got this little dude for my inflatable pool because i was always curious about the water temperatureyet all the thermometers “made for pool” i’ve seen in store are ridiculously basic and expensivethis one is a bit on the expensive side too BUT:- it’s cute as heck!- it’s digital- auto turns on when placed in water- easy to know with quick glance if too cold or hot (obviously, not useful in a pool context but for baby baths of course)- celsius/farenheit, easy switch with button- seems rather solid too (if kids throws it out the bath, let’s say)- floats perfectly- shuts down on its own after a few minutes- battery compartment can be opened to replace battery (don’t know if it affects the waterproof check though)- oh and: IT’S AN OTTER! IT’S CUTE AS HECK! hahahavery much recommended for its official purpose, but also useful for other temperature reading scenarios (perfect for the pool!)17$ CAD isn’t too bad honestly: sturdy, easy to use, cute as heck (don’t think i’ve mentioned this earlier)

Toy-like, reads in both C/F, accurate
Not as fast to recalibrate as other thermometers that are a bit more sensitive to temperature changes, ie. We have a thermometer that once out of water shuts off and when placedback into water gives a value right away, versus this thermometer is active for 15 minutes out of water and 40 minutes in water before sleep mode, so when placed back in water it uses the last value and calibrates up or down from it which takes longer.Very nice LCD display, screen and numbers are easily visible in the daylight. There is an easy C/F button switch on the back, labelled as such. Once it reached a temperature above 38.5, the indicator flashes red three times and the words HOT are intermittently written in the top left corner. Would be nice if the red light or writing stayed on incase you miss the quick warning. Looks like a very cute little toy-like gadget, either seal or kitten but definitely not a duck, which makes a great addition to your bath time toy collection and is sure to be a hit with your little ones.Wprks best in water. The instructions say the thermometer can be used for indoor temperature readings as well as bath water, but is less accurate. There is no setting to change it just leave it in the room, however if used to measure bath water it will take a while before the temperature decreases to a room temperature reading and hard to know when it’s accurate to read it.

Worked great but after a couple uses moisture started to build up inside and shortly thereafter the temperature rate began to show in the high 100s before eventually not turning on at all. I disassembled to dry out and wipe away corrosion but it wouldnât turn back on. Do not recommend.
Il termometro e’ davvero molto bello, al primo bagnetto tutto bene, soltanto che quando la bambina ha iniziato a giocarci, siccome i tastini di regolazione sono ben accessibili, credo lo abbia mandato in tilt. Praticamente dal secondo bagnetto non riusciamo più’ ad usarlo, ma sono sicura che sia stata mia figlia a schiacciare un po’ tutti i tasti ripetutamente. Quindi posso consigliare al produttore di fare in modo che i tasti di regolazione siano inaccessibili ai bambini ma solo ai genitori, magari sfruttando lo spazio nascosto intorno al vero e proprio termometro, quello coperto dal pupazzetto, potrebbe essere un’idea.
