Highly recommend
After using it for a few weeks, I highly recommend this product. It has some suction when installed. This suction slightly assists in “letdown” when the breast is full and you’re feeding the baby on one side. I will advise that it may feel uncomfortable (as a first-time mom) and it is ok. Also, get a nursing brassiere that will accommodate it, if you want to increase mobility and keep it on. It gets a bit heavy as it fills with milk (and may fall off), so you may need to pull it off, empty it into your collecting container and continue with it. I am satisfied with the item.
Works well for the letdown
I bought these to catch my let down, as I didn’t want to waste all that milk. It works great for that purpose! It has some suction power, but not enough to extract the milk unless really engorged. It’s a great collector though.I’ve stopped using the little opening on the top to transfer over the milk to the bottle. I’ve spilled the collected milk on accident a couple of times turning the lagybug upside down. Just squeezing the sides of the ladybug to create a spout of sorts does the trick; it’s faster and less spills.Would definitely recommend this item.
Does the job but is uncomfortable and awkwardly shaped
Wanted to love those, but didnât. The outer edges cut into my skin and are uncomfortable, and the ladybug shape and size makes it impossible to wear this under a top and leave the house, as it looks ridiculous. Also hard to sleep in due to the size/shape. I also purchased the Medela version which I prefer and get a lot more use out of, as the shells are much more comfortable and discreet under clothing, plus easy to sleep in.
Great passive collector
I use the Hakka ladybug a lot. It works amazing for collecting frequent leaks and letdowns. I really like how you can adjust the suction to relieve engorgement. This is a breastfeeding must have!
Si seulement ils tenaient
Jâai une petite poitrine à la base, et pour vrai ça aurait été un produit parfait sâils tenaient en place. Le produit en soit est excellent, mais à cause de la forme de ma poitrine ils tombaient tout le temps
So convenient!
I should’ve only ordered one since I pretty much only used one at a time, but wow I always used one while nursing! Occasionally when my son would pull off I’d put the second one on to catch the let down, but I could’ve managed with just the one ladybug.
Less comfortable than the bigger size
I have the bigger size and liked it so I bought two more in case it was dirty or to wear. Because theyâre smaller theyâre harder (less soft silicon) so theyâre less comfortable. I also wouldnât wear them around in public because they stick out a lot and would be really noticeable. Theyâre fine as backups for me around the house though.
Not 2 pieces
Purchasing the 2 pc option for double the price gets you a box with only 1 ladybug inside. The box says 2pc, but only had one silicone milk catcher.
Get these! Comfortable and easy to use. Iâve had them for years and still use them
Muy padres
I like the concept of being able to use these and collect the let down while nursing. They do stick out a bit so I wouldnât wear these while out and about but they work fine at home. Iâve been able to collect a 2-3 bottle with these and as a just enough producer thatâs a big win.
Ne han funcionando muy bien ya no desperdicio leche al momento de realizar alguna actividad o dormir no son muy cómodas pero luego te acostumbras
Below is a review of 4 options for catching milk and sore nipple protection to hopefully help another momma get the right product the first time rather than having to try and return a bunch of products while taking care of a new baby like I did.haakaa Ladybug- small nipple hole (painful on the areola) silicone is more rigid, Iâm assuming to be able to suction but itâs just not conducive for healing sore nipples, uncomfortable to sleep in. Noticeable under bra. If looking for gentle suction for letdown but something baby canât kick off, the ElvieCurve is amazing but unfortunately expensive.Medela TheraShells- look absolutely ridiculous, only about 2in in diameter so on any size breast these are going to be noticeable and weird looking. The inverted/flat nipple back has the smallest nipple opening that I canât imagine it would fit anyones nipples comfortably and would further cause damage to the sore Areola. The sore nipple back is comfortable but I just felt silly wearing them because of how they looked. These may catch leaks but not much and they have vent holes at the top so I imagine they will leak if wearing them to bed. No suction.Phillips Avent- these come with shells with and without air vents depending on whether you want to use them for collecting milk or for sore nipples. I really thought out of the 4 these were going to be my favorite because of the shape of the silicone cushion but these were still painful on my areola. They also look unnatural under a bra and for bigger chested women are definitely going to be noticeable.Elvie Catch- a higher price point but definitely worth it. Out of the 4 options I tried, these were my favorite. Instantly comfortable, discreet under a bra, comfortable enough to sleep in. The silicone piece that touches the breast is soft and flexible and not rigid like the Haaka lady bugs and I feel will actually allow my nipples to heal. The collection container is small but at this point I care less about collecting and more about protecting my nipples from sticking to nipple pads. If you have long nipples, these may not work for you because of the flatter collection chamber, your nipples will touch the hard plastic, defeating the sore nipple purpose. But thereâs about 3/4in depth so most nipples will fit fine. Taking apart and putting these back together is kind of a pain but doable. No suction like the haaka but Iâm fine with that as my supply is now more regulated and engorgement isnât such a huge problem. (If engorged and have sore nipples I highly recommend the Elvie Curve that has gentle suction and canât be kicked off by baby as youâre nursing the other side. These are less comfy to sleep in but still doable and they have a large collection chamber.)
