Do NOT buy these cups!!!! Nuby makes another cup very similar to this but with a different type of clear valve than the one in this cup. The other ones have 2 notches on the left and right side on the lid that hold the valve in place. Those have been perfect for us. The problem with this valve is that it’s hit or miss if you will get valves that will allow you to suck liquid through. I contacted Nuby about the problem. 1 out of the 3 in this pack of cups would not suck any liquid. They sent a replacement pack of 2 more and they both didn’t work either. They claimed it was user error. In the end Nuby customer service did send me a different type of cup so nuby was easy to work with. It was most definitely not user error though. My toddler threw the cup in frustration so we had 4 adults test all 3 cups (2 that had functioning valves and the 1 that did not and also the replacement pack of 2 that didn’t work) 4 adults all agreed that liquid could not be sucked through. Also, toddlers like to chew on the straws, these did not hold up to that, not at all! They leaked from the straw badly. The other Cups I referred to have been fine. So this was a long story, but the bottom line is buy at your own risk of getting some that won’t suck liquid through.
Over the past three years, my wife and I have bought a dozen of these bottles. They are decent, but definitely have problems. The pros are that the kids love them, love the colors, have an easy time drinking from them, and hold them with ease. The cons are that it doesn’t take much of a fall to have the plastic crack, and they do occasionally leak. The leaking issue seems to be more with the 3 we got from this amazon purchase. The plastic nipple gets misaligned often, and is hard to adjust. Because of the misalignment, the bottle leaks. It’s mostly frustrating because it happens often, and takes time that we often don’t have to adjust. We started using older lids that have the problem far less frequently and only use the new lids in emergencies.
We have tried haakaa which is awesome for smaller kids, but once they figure out how to squirt with the sippy cups, itâs a nightmare. I canât believe this ones are so inexpensive. I ended up trying them because they were a gift and I love them now itâs the only brand I buy.
The tops are hard to screw on, and they are not leakproof. Do not recommend.
