There are two toy kits on this product page, an all musical instrument and musical instruments+toys, I am reviewing the musical instruments+toys.This is a great little set of toys and instruments, its will keep you child entertained for a long time. I would say 3+ is a safe starting age but depending on your childs dexterity I am sure you could go younger, I dont think there are choking hazards in this set. And children of all ages would always have fun with the instruments (I had fun as an adult) .The toys are solidly constructed for long term use. The only exception is the little drum, the membrane seems a little thin and could break eventually if given a sharp blow.There is a wide range of puzzles and instruments that would appeal to any childs interests and would keep them occupied and engaged for hours, even with short attention spans I notice that rather than get bored they just switch toys.This makes a great gift and is a great buy.
Small Instruments
This ensemble is made well, but are very small in comparison to a 3-5 year old as suggested in the description. They are sized more for 1-2 year olds, but are not designed to be handled by them unless under super strict supervision as they have small, loose parts. There are only a couple of instruments that can be used for 1-2 year olds, but once again I highly suggest full supervision. I do like that they are made out of wood and have a good finish on them, so durability expectation is good. These would be good for budding musicians and would prove to be beneficial for their development.
Wooden Musical Instruments
I gotta say my daughter was not happy I got her this but, the kids love it and itâs pretty noisy yet allows kids to be creative and learn about music.My smallest grand daughter who is 1.5 lives them. She is especially fond of smashing on the xylophone with the hammer and going crazy. She loves the other stuff too but the Xylophone is her favorite. There is also a sorting puzzle. We ended up tying the string in them so that she couldnât take them off cause she was putting the pieces in her mouth and we didnât want her to choke. She really loves all the toys and thinks they are fun. Music toys are always fun for kids and ear numbing for parents in the beginning but, they teach some very great skills so Iâll keep buying them for my kids for their kids. LolGreat sturdy set of wooden instruments.
