Melissa and Doug products are very durable and these puzzles are no different. Perfect for little hands to put pieces in easily. I did notice that using batteries from a dollar store the sound is not as loud but name brand batteries the sound was louder and clearer.

This is a top quality puzzle and my two grandsons have had great enjoyment playing with this puzzle. They have been able to easily hold the pieces and put them in the proper spots. They have learned the sounds of the animals and the names of them as well. The puzzle is made with top quality wood and is nothing less than I would have expected from Melissa and Doug. I have bought their products before and have been just as happy with this puzzle as I have with every thing else of theirs that I have purchased. The pictures on the puzzle are beautifully coloured and bright. I would recommend this puzzle to anyone with little ones. The battery has lasted for a year without dulling at all. I would buy more of their puzzles hands down, and recommend you try them as well.

Wonderful teaching product.
I bought this for my grandson and he loves playing with it. It is durable fun and engaging for him to use is and plays again and again. But more importantly he has learned to identify and also learn each of the animals names and sounds. Wonderful.
Worth the money
My son( 2.4) has two others of these sound puzzles and he loves them.He is a bit behind on speech and these definitely help.We play âkeeper of the puzzle piecesâ where i hold pieces from all 3 puzzles in a pillow case. 1 at a time i pull one out and i tell him what it is(holding it by my mouth), then tell him something about that thing. ( example boat- a boat goes in the water)After a few times of playing this game, he started to try to say some of the words so it worked out great.He really likes helping me shake the pieces in the pillow case to mix them up.I asked a question for this sound puzzle to see if it had an on/off switch like the others as the reviews were stating it didn’t. I was told no, however, the one i got does indeed have one on the back by the battery compartment so maybe they improved it.On/off switches are definitely desirable to any parent, so i was happy about that!I love these puzzles for my son and I hope they keep making more.

Yes but No
My 18-month old kid loves and her friends too! Do I like it? Not sure about that…Of course I like seeing my kid playing with this toy but, the animal sounds are crazy, especially the zebra one!! Also, it works and stops working for no reason…which is not the worst part. The worst part is when you put your kid in bed and you tip-toe to leave the bedroom in silence and begin to close the door and…the elephant begins its crazy sounds just like that, no reason!!!! Or when you’re ‘alone’ in your living-room and suddently the snake begins to make noise and OMG you look everwhere because maybe you’re not as alone as you think…Well, to make it brief, my kid loves it but I don’t (so 2.5 stars)…yes, I know I should take out the battery.

I bought this for my nephew who’s interest is jigsaws. It’s a lovely, sturdy, colourful jigsaw which has the sounds of the animals as an additional bonus.As always with Melissa and Doug products, it’s great value.The pegs on the pieces are great for developing fine motor skills too
