Great little machine
Tried to find a decent (never mind good!) manual grinder in the local stores or elsewhere online. Was looking for stainless steel or cast aluminum with no luck. Everything I looked at in stores was so poorly done: badly machined parts, badly fitting together – it is not funny, the quality is going down the drain. It seems the same stuff is sold online. Came across this little beauty and its reviews, had reservations about it being plastic. Well worth every penny. Well designed! Well made! Works well! I hope Norpro keeps making it to the same quality standard in the future.
Feels like its going to break soon though
Somewhat doing it’s job. Feels like its going to break soon though. Would recommend for VERY LIGHT usage – as in once a month grinding maybe max 5lbs of meat or stuffing sausages. Other than that, not meant to be used weekly on loads more than 5lbs
Surprisingly Great Value for the Price
This actually does the job for which I purchased it. It has ground every type of meat I have needed so far. The suction bottom does not stay very well but that has not significantly affected the performance. I have not tried making pasta as yet but will probably attempt it at some point. It is easy to clean and stores compactly. I think it is great for the price.
Poor quality
Plastic container part (hopper) cracked after 4 months of usage. According to the reviews, this is typical for this grinder.No warranty for this product despite higher price than of competitors.Poor quality, not adequate for this price.The manufacturer sells on its website all spare parts except plastic container. I think they do it deliberately knowing that customer would have to buy the new product instead.Check manufacturer reviews on Google if you still thinking to buy this product.
Will not be sucked on countertop
Good one and can be cleaned thoroughly. But it could not be sucked on countertop as it is supposed to be.
One happy grinder !…..
Manufacturer in using plastic did a masterful design job of solid, well designed components. The result is a grinder that is robust and will withstand the pressures needed to grind and mince. Its firm vacuum grip on a formica counter top is truly amazing. Every component used in assembling the grinder for use is a work of art. Breakdown for clean up is quick and thorough requiring only a few minutes wash in the sink with a good dish detergent. Having ground many pounds of beef roasts, steaks, stewing beef ect with never the slightest problem I could not be more pleased.
Terrific Product and Worth Every Penny
Having struggled over many years using the screw attachment on a number of models of meat grinders (ie. attach to counter surface by a clamp) I have encountered two annoying traits. First, they do not attach well and there is a struggle to grind while trying to keep the clamp in place. Second, no matter how rigourous I’ve been in washing and drying them, they inevitably rust somewhere. This Norpro Grinder has changed the game.It stays firmly attached to my granite counters (good suction on a nonporous surface) and the multiple size plates allow me to select the desired fineness of the grind easily. After 50 years of cooking, this is the best hand grinder I have used and would highly recommend it. I have not used the pasta making function so no comment to offer.
Quality unsatisfactory!
The lock knob broke off on 2nd time use, there is no information about the manufacturer that I can contact for replacement part. So frustrated!
