Welcome to MiniTouch: Toys! A gorgeous, giftable touch-and-feel book for little ones from birth upwards. Introduce a range of toys and first shapes, and boost motor skills with sensory touch-and-feel fabrics.

The MiniTouch series for babies aged 0-3 is packed full of developmental benefits. Fresh, stylish, and playful, with gently rhyming text, each book makes a beautiful addition to your child’s play-space or book-shelf, forming an eye-catching collection.

The content of each book covers core early learning concepts. There are two layers of learning: the first being topic-themed, such as toys, and the second being learning-based, such as first shapes. The playful rhyming text is perfect for engaging your child and will help develop their rhythm and rhyme, as well as bringing added context to each new word. Each book in the series features a unique range of touch-and-feel areas, which are ideal for developing your child’s motor skills as well as aiding sensory development. Fabrics such as corduroy and metallic PVC feel fashionable and contemporary, as well as importantly providing a wide range of textures for a multi-sensory experience.

Reviews

  1. This is such a lovely book with a whole range of touch and feel sections within itThey feel calmer with the colours used than some other bright ones out thereFor the current selling price of around £6.50, I’d say this is a nice book for the price. I like how there’s others in the set you can buy too.

  2. My niece is 1 and she loves books like this. She loves exploring sensory items and different textures and this book is perfect for this. We have started to introduce new shapes and the best way to do this initially is by sensory stories like this. Some of her favourite toys are sensory toys with textures as she loves feeling them and this book is perfect for it as it has a range of different textures and sensory experiences as well as incorperating shapes which makes it more interesting and engaging which makes her more likely to learn and retain the shapes which is exactly what we want. She also loves turning the page of the books and she goes to grab this all the time now. The colours are also bright and beautiful which again makes it more engaging for the babies eye. She loves it and it is helping her learn by making connections between different things

  3. I’m a big fan of sensory play with the really little ones and this book ticks all of the boxes. It’s a thick and chunky board book, perfect for the little ones to practice their grip with items that aren’t too delicate. The images are colourful but not too bright with various images in the book have textured surfaces for the little one to explore. From rubbery smooth surfaces to ones with more texture this book is a great intro to exploration of various textures. A big thumbs up from me!

  4. Although simple looking, these are well-thought out little books and they are much better than other, similar books. My baby has two other board books on the topic of shapes: one Roald Dahl and one Gruffalo. Neither of them are as good as this one. The Roald Dahl one has a one set of pages with shapes to touch, but that’s it.This MiniTouch book has the shape illustrated in a smooth form and friendly face on the left and it is made relevant in some fashion on the right, for example, a square is shown in blocks and a circle is shown as a ball. What’s more, the figures on the right each have parts that are interesting to touch such as an elevated cloud within the set of blocks and a nice bumpy, shiny engine of a car for the oval. The last set of pages feature three shapes and a house with all of them included, along with others. The language is simple and relevant to the pictures. If I had to choose now, I would definitely choose this one.

  5. My young child adores touch and feel books, so this is the perfect gift for them. The Mini touch book feels well made and put together, coated in wipeable finish this book is great for encouraging and improving motor skills and sensory development. This particular book focuses on Touch and feel first shapes with small phrases. It’s well thought out and put together offering good value for money.
