Best breast pump in ever tried!
This worked so well for me ( did need to purchase separate flange inserts to make them smaller) but itâs so comfortable and yielded the best collection of milk. Worked best with a pumping bra! It is on the expensive side but I used it multiple times a day. Canât say enough good this about this pump!!
Horrible device
Extremely loud, suction sucks as the flanges un attach, too many parts to wash, only two settings and both are unrealistic. I recommend that you look for another product. I purchased this product because, I was using the momcozy s9 and I didnât like how the suction was. This product gives you sore nipples even when you use a product to help during each pump. I wish I could return it but they donât take returns.
Flange suctions cups donât stay on.
This pump was alright the first two times I used it, but the suction cups on the flanges are garbage and donât stay on. Iâve been trying to use this pump for 3 weeks and it barely yields anything. It doesnât fit well with a pumping bra (again because the suction flanges just pop right off). Pumping is frustrating enough without having crappy, floppy flanges. Do not recommend.

The supercar of the breast milk pump
This review is for the partners (and the mother too) that wants to know which breat milk pump to get for your partner. There is 2 company that lead the market with the best product for breast milk pumping and Philips Advent is one of those 2.To stimulate, raise and keep the milk production up a new mother needs to keep feeding and pumping. The manual expression can only do so much and it is hard to get the rich milk that is deep within the breast. An automatic pump will help the mother. If her breast are full of milk and the baby isn’t hungry, you take out this beautiful machine and you pump that extra milk. The more often the breast is being empty the more production you will have.***Warning: do not over pump as it could create lesion on the skin and create infection. Always consult a specialist or a doctor if you have question or have any lesion or pain. The pumping shouldn’t be more often then every 2 hours and more. I would even say 3 hours and more to prevent those problems***And of course, the fact you can now start accumulating milk in your refrigerator and freezer. With bottle for the former and breast milk bag that you will date and put in the later. (Both needs you to buy extra philips advent bottles or breast milk bag: for breast milk bag, make sure it has a 2 strip to seal the bag, it helps to prevent mess when it freezes and keep the breast milk safe.)Now let’s talk about the machine itself. This pump is straight foward and easy to use.You will need to charge the pump first to make sure it is full charge, once fully charge it can last a whole week and that is if you pump at everyday at work and in the morning. The recharge time is pretty fast and you can charge it while pumping!Once it is charge, you will need to steam/ sterelize your equipment that is the cups that goes around the breast, the adapter and all its parts that join the cups to the bottle, and finally the bottle. This will need to be done everytime you want to pump. It prevent any bacteria or virus to get inside the milk. There is different way to sterelize your equipment, my favorite or sterelization bags. Those bags are big enough to load the gear and put a minimum of an inch (or 2.5 cm) of water in it. Put it in the microwave for about 3 minutes and you are good to go. You can use a sterelization or just boiling water.Once it is sterelize you can now assemble all the parts and put the cups on your breast. Usually you don’t need a breast milk pump bra or shirt. If you are comfortable you can just go topless or you can use your maternity bra by unclipping the flap to breast feed, install the cups and then reclip your bra and this should be fine. The pumping has different level of strengh/speed. Usually a fast speed at the beginning of the pumping session will stimulate the production (mimicing an enfant breatfeeding) after a minute you can slow back the speed of the machine and the milk should be gathering in tge bottle.***warning again: if after a minute of high speed and 3 minutes of a slower speed didn’t produce any milk, double check to make sure the whole system is pressurize. You can check for leaks, pressure the cups against your breast to make sure it is touching and sealing against the skin. Then redo the first step of 1 minutes higher speed then a 3-5 minutes of normal pumping. If it doesn’t work there is nothing wrong with you, sometimes the pump is just badly assemble after the sterelization, you just need to stop everything, seperate the cups and bottle and reassemble. And try again. If you breast feed the baby on both breast before the session is can happen that there won’t be a lot of milk or one breast will produce a lot of milk and the other will be nearly empy.)Once the session is done you can transfer your milk in breast milk bag (which you will need to buy) and freeze the milk. Once frozen you are good for 6 month, so don’t forget to put a date on it. Or you can keep the bottles in the refregirator for about 3-5 days before the milk start to degrade and loose its good proprieties.Once it is all done, just get some warm water with a bit of soap, clean and rinse the equipment (not the pump or the tube connected to the pump: no milk goes in these). And you will be good to go for the next session.I am a stay at home dad, and these are life savers. My wife can prepare multiple bottles (we bought 10. She brings 4 with her and a stack of breast milk bag at work. I keep 6 fresh bottles in the refrigerator.) Which I can use as needed. If you are not sure when to pump. I suggest the morning, it is the time where the production is at his maximum. If the infant is hungry, go for a feeding and you can pump after. If the infant isn’t hungry, pump and you can feed later. Worst case you can use what you pump if the baby is hungry and you don’t have any milk left.***Warning: the pump will not completly enpty your breast. There will always be a bot of milk left, so don’t over pump. A 10 minutes should be the maximum to prevent lesion to your skin.***Finally, you will need a bottle warmer or a cup of hot water to put the bottle in it to warm the milk.***final warning: always check the milk before feeding the baby by testing on your hand. If its burning hot, that it feels extremely warm, or hot. Wait! You do not want to burn the inside of your babies mouth. Wait a bit until the temperature feels closer to your body temperature. A more mild warm.***I suggest not sharing the equipment with someone else. As infection or other problems may occurs. Always sterelize and clean if you decide to let someone else use it.All in all, these machine are life savour for stay at home mom, for working mom, for stay at home dad, for a nanny, the grand -parents and so on. You get milk that can be use by all the family to feed the baby. This is among the best machine on the market and it will last for as long as you have babies and you want to breast feed.
The battery dies
I am so disappointed that only after 3 weeks of owning this pump the battery is not recharging anymore. Now It only works when the pump is plugged in. When I leave the pump to charge for hours it still dies in less than a minute when I try to use it as portable pump
Would personally recommend a different brand
I’ll start with cons: Unfortunately the cushions tend to lose thier seal and won’t stay in place. They seem to be the worst part about this pump. The pump also turns off by its self sometimes midway through pumping. Not sure if that’s just an issue with this particular pump or the brand in general. Replacement parts are so expensive. The pros are that it’s very compact and super easy to use on the go. It’s Avent brand so should be reliable under warranty I’d think (or at least hope). And if you need to you can pop a bottle lid directly to the bottle you just pumped.Overall I think I’d say proceed with caution because of the few flaws I mentioned at the beginning of this review.
Adjustable Belt with Motorized Pump Attachment – High-End Breast Pump, THE BEST! (as per my wife)
[PROS] ðâThe pump has touch controls that allow the user to toggle between a variety of breast pump stimulations and expression levels, you can cycle through them until you find a combination that suits your needsâHand washing components over the sink is quick and easy, takes less than a minute to properly clean breast milk pumps and bottlesâUnique pumping belt is adjustable and can strap on any waist size, once attached, the pumps remain connected to the breasts while the tubing wraps into the belt buckle area through the motorized pumpâRechargeable electric pump that remains quiet during usage without any distractive sound[CONS] ðâ During my review, I was unable to find any issues with this product. In the event I discover something in the future, I will update this review.[PRODUCT EXPERIENCE] â â â â â ðThe Philips Avent Double Electrical Breast Pump is currently priced as $329.99 at the time of this review. We used the Philips brand with our first child because we wanted one of the better pumps on the market with a reputable name and haven’t been disappointed to date (this was their single pump version a few years ago). My wife tested the double electric pump and its functions for our upcoming child and in her own words “this is a hugeeeee upgrade”, she made strong positive remarks surrounding the adjustable belt, it allows her to remain mobile across the house, while the pumps are in action. I’ll admit, it’s expensive compared to many other pumps on the market, but you’re ultimately paying for the highest quality components and user experience. Also note, they have excellent after market support, I have Philips-everything and can easily get warranty help.
