Reliable and User-Friendly: A Must-Have for Bonsai Enthusiasts!
I recently had the pleasure of using the Govee Bluetooth Humidity Meter, Hygrometer Thermometer, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every way. As a bonsai enthusiast, I rely on precise temperature and humidity measurements to ensure the well-being of my 10-year-old black spruce bonsai, especially during the harsh Canadian winters when inducing dormancy.To keep my bonsai in dormancy, I store it in the refrigerator over the winter. It is crucial to maintain a temperature just above freezing to prevent root freezing, as well as humidity levels above 30-40% to prevent it from drying out. With the Govee Humidity Meter, I could set up alerts to notify me if the temperature dropped below freezing or went above 4 degrees Celsius, which could potentially harm or disrupt the dormancy period.Setting up the temperature and humidity intervals was a breeze with the slider-style interval selection in the accompanying application. The Bluetooth connection remained strong, even when the device was inside a stainless steel fridge in my garage and I was 10 meters away. I was impressed by the reliable connectivity.The user-friendly application provides insightful data logging with graphs displaying humidity, temperature, and dew points over several weeks. This visual representation helped me monitor and analyze the environment with ease. Good Value for Indoor Temp/Humidity Logging
– I purchased 2x 2 packs (4 units) at the beginning of March 2021 primarily for temperature logging- The units are located in the Family (main), Kitchen (main), Master (2nd) and Cat room (basement)- I transfer the data weekly and download CSVs every few months- The Bluetooth connection takes upwards of 10 seconds (Samsung S10) to begin the transfer, and completes within 10 seconds from a central location. I usually have to refresh once or twice during the transfer, which results in a minor delay. If I move to close proximity of each device then the transfers usually occur without a refresh. This is because of the lower transmission power coupled with walls between the phone and the device- Battery state is presented which is a nice feature- The App is simple and intuitive and works without incident, although I don’t view the data via the App very much. The Govee and Sensorpush Apps have a very similar presentation and features- I used my Sensorpush to calibrate the Govee devices, as I had previously determined the Sensorpush to be very accurate. I bought the Sensorpush to record my attic temperature during the summer, then I purchased the Govee product- I purchased these because of the lower cost, they include a display and for the CSV log download featureOne Issue;- I was not able to get the 1 minute CSV download to function, I worked with Govee Tech support for ~1 week in mid-April 2021, but they were not able to replicate the issue. However, the 15 min interval works every time and also works for 4 devices simultaneously which is a nice time saver. A 15 minute interval is fine so the product works well for my use case which is to download and plot the temperature in Excel for each of the locations.Overall I am quite pleased with the performance, reliability, App, Download and price point and highly recommend this product if you have a similar use case
