A must have for kittens and wood kittens
My kitten is from an outdoor wild cat litter.Transition to home was done quickly due to the situation and not having enough time to do it as I wish I couldâve.I crate train my kitten to have him build confidence and his first night was awfull. Him being used to be out in an outdoor grange spending his day between wood logs and the other kittens of his litter, he was terrified of being indoor.The noises, the different smells, the lights, vibrations of the floor, everything.The poor one spent his night crying and meowing.I needed something to soothe him. I started looking only for soothing kitten must haves/toys/aids and found this toy. The texture and plush on the head part is perfect as the rest is empty. The purring sound really mimics a real cat purring sound. I was afraid it would sound really fake but no!His first day home after his first terrible night, we received it as I had bought it during the night, being unable to sleep and to sooth the poor kitten as quick as possible.And wow!It helped him acclymatizing and gaining confidence. It helps him get to sleep mode and to sleep whenever night times comes. It soothes him and able him to calm his terrified fazes.Perfect for crate training (I have my kitten in a large dog crate with a litter, toys, small cat tree and a blankie) and for having them getting used to new environment because he was a forest kitten.Our second night together was way better! I was only woked up arround 5:30 am instead of consistent cryings all night having me to not sleep at all.He started feeling way more confident indoor today, walking with less fear arround and almost none anymore.He would look at walls and ceillings being completely terrified before.If you are doubting on getting this, just get it, this is the best purchase I did for my new little fur oneð
Comfort for our furkids at a time of loss
Purchased for our furkids to share, for comfort after the beloved matriarch of the family crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our boy Nikola isn’t all that into it, but both our girls love to cuddle with it. I was skeptical of the purring sound, as it is a bit loud and, at least to my ears, doesn’t particularly resemble purring. However it meets with feline approval which is all that matters. It is well made. Very soft to the touch. We are now looking into purchasing another Petstages cuddle toy for them. A good, affordable cuddle toy. Recommended.
It does what it’s supposed to!
This toy is really cute. I let my cat inspect it before turning on the sound because I didn’t want to spook him, it’s kind of loud for a purr and clangy sounding. It turns on with the press of a good sized and easy to find button through the fabric. The purr lasts about a minute and i find if it’s laying on the speaker side, then it’s more realistic sounding. The pitch of the purr goes up and down so it would be pretty natural sounding when muffled. The material is very soft and fluffy but it’s flat, there is no stuffing. My cat loved it and dragged it to the top of his tower and sat with it, playing with the fuzzy tail. I think if it did have stuffing my cat would have difficulty toting it around. The sound definitely gets draws him to it as he comes running from another room when i turn it on. It should be movement activated i think because the button is not made for the soft pushes a cat makes. A dog would probably break it without stuffing so i gave it 4 stars for those 2 reasons.
Just a toy for my kitten.
I bought this product for my three month old Tonkinese kitten. She keeps on suckling on my left arm and shoulder and kneading me at various times of the night.I thought that buying this plush toy would calm her anxiety and maybe distract her from digging her claws into my shoulder. Unfortunately she considers this toy more as a toy for play. She will bite into it and throw it around then hide it under the couch with her other toys.It is a nice toy though. It is very plush and soft and the length is great. However the price is too exaggerated.it is a nice toy though.Maybe it this other cats but it certainly didn’t calm mine.
Great little toy
Non-incentivized review. Purchased with own money. I originally purchased this hoping that a distressed deaf cat I was fostering might feel the purring vibrations and be soothed by this. Thank you to all of the responses people gave me when I posted a question about this. So she didn’t end up using this toy very much so I can only assume that she did not feel (or care for) the vibrations, and I know she could not hear them. However, two other foster kittens loved this toy. They immediately noticed it when I triggered it (I think that they were too light and not strong enough to trigger it themselves). The either sat on it and purred or dragged it backwards into their little cat cave where they hid it from each other. It has gotten properly abused, groomed, kicked and thrown for over a year now and yet it continues to look good and work well. I am happy with this toy’s performance and am comfortable recommending it to other people.
Has a rattle not a purr
This was for my cats. The sound that it makes is a mechanical rattle sound, not a purr. The cats wonât go near it.
Good for catnip pocket
This toy is louder than I’d like, does not entice my cat to snuggle with it. To make good use of it, I took out the nose maker and stuffed the head with cat nip. He loves it now and problem solved. Not worth $16.99.
Cute little friend
Adorable little toy. I got it for my smaller dog and she loves it. I got it so she would hopefully stop stealing my heating pad (she hasnât) but she loves to play with it, and pull the tuft of fur off. She gets excited to play with it and show it off. It hasnât ripped or anything, so it seems pretty durable. She seems very happy with it, so I couldnât ask for anything else. Except for my heating pad, wish me luck.
The picture on Amazon looks absolutely nothing like the actual item. However I really dont care what it looks like because my timid 2 year old female kitty i purchased this for likes it. She kneads and lays on it when it is turned on. The purr doesnt really sound real but it doesnt seem to matter to her. I like that this takes batteries instead of being yet another thing to have to recharge. For the price this toy is cute and helps my kitty.
