Good quality, well made and versatile toy
The little kids love this toy. They use it fish, sort, stack, whatever they can think of. It can be used many ways, with or without the base, in or out of the bucket. They also love to pack and unpack it in the bucket and use the fishing rods as drum sticks. The wood pieces are smooth and nicely painted, and it has all kids of skill development potential with the magnetic fishing, balancing the pieces, threading the beads. It is quite versatile and has become a go-to toy in our house. It is a quality made product that is worth the slightly higher price, as this is a toy you will keep for your grandkids down the road. Totally recommend it.

good for toddlers with variety of skill levels
Cute little fishing toy! It is nice that it comes in a carry case, easy to clean up and put away. Good construction and colours on the pieces.There are several levels of play depending on the age and stage of the child:- the hole in the lid is good for putting the pieces inside. 1-2 years olds might just like putting the fish back in the sea!-more skill required with the stacking and balancing pieces for older toddlers.-magnet fishing is the trickiest bit. The fishing rod is the magnet and the fish have a small metal piece only on one side, so the fishing rod must line up perfectly in order to “catch” the fish. I ended up adding a small screw to the opposite side of each fish so that it could be caught no matter what side was up.All in all it is a very fun toy with great playability, and lots of practice with fine motor skills.

I’m more impressed with this toy than I expected to be!
This is actually a great toy! My 2 year old has been playing with it daily since she got it. There are multiple ways to play with it and it comes in a nice carrying case! Each pice is wooden and really well painted! They are all good quality! Each little aquatic piece has a magnet on one side that you can use a little fishing rod to pick up. There is a small hole in the life of the bucket that they can then place the little dude in! Great for fine motor skills! There is a wobble coral that they can also balance the little dudes on. As well, each dude has a hole that they can thread onto a string! Such a great little set with multiple ways to play with it! My 27 month old can do all of these activities, so it’s great for young ones!!
Great Toy for Keeping Kids Engaged – Good Quality
This toy came very well packaged which I appreciated. The pieces feel durable and overall it feels like a quality piece. The magnets are strong and the colours are great and there are a variety of activities.The different difficulty levels and play modes is nice as the level of challenge can change based on the child & hold their attention for longer. You have activities that help with focus, dexterity, hand-eye coordination and motor function.Examples: The stacking blocks are great for improving focus, while the fishing toy is fun and helps with hand-eye coordination. The bead string game is also a nice for working on dexterity and recognizing different sea animals.Overall, itâs a great early development toy with plenty of variety to keep things interesting.Would recommend!
magnet on one side of fish, not a strong magnet.
I ordered this set for a grandson as I remember how much his father enjoyed his set around his age.Unlike his father’s plastic set, the product is made of wood except for the handy plastic basket everything comes in. While the parts are smaller than his dad’s set, these are nicely painted rather than a solid colour fish.Once the fish is caught, it can be strung with the other catch by using the dull plastic needle and string. The holes in the fish that the string will through are drilled but not sanded, suggesting that this may be hard on the string, and eventually cause the string to break.My four-star review is based on the fact that the single magnet is only on one side of the fish, and the magnets are not strong. This requires the fish to be placed on the magnetic side up, and if you try to fish through the lid as they show in the video, if the fish catches the opening, it falls off the hook and most often magnet down.It is still a nice toy, and the fish will have to be setup in the basked manually, and we won’t use the lid.
We have 2 other wood balancing toys. This one outshines them all. Not only can you use it as a balancing game (try getting all the critters to stay on top of the base – with or without the base top), some of the critters will fit in the coral top. It’s also a fishing toy – but for this part, the magnets are only on 1 side of the critters so if facing the wrong way can be frustrating. However, the fishing challenge can grow with the kids skills (out of the bucket, in the bucket no top, or in the bucket and fish through the bucket lid). I think the best part of the whole toy is the bucket. Toddlers love to put and carry all kinds of things in the little bucket so this toy will not loose interest. And at the end of the day, everything stores neatly away minimizing the chance of losing parts. If I could change one thing, it would be to add holes in the top or bucket sides so it could be a shape sorter for the critters too.
One of the small pegs that connect the pieces broke but it still functions fine. It was a rather in expensive item so you get what you pay for!

Never mind the kids, I love this game for myself! The quality of this game is excellent with real wood pieces, beautifully rendered graphics and a storage container that doubles as the “old fishing hole.” While the real appeal of the set is to go fishing & see what you catch using the included fishing poles, there are an assortment of other ways the set can be used. Children can use the set for counting, sorting, matching colors, they can string fish beads, or stack the pieces on the coral reef, or simply learn names of the animals in the ocean. They can also play by themselves or with a friend.Some of the features that I really appreciate is that this set is painted with non toxic paint and has been well sanded with no burrs or splinters. The set is also wipeable so it can be cleaned between uses. Others have mentioned the weakness of the magnet which is true, but with a steady hand, eventually it will attach which is perhaps the whole point. Overall, an excellent old fashioned game with lots of great ways to play.
I like the set up with the storage container and the display coral. The items are visualy appealing to entice kids to persist with threading and moving all the pieces.âï¸ 1 star= Dissappointed. I don’t recommend it, it is poor quality, or it does not reflect the advertising.âï¸âï¸ 2 stars = Has some redeeming quality.âï¸âï¸âï¸ 3 stars = It’s passable.
