In case the other reviews have not made it abundantly clear, these are NOT legos, and they are NOT compatible with Lego bricks. You may be thinking that duplo and other Lego products are somewhat compatibleâno, these are not. These bricks are like scale models of legos, just shrunk down by like 30 percent.That being said, they work great with one another and make for a fun building experience, just donât expect to be adding to your Lego collection. The smaller size did make the tiny pieces a bit harder to manage (sometimes even sticking to my fingers because they are so light), and strangely difficult for my younger kid to snap together.I will say too that Lego really has things figured out from an engineering perspectiveâ this set had lots of assembled parts snap off in the process of assembling other sections, which doesnât happen that often with modern Lego sets. And the instructions in this set may be hard for younger kids to follow under the age of maybe 8, whereas Lego instruction booklets are clear enough that a 5 year old can handle most builds. It was even confusing for me when the first page of the instructions said to open bag 1. There are three bags marked as âdisassembly 1â (as well as three bags marked with a 2 and three with a 3), and you are supposed to open all three of these bags for each section of the build. Easy enough to sort out (for an adult), but it really makes you appreciate how well Lego does it.All in all a fun brick-building set, but with a big âBUYER BEWAREâ included.
The instructions were terrible and it was missing pieces
This is a very cute set, but not really comparable to your average Lego set. These are much, much smaller pieces. And there are many pieces. Still fun and still doable.My 10 year old was working on the set and it took time. The instructions were able to be followed. But it seemed not as simple or as intuitive as Legos. And I recognize that I should not compare, but that is really the benchmark.Also – they are priced comparable to legos. So that I something to consider as well.
