Great little machine!!!
This is a long overdue review, but I’ve been dealing with some health issues which interfered with “life”.I’m so impressed with this, wish I’d had it a long time ago. Leaps + bounds ahead of my ancient one I sold awhile back.Wanted to turn my Halloween pumpkin into puree to bake with. So expensive to buy it canned. Guesstimating this pumpkin was about 12lbs based on the other one I have waiting here. This pumpkin turned into over 12 cups of puree in no time flat. Took longer to measure + get it ready for the freezer than it did to puree.Looking forward to trying pie crust in it too, as soon as I feel better. I did make that in my old one as well as a little tiny stick blender. The extra space in this will mean I can make more than one crust at a time. This machine is a lovely size. Enough to make a more than a cup’s worth, but still easy enough to lift and maneuver around. Having two sets of bowls / blades is a big help too. Some recipes need you to mix more than one set of ingredients, so you have to stop + wash out the bowl/ blades.Had a tiny hiccup when first purchased. The company was very prompt/ friendly and generous!!!Very happy I chose to buy this!!!
Good for mincing or puree, but not for chopping
This is a pretty good little machine, if you want minced food, or puréed food.I had visions of it chopping my veggies into uniform chunks, but alas, it is not to be.The instructions say to chop your food up BEFORE placing it in the bowl. Dang.I wanted to see what this machine would do with a large chunk of carrot that I had peeled. (See photo with banana and ruler for scale). It was a pretty chonky piece of carrot. It was 4 inches tall and about 1-3/8 inches in diameter. It definitely wasn’t the little 1 inch cubes that were shown in the product photos. This chonky boy weighed 60 g. The instructions say not to exceed a load of 220 g, so this was about 1/4 of the max allowed.I ran the machine for 6 seconds on Speed 1. It ripped the carrot into uneven pieces. (See photo of carrot carcass in the bowl).I scraped out the carrot pieces onto a plate so that you could see the various sizes and shapes. (See photo of carrot piece on white plate)As you can see, the pieces range from larger jagged chunks to smaller little wee things. I think if I had run the machine another 6 seconds, I’d have an even, fine, mince. And then if i ran it again, it would probably be a coarse purée. I didn’t want minced carrots, so I didn’t keep going. I probably should have kept going just so we could all find out what the final minced result was, but I had already washed the blades and bowl before I thought of it, and I’d already dropped the blades TWICE during the washing process into the gaping maw of my garburator and had to fish it out and rewash it BOTH TIMES (ewww).Anyway, here are my thoughts:The machine is super easy to use. Apart from screwing the 2 blades together, no assembly is required. This machine makes fast work of mincing food. I think 20 seconds would do the trick for a thoroughly minced result. You have to keep your finger depressed on the button for the machine to work. If you lift off your finger, the machine stops. There are 2 buttons: Speed I and Speed II.The machine is noisy, but much less noisy than the Magic Bullet blender. I have to plug my ears whenever my kids run the Magic Bullet blender, but I didn’t need to plug my ears when I ran this machine. The kit comes with 2 bowls, as promised, the glass one and the metal one. Both have max fill lines indicated on their side. The metal bowl is thin and really lightweight. The glass bowl is heavy.I thought I’d be able to use these bowls for everyday use, not just in conjunction with the machine, but each bowl has a permanent spindle affixed to its bottom, on which you’re supposed to put the blade assembly. The spindle looks like a silver screw sticking up from the bottom, about an inch tall. So, I guess I could put food in that bowl, but the silver screw being there dissuades me from doing so.Each bowl comes with a silicone ring base on which the bowl can sit, to prevent it from sliding while you’re using the machine. The ring is very effective at keeping the bowl in place.Final impressions? Very efficient if you want your own ground meats. Perfect for making baby food out of fruit, veggies, or meat. Also a great way to mince veggies finely enough that you could sneak them into spaghetti sauce and your kids might not be able to detect them.5/5 Recommended
Versatile food chopper
Kitchen in the Box Food Processor ReviewToday, Iâm reviewing the Kitchen in the Box Food Processor, a handy appliance that comes with two bowlsâone made of glass and the other of stainless steel. Each bowl includes a rubber ring at the bottom to prevent slipping on your countertop. Inside, youâll find four stacked blades designed for chopping and cutting.Assembly and DesignAssembling the food processor is straightforward. The two sets of blades slide into each other, forming a stack of four, and are then placed on the bowlâs center post. Once your ingredients are added, the motor sits in place on the lidâs grooves. However, the motor doesnât lock in securely; it just sits on top, which I found a bit odd. Though the blades are safely enclosed inside, the motor could be pulled off during use.The motor has two speed settings, accessible via a push button, and seems best suited for pulsing and chopping rather than running continuously like a traditional food processor. This makes it more of a chopper/pulse processor.PerformanceIn use, this food processor excels at tasks like making salsa, chopping onions, tomatoes, breadcrumbs, and even whipping up quick mayonnaise. The stainless steel bowl, made of 304-grade steel, is rust-resistant and easy to clean, while the sturdy glass bowl is great for prepping and storing ingredients in the fridge. I also appreciate that the blades come with small guards to prevent accidental cuts. The motor is powerful and can handle larger quantities, making it ideal for bulk prep work. Unlike smaller choppers that max out at one or two onions, this processor can easily chop three to four, which is perfect for making sauces or salsas. However, with power comes sizeâthe bowls are quite large and can hold 2 to 3 cups of food, so storage might be an issue, especially if, like me, you already have a lot of kitchen gadgets.Clean-Up and Overall ThoughtsOne of the best features of this processor is that the motor is completely separate from the bowls, making clean-up a breeze. If youâre looking for a powerful, easy-to-clean chopper for kitchen prep work, I highly recommend the Kitchen in the Box Food Processor. It has great power, comes with two versatile bowls, and simplifies the chopping process.
I am impressed with how quickly, and finely chopped I can get stuff. Just did candy canes and it worked no issues. Saved me so much time. Then did walnuts and I had a 3lb bag chopped into various sizes within minutes. I have arthritis in my hands and this saved me so much pain in them. Worth every penny, and its a bigger size so you can do good amounts at a time. Rinsed out so easily and goes together easily.
This chopper comes with a metal and glass bowl, very sturdy and glass is very thick. I put in tomatoes to make chopper for my taco night and it did the job within seconds. Chops awesome. Would recommend.
I love this processor. I am older and have arthritis and it is a breeze to put together, and take apart and clean. It is so powerful! Two or three pulses and whatever you wanted to do is done. Best Value on Amazon in my opinion.
** Original review **It was promising, perfect size, not too big, not too small, I liked the way things fit together, seemed simple and well made but it isn’t well made at all because I pulsed it twice for a half second each and it never worked again. Will return and look elsewhere.Edit 11-21-24I was contacted by the seller who offered to replace the unit for free and so far so good. A very nice food processor.
I purchased this food processor to make chop mix for my parrot and it does an amazing job! Clean up is super simple, and I love the fact that it’s glass and not plastic. If you’re in the market for a compact yet powerful food processor, look no further and buy this product. You will be glad you did!
