Cute and functional
This cute little magnetic fishing set is super fun for the boys in the tub. It is a great way to get them excited to jump in the bath. It looks just like the pictures online and it is a challenge for them to “fish” for the magnetic fish outside of the tub so I can bath them while they play. Very cute and fun in or out of the tub.

Couldn’t believe just how many fish came in the kit. Honestly didn’t have the patience to count them all. The fishing rods are telescopic though and the smallest guides on the very top had some trouble staying on so I had to super glue them onto the rods. No big deal. The “reels” don’t cast though – which is probably a good thing because you can’t trust kids with projectiles – so the only way to increase the length of the string is to “un-reel” them. Once they reach their full length (which really isn’t that long) they start going back up again, so you can tell that they’re anchored to a single axle on the inside. Unfortunately, you’re stuck with reeling with your right hand since you can’t change the position of the handle, and it does click rather loudly when you reel. You also don’t have a choice of lure since the turtle magnet is the only one with a loop on the back; HOWEVER, it’s definitely possible to untie it and put your own magnet on if you wish.As for the experience, I won’t lie that my niece and I had a blast fishing in the tub. But you are kind of limited by the length of the line, so it’s more like dipping than it is fishing. The little plastic nets were a great learning tool though since you can’t boat flip every fish in real life. lol Part of me is disappointed that the reels don’t cast, but you can’t expect miracles with such a small set. Really glad the rods are telescopic though because it saves on storage space and reduces the risk of accidental breakage. But you’ll need a sizable bucket or container for all the fish that’s for sure. Loving the handle length too because they fit my hands like a glove. A fun and portable set!

Cute fishing toy
The set comes with two telescopic fishing rods, two nets, and a whole bunch of sea creatures.Everything looks very cute. The magnet is surprisingly strong. I was able to pickup an entire pack of creatures. See my pictures. This is a great game for practicing eye hand coordination.Itâs supposed to come with a green and a blue rod. Mine are both blue. The reel makes a ratcheting sound when wound and unwound. Unfortunately, the unwinding doesnât really work. You have to pull hard on the string while unwinding. The little ones will need help with this. For these two issues, Iâm deducting one star.4 Stars
Smooth edges, rods collapse for storage.
This is a nice toy for our grandchildren to go fishing in our bathtub,a summer wading pool in the backyard, or on the floor in the playroom.While the pieces are hollow, the only way water will get inside the pieces is if there is a crack that allows water to fill the void, allowing mould growth. All the pieces have smooth edges, and I especially like how the rods collapse for storage.
Functional but quality is subpar.
The build quality of this is basically dollar store quality. The ends of the fish just have screws stuck into them in order to provide the necessary magnetic attachments, and the plastic is not the greatest quality. The rod does extend and stay extended via friction, and the reel works well to release/pull in the fishing line. The magnet is plenty strong and has no problem pulling up the fish. My main gripe is that this set is $25. Sure you get a lot of pieces, but it’s definitely more of a quantity over quality situation here. If you have a kid that tends to be harsh on toys and you just need…. A lot of something, this may actually be a good deal because the quantity means you can handle a few lost/broken fish or even fishing rod. But if you’re looking for something of a more reliable and well-built nature, it’s best you look elsewhere. Still, 4 stars because it’s a large amount of toys for what you pay.

I keep a toy box at my house for my grandkids. That is always the first place they run to see if thereâs something new in the box. There was just the other day a fishing game!This oneâs a cute little set that uses magnets to âfishâ. Comes with two poles that actually have a little reel on them. It goes up and down as well. Thereâs also 35 plastic fish of different kinds and if you want, thereâs a little basket to catch fish as well.Thereâs so many ways you could use this game. Just straight fun – see if you can get one. Can you get two at the same time? Do little challenges – can you find two that are the same? Change where you play on the living room rug, in the bathtub, or outside in your water table and more. Itâs a fun way to count and observe. The kids had a lot of fun with this one.From what I see the items are put well together. However I always advise keeping an eye on toys with small pieces. Listed as BPA free.
Fishing fun
I got this item for my kids 2 and 5 years old. They are obsessed with fish and fishing. They love the challenge of fishing and get fishes in Magnetic string. They are learning patience, and developing good hand-eye coordination. The finishes are small in size and no assembly required. It’s a good quality toy. Would give a 4 star as would be nice for this price to have a storage bag with the set to keep all of them organized.
