A nice mattress for camping, guests, kids, and pets
I had been looking for a proper narrow mattress (25 inches wide) to fit a sleeping bag, and this was one of the few options available. It’s very nicely made out of three 25 x 25 inch squares of regular firm beige single density foam (no multi layered memory foam with structural core bla bla bla). I did not notice any odor to it and was able to use it the same night (it fully expanded in minutes). The three squares fit into a nice soft folding mattress cover that is 100% removable with zippers if you ever felt like washing it. If you intend to travel with it a lot, some people have recommended the optional carry case as a good investment (which it likely is) to keep it from getting dirty. Personally, I wrapped it in a wool blanket and put it in a corner with a cheap sleeping bag on top as a cat bed when I’m not using it. When folded, it’s 12 inches tall and the width of a couch cushion, making it just tall enough to sit on like a bean bag. If you have kids or pets, that might be more useful than putting it in a closet where it will take up space. I took it tent camping as I was looking to get a better sleep than I normally do on a 3/4 inch closed cell foam pad and I was not disappointed. I couldn’t feel any bumps or roots on the ground and my hip and tail bone both got the support they needed to wake up pain free. For reference, I’m 5′.9″ and about 185 lbs. I even used it for a week at home while I was waiting for a new mattress for my main bed. Apart from being a little narrow for daily use, the mattress was very comfortable. When it comes to cost, there are slightly wider twin options for nearly the same price which might be better for guest sleepovers and cottages (unless you are used to using a sleeping bag). For camping (Tent, RV, Cottage, Cabin, etc…) this is a great comfort option as long as you have the space to bring it or store it (might not work if you need to fit five people plus gear into a car). When I mentioned the price to some people, they thought it was a little pricey for a 25″ camping foam, but I found it very reasonably priced for a mattress. I think the twin would be an easier sell value wise as no one will compare it to a $10 roll up exercise mat. Having said that, I had a better night sleep than the people who questioned the value and can’t imagine a more comfortable way to go car camping. Worth every penny and very multi-function.
This mattress is very comfortable, and was exactly what I was looking for.
I was interested in this mattress for a number of reasons:1. I had just moved out, far away and needed a bed. Something inexpensive, but quality (sounds too good to be true, right?) I wasn’t sure what kind of bed I wanted yet, but since I hadn’t found a place yet and was staying with a friend who lived in a bachelors suite, I decided that something more “portable” would be convenient, especially because…2. I was a temporary guest and didn’t know how many places I’d be staying in until I found my own place. I needed a bed that could be moved around, and for that, a standard mattress is just not going to work. The folding aspect was also appealing since…3. I would need a guest bed when I got my own place. This bed was meant to be temporary for me until I got a larger one. Something that could be tucked away was important, but so was comfort, because…4. Everyone in my family who would be staying with me has back problems, including me. Especially my mom. Finding something that was also comfortable enough for my mom’s bad back was very important, since she would be visiting often and her health is obviously important.I got exactly what I wanted and needed, and I was very pleased with my purchase. I haven’t had any guests over yet to try it out, but the friend I was staying with was renting a furnished apartment and her bed was absolute garbage. She has very little money and also needed something inexpensive, but quality. When she tried my new bed she was very impressed. She hasn’t gotten one yet since she has no money, but I believe it’s one of the things she’s saving for.An unexpected but welcomed surprise was that I discovered that this bed (I have the twin) is longer then the standard twin mattress. Despite thinking that finding sheets that would fit would be harder (which turned out to not be true) I was pleasantly surprised by this. I don’t remember reading that it was a Twin XL but I’m glad it is- it makes it so much more comfortable when you can stretch out and not dangle off the edge.One downfall: While this mattress is good for a guest bed and dragging it in the closet/under your bed, it is pretty awkward to transport if your taking it out of the house. I imagine the carry case (which is ridiculously expensive) makes it much easier, partially because you’re not worried about putting it down on the dirty floor. But without it, it’s bulky and there’s no good place to grab and hold onto it. Because of this awkwardness it also causes it to feel heavier when moving. When carrying it up to my new place, I actually asked my friend to come over to help me with it.Also, this is a minor concern since it is temporary, but the gassing did give me quite a headache. I am prone to getting headaches easily, so if you are sensitive to this then you will want to let the mattress air out in another room for a couple weeks before you use it.All in all, this is a good quality product, and I would definitely recommend it to others. I’ve been sleeping in this bed for 3 months now and I have no complaints; I’m even considering getting the larger version for my bedroom.
Great quality and comfort
I have used this mattress on the floor for a week, and it is excellent. Very comfortable, and quality seems very good. Very convenient to be able to fold away during the day. Others have said they have had issues with the mattress pieces separating, but I think this wouid only happen on a hard floor. If you are on a carpet the pieces stay together perfectly. Will see how long-term durability is, but so far happy with this purchase – usually worth it to pay a little extra for a reputable brand.
Great idea but a little too firm
I bought this for sleeping in my 4-door Jeep. I had to cut some off the end for length but it fits perfectly for width. My ONLY issue is with how hard it is. I like firm mattresses, but this one is a little hard for a side sleeper. It is still better than an air mattress but it takes some getting used to. The cover is very soft and nice! Very handy that it zips off and can be washed. The best part about it is that it folds up nice so it doesn’t take up too much space. It would be nice if they included a bag to store and carry it though, without having to buy something extra. I keep in the plastic it came in but it’s full of holes now 🙁

OK first of all I purchased this mattress to use inside my SUV for camping! One of the reasons why I chose this mattress was because of the trifold design, it makes it easy to get it in and out of the back of my 2017 Santa Fe Sport Ultimate AWD. So to answer all the standard questions such as yes the shipping was faster than expected, arrived in great shape and wasn’t too bulky or heavy for one person to deal with. It took less than an hour for it to reach full size after being compressed for shipping so no problems there. There was a slight “wet house paint” smell to the mattress, but that went away fast so it was not an issue at all, in fact I found it quite pleasant! I tested it out on the floor and it was very supportive not even the slightest chance of feeling what was under you I know because I put several objects underneath the mattress before I laid on it to see if I could feel them, this was important to me because as I mentioned it will be going in the back of my SUV on an un-even surface, and I should mention I weigh 240 pounds! First of all let me just say it is super comfortable with the memory foam top layer, I was intending to originally make my own from Raw materials but I could not have done as good a job making it comfortable. I had to remove some of the bottom, primary layer of regular foam to accommodate the wheel wells and what not inside my SUV for a perfect fit however, I left the top layer of memory foam in tact. I am so glad I found this mattress it was perfect for my needs, I ordered the full size mattress. I would not hesitate to order a queen size for use in my home, it is a very well-made product that is super comfortable, portable and stores in a small space and the price was certainly worth every penny! I will be adding some handles to the fabric sides of the material covering the foam for ease of handling when folded. I will add some pictures of my unique installation if anyone is interested in how to make a perfect camping bed that will fit in most SUVs!
I cannot sing enough praises for both the quality and comfort of the mattress, but also for the company itself. My Mom (who is almost 80) came for a visit with her friend. I ordered the mattress late, having just gotten over covid I wasn’t even sure if I’d be ok by the time they were to come so everything was on pause, and the order went in late. I ordered this because though I do have a cot I did not think it was going to be comfortable enough for my Mom and because she was not able to get upstairs to the guest bedroom she had to stay downstairs. The company immediately shipped right out, which I so appreciate, and though the mattress did not arrive the day they got here it DID arrive exactly the day it noted on the order sheet, and they tried to get it here as fast as possible. My Mom slept (or rather didn’t sleep) on the cot the first night, was not very comfortable for her. This mattress showed up the next night, I set it on the sofa/coffee table square, which was exactly the width of the mattress, and two chairs for the end support, sounds awkward but I didn’t want her to have to get down on the floor. I also ordered the fitted sheet, fits like a glove and well made, also ordered the storage case for the XL mattress, fits like a glove and no dog hair or dust getting on it. Back to the comfort.. so I set the mattress up for my Mom, it was about normal bed level, I laid on it myself to test, felt like a dream, got it ready, my Mom got on it and told me it was SO comfortable she thinks she was asleep before I even got upstairs!! She did not toss and turn at all because it held her so comfortably, making this daughter SO happy because it was my Mom’s first time at my new house and I wanted her trip to be great. She slept on the mattress the next 2 nights she was here, slept like a baby each time. The tri-fold is not noticeable at all, did not separate, was absolutely PERFECT, and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat! I will be taking this mattress, instead of my cot, to my Mom’s if I bring a friend along. Also seems like it will work perfectly in the back of my Honda in case I’d like to put down a seat and camp in comfort going cross country. I am utterly thrilled with the quality, comfort, and company behind this mattress. I would give 100 stars if I could, so happy for reading reviews and making the right choice. I thought my camping days were over. I’m female, 62 and weigh 283. I can’t use a cot (even an extra wide one) and I don’t dare use an air mattress – if it leaked during the night, I’d be SOL, just like I was with my extra wide cot that I sank in during the night and couldn’t get out of!!! What a horrible experience! I luckily found this Milliard mattress online and spent quite awhile reading other reviews. After reading one review in particular, I decided to buy the 6″ Twin Extra Long Mattress along with a Twin Extra Long PragmaBed Simple Base Bi-fold frame . . . I am now in CAMPING HEAVEN!!! Finally, I can go camping again in my new tent and not have to worry about sleeping accommodations. The 6″ mattress is AWESOME and folds in thirds which takes up less space than a real twin mattress (only thing is, I wish it had its own carrying bag, which it doesn’t …. so I’ll have to make one myself) – I still LOVE the mattress. It is TOTALLY comfortable (firm but not hard) – better than my own bed and it definitely holds my weight well, whether I’m on my back or my side – it’s great! I’m so glad I found this mattress, and I highly recommend it for anyone who goes camping – THROW THOSE AIR MATTRESSES AWAY – You won’t ever need to worry about waking up on the ground again – This mattress is PERFECT and goes along perfectly with the Pragma folding bed frame, which sits 14″ off the floor (you’ll need a rug underneath the entire frame just so the posts don’t rip your tent floor). Both products are AWESOME and will make your camping life so much better. They both fold up and go nicely in the back of a Truck or an SUV. The mattress would probably fit in the trunk of a car, but with nothing else inside. The mattress size when folded is 38″ long x 18″ deep x 26″ high. The frame might be a little too big depending on how large your trunk is (the frame is strong and sturdy yet lightweight). HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Milliard 6″ mattress – I wouldn’t go anything less than the 6″. Also when I opened the box and cut the plastic away, the compressed mattress started forming to shape almost immediately (it’s amazing how it does that) and there wasn’t really any smell to it. What little there was went away by the next morning. I can’t say enough about this 6″ mattress – It’s more than PERFECT. Milliard just needs to make a carrying case to go along with the bag and sell it separately for those of us who just need to buy the bag. LOVE THIS PRODUCT – LOVE LOVE LOVE. Thank you Milliard for giving me the chance to go camping again!
This is well constructed. Hopefully the removable/washable cover is easy to remove and recover. This size fits perfectly on top of my sofa for extra comfort for sofa sleepers. And would work well on the floor too. My only quibble is that the storage bag should be included, and not an extra purchase⦠nearly HALF the price of the mattress itself!
