infant insert. And we could not be happier after 2 8+ hour trips our kid is still happy to get into his âbaby car seatâ. We also love thePros:Suresafe installation is amazing. They are self tightening and way easier to instal then the connectors on the Graco.The outlast fabric is amazing at keeping temp. No more sweat stains from my kid.Holding up well (at least at this point)Very easy to clean.Seams to be comfortable for my kid.Looks niceEasy to tighten with my son in it.2 cup holdersCons:Not a fan of the adjustable strap heights.The cup holders are not one piece so cant hold food.Is my review missing something?I think that honest, well thought out reviews sometimes are forced to take the place of personal experience while online shopping. Car seat is great quality. Unfortunately we returned it because it has a few design flaws. First. Itâs pretty large. Unless you have a van or something with a lot of space you wonât have a lot of leg room with the front seats. We have a Honda Pilot and barely had leg room. Second. For our one year old the head rest makes her head stick forward too much. She would fall asleep with her head hanging forward, all the pressure on her neck. This is because of how much the head pad sticks out from the back. And the fact the seat does not recline that far. We got a different car seat that reclines about twice as far and sheâs far more comfortable in it.
Purchased for my 4 year old grandson who was visiting and ALMOST to a booster… this is a really, really nice car seat – appears/seems to be well made… material is quality… and it was easy to use. I will say that it did NOT come with an instruction manual which would have been useful – making things quicker to figure out but we did get it all safely set in. My sister runs a daycare so I donated to her after our use – we already had a booster seat that matches his brothers – so we let this one go even though it will make a booster seat. I will say that my grandson was riding VERY high on seat… sort of throne like he was so high… but he liked it.
This carseat has everything I expected and one thing that I didnât that is so awesome. That thing is the built in strap system for attaching the seat to the car. Past seats relied on the carâs safety belt which, at best, was a hassle and often Left the seat too loose. Our solution was to buy a strap that had connection for attaching to the carâs car seat hooks and, while it was a more secure way to go, it was often difficult to remove when we didnât need the seat (weâre grandparents).This seat has a built-in strap system that does away with relying on the carâs seat belts and securely attached the seat. But whatâs really nice is the latching mechanism. This thing is brilliant. It makes hooking up the seat and subsequently removing it so easy while providing a nice snug and secure connection to the car safety hooks.
This is nothing like the original platinum symphony I got first time 5 years ago for my first child. We’re still using that car seat and it’s still in a great shape, the quality of the fabric is really amazing, so we decided to buy the same carseat for my second child. We were very disappointed from the moment we received it, nothing like the original. Cheap fabric, cheap plastic. If we didn’t have to leave for a long drive trip the next day I would’ve had return it next day. We still gave it a chance , and here we are less than 6 months, and the car seat looks worse than the older one which is 5 years old. The fabric is all shredded, and the front buckle seems not to work always. It locks so hard I can’t take the child out or sometimes it won’t let me actually insert the buckles. It supposed to be a convertible car seat for a few stages, but we didn’t even make to a year.
