Not the best design.
My 2 yr old can squish the silicone shapes into the wrong holes, plus the silicone actually makes it hard to get them through correctly… Silicone is just not a great material for a shape sorter in my opinion. The design of how to open and close the top is also not very easy to put back on by himself. I would suggest the top be a swing open top, and the shapes be made out of plastic (usually I think less plastic the better, but in this case silicone just doesn’t work well.)
These Learning Resources Spike The Fine Motor Hedgehog Poppin’ Shapes Sorter toys were a great choice for our Grandson! He is fascinated with these little boxes and I think this was a really good purchase for his age group (1 year old).

The colors are pretty. The shapes are made of soft silicone though, and are easily deformed by a toddler’s grip. When my 2 year old daughter grabs a shape it either doesn’t fit in the right hole or can be squeezed into all of them. Maybe hard plastic would have been better.
