Amazing product! My toddlerâs closet is two sets of bifold doors. He has pinched his hands in the doors a couple of times and we were about to buy a slide latch at the hardware store and lock the doors that way. Then I found this product. Iâm kicking myself for not having looked sooner! No tools are needed to install – you just slap it on the top of one panel of the bifold (open) you want to lock, then close the door and slide the lock into place right over the joint between the doors. My toddler can shove the couch several feet while my husband is laying on it, heâs super strong, and he is unable to open the doors with the lock in place. Excellent product, excellent price, would absolutely buy again and suggest to all parents I know!
Bought one, immediately bought two more
We have three bifold doors, two cats, and one problem. I bought one of these to lock the pantry door, because the cats try to get in there all the time to get to their food. It works great! Doesn’t mark or damage the doors, very easy to install and use, fits perfectly, and is unobtrusive. Well, the little fuzzballs immediately abandoned the pantry door for the two doors to the main closet, so I bought two more of these the next day. We’ll see what they pick next, but for now, problem solved at a very reasonable price.

So simple, so effective
This is simply a plastic bracket that fits on the top of your doors. When it overlaps between both halves, the door cannot be opened. When you slide it so it no longer overlaps, the door can be opened. Nothing to assemble, screw or glue, just open the door, slide the bracket on one half, close the door and slide the bracket back on both halves so it overlaps. There is a small plastic lever to facilitate access to sliding the bracket, however it will only work on doors where both halves are perfectly level (which happened for none of the three doors I installed these on), but it’s not essential to the apparatus. Sliding the bracket itself, however, is easy enough, and the principle is so simple and effective that this wouldn’t warrant losing a star at all. There is also a two-sided adapter so the bracket will fit on any of the three universal door widths. My three doors didn’t require the adapter at all (so I presume they are the widest standard width). Problem solved!

I bought these when we bought a new house that had bifold doors in the closets. I wasnât expecting much as Iâve tried other alternatives in the past, but boy are these good. Super easy to install and hold up really well. Cats are mad because they canât figure out how to get in the closets but definitely doing what I wanted it too lol. And for that price how can you go wrong!

Had to buy a second one because I didn’t realize it goes on the hinged part of a bifold door. For some reason, I thought it would go in the middle of two doors. Don’t make the same mistake as me if you have a double-door closet! :)It doesn’t have any instructions except for some vague images, which was a bit annoying but only took a minute to figure out what all the pieces were for.
Simple, a bit cheap’ish, but in the end they work
I’m not really sure where to begin. There is a thin pencil like tube that was has no instructions as to what it is or what it does. I later came to decide for myself and figure it’s some sort of handle if the lock is high and you’re a shorter person.The slide lok comes with a spacer that I needed to use. We purchased two of these. It was unfortunate only 1 per pack, it really should be two considering most homes have two doors. I’ll admit, I expected more from it considering the retail packaging isn’t too bad and looks good, but it’s really only a piece of plastic that slides on the top of the door.You slide it to the left or right away from the middle to unlock the door and back in the middle when you want to lock it. It does the job, but with a word of caution. One of mine already broke from my 6 year old son just pulling on the door one day. It still holds the door locked, so i didn’t ask for a replacement since i believe it was my own fault, not amazon or the seller.Short version: They work, it’s very simplistic, but they work and they work well. Has kept my son out of the closet away from stuff I don’t want him playing with.
So, I got this product because of my cats rather than a child (currently pregnant so I am sure it will still be in use in the future!). It works perfectly to keep my cats out of the closets I do not want them in such as a pantry and my linens closet. It fits perfectly too on average size accordion doors, however if you have thicker than normal doors, I don’t believe it will fit. It is perfect for 1 1/3-inch widths, it does not scratch the paint and is fairly easy to move on that measurement, for anything thicker you would want to look into an alternative like this. The slides come with this little plastic stick you are supposed to use to move it, however it is very flimsy and easier just to move the slide itself (I am 5’8 so I find this option easiest as I can reach it and place it exactly where I want it to be). If you are on the shorter side, it is still moveable by the stick, but the stick doesn’t go down far for obvious reasons so be aware of that. Another great thing about this product is that even if a child, or in my case a cat, pulls at the door relentlessly and even shakes it the slide does not move. It stays in place under a lot of stress; however, it is plastic so keep in mind it is not indestructible. Overall, I think this is a great product for the price of it and has made keep my cats out of trouble very easy!
Bought this to be able to lock internal bi-fold doors to stop a kitten from destroying the house at night and it works a treat! Very strong. Would say it is well worth purchasing if you need to lock these kind of doors. Would definitely purchase again.
Our bathroom door slides and our puppy just burst into it to open it. The slide-lok has been very handy in keeping him out even when he runs towards the door, so it is very sturdy. Definitely recommend it if you have a very persistent and sneaky dog.
Helps keep the bifold yard door from opening up when Iâm hanging out my laundry (it gets windy, and the lock on the yard door is faulty) We live in a high rise with 2 cats and this stops them from inadvertently entering the yard when the windows are wide open. Has given me much peace of mind.
Super easy to set up, and easy to slide open and closed. Got it to keep my cats out of the closets and itâs doing its job!
