Amazing jacket
Love this jacket. So well made! Perfect for the rainy west coast – and great that itâs fleeced-lined for added warmth. Love the reflector stripes too. I wish I found this jacket when my son was younger – I would have bought one for every size. Patterns are super cute. Plus my son loves the pockets! Perfect for rocks and âtreasuresâ :).
Well made, durable, attractive child’s raincoat
Well worth the price. This raincoat is really good quality with lots of thoughtful features like reflective tape, water impermeable seams and very attractive fabric choices with matching accessories like hats, mitts, boots, rainpants. If you live somewhere like the west coast, where it is more rain than cold, and will be wearing a raincoat more often this is a good choice. Wider than most through the chest, so also good for wearing with sweaters underneath, or for a slightly stockier kid.
Wonderful Jacket
This is very well made. Itâs warm for fall days and very waterproof. The hood is very well designed. It fits my small 5 year old with enough room for a sweater under it.
Made for the West Coast!
Perfect jacket for west coast weather! I ordered a size 4 for my three year old who is on the tall side. I was worried about the sleeves being short as mentioned in other reviews as this has been a problem with other clothing brands, but thankfully there is plenty of room to grow in the sleeves and throughout the entire jacket.The adjustable hood is excellent and I love that there is a little brim too. The fleece lining is warm and there’s lots of room to layer and use as a winter jacket.I would say it’s a bit pricey but I needed a good quality jacket for outdoor preschool and we will get plenty of use out of this, then my other child can use it later on. So all things considered I’m happy.
LOVE dirt-water-wind-proof, large, but lenght n sleeves r short (pick a size bigger)
Size wise :My son actually wears 3T (George, Joe Fresh, Romy and anksel) either for indoor/outdoor clothing. Height is 37 inches and Weight is 37 pounds.I had bought the 3T pants and it was on the smaller size (wich I got exchanged for 4gotT and fits perfectly) so I took 4T for the jacket.So the body of this jacket is wider than usual outdoor clothing of the same size and the height is a bit shorter. The sleeves are shorter than same size outdoor clothing but since the width is larger it compensates. I would like that the sleeve be an inch or 2 longer but it not too short as it is, just right on. The sleeves measurements includes the cuffings. So definetely pick a size bigger than regular indoor clothing size to allow for growth and free movements.Quality and waterproof :This jacket is fleece lined. I also got the non-lined pants, on wich you can see that all seams are taped and that the inside of the material looks a bit like plastic, its actually laminated. The fleece lining is very soft. The outside material looks like any windproof jacket material and is soft as well. This item does not have the usual yellow thick waterproof clothing feeling it is much more light in weight, not bulky and allows for free movements. I love it! Also, my son got out in the rain to test it out. He sat in water pods and snow, played on his knees in muddy water while it rained : the water pearls on this material, 30min later he was completely dry (seams included) and the pants looked like they just got washed (the dirt does not stick to it at all).So for the non-lined I’d feel ok that hed go out at 0C degrees with them if playing and sitting in the snow but probably not less. For the fleece-lined (coat) I’d say -10C degrees with a sweater clothing under would be fine.He also loves the hood of this jacket, iThe opening is fit to the face shape and the cap holds straight foward so that the rain does not go into his face.I LLLOOVVEE THIS PRODUCT.It was about 4 C degrees out there and he was not cold at all (non-lined pants and lined coat with a long sleeve shirt and sweat pants he was toats hot when we got back in).Color and patterns:I got the gray with orange foxes and eagles jacket with the dark blue pants. The dark blue pants have a bit of purple in them and the eagles on the jacket are dark green. So I recommend to match this coat with the dark green pants instead of the dark blue. My hubby does not notice the pants color is not in the same hue than the blue from the coat pattern though.I totally recommed this product.

Good fits great and like the reflective strips
We tried the Hatley raincoats before and had to return it because the hood didn’t fit my 5 year old – no stretch at all, so tight, it was pulling his head down. So glad we went with Jan & Jul instead, the hood is sized way better and has a brim and the overall quality of the rain jacket is better too, the Hatley felt cheaply made. The reflective strips were also great for those darkening days.
great we have been using this brand for rain wear for a couple of year now. we like that the hand cuff is stretch to fit. It is not thin it has an fleece lining. great for light rain. Not for snow or anything that is extreme cold weather. and the design is colorful and exciting.
Nice coat for my toddler. The reflective strips are a great touch, since it gets dark so early this time of year. It is a waterproof layer with a light fleece lining. Overall I would say itâs medium-weight. Warm enough for temperatures in the 60s, wouldnât use it in colder weather (or put a sweater underneath).The sizing is huge though. We bought a 3T for my 2 year old and it was impossibly large. He just turned 3 and is still swimming in it. For example, we have to roll the sleeves up an inch. This will easily fit him til heâs 4, probably beyond. Heâs not a huge guy but heâs not tiny either – 75th percentile for height.
These are the only jackets I have bought for my son for several years running (as he grows). He even wears these in the winter in Seattle. I only send him to school in a thicker coat if it is below freezing and he says he stays plenty warm. I buy a size up so he can wear it for two years and that has worked well because of the elastic sleeves and the fact that the hood is more fitted and will still stay on his head when the jacket is a little big. We recommend this brand to all of our friends because it lasts and is great in the rain!
I love everything about this jacket: this Canadian brand really put some thoughts into this. It is fully waterproof, but breathable, lightweight but very warm, generous size but not bulky, has got adjustable hood with a sort of extension for extra protection in case of rain, the arms are quite long with an elasticated end, a very very cute and original design inspired on woodland and finally reflective stripes for visibility.Very good quality and resistant material, has been used daily also for outdoor sports and activities and didnât got ruined or permanently stained. The colours are always as bright as when we bought it despite having washed it several times!My son loved it: he can move freely, but it keeps him warm without overheating him like other rain gears do!
Runs a little big which I dont mind. My 3 year old can wear whatever under it but isnt necessary with how soft the inner layer is. Also super cute!
