PicassoTiles Magnet Tiles Building Blocks 3-in-1 Aquarium Safari Animal & Metro Theme Playset with 24 Character Action Figures Magnetic STEM Learning Toys Construction Set Toddler kids Ages 3+ PTQ1245
Non Toxic

Very sturdy build. I know I’m getting a good quality product that will last to be passed on to the next generation as long as you don’t lose the pieces. My experience has been that the ‘name’ on the Picasso brand really does guarantee a cut above the other sets on the market. Most of those are good, but Picasso has the X-factor.
Picasso Tiles 150 piece Aquarium, Metro, Safari combo set is excellent! I teach Pre-K and have well over 100 sets of magnetic tiles from Amazon. This set is HUGE and meant to be a starter/ stand alone set. There are plenty of pieces here to entertain your child and they can build so many things with this unique set. It has standard sized pieces and is fully compatible with your standard collection.First, let’s look at accuracy of the ad. It is fairly accurate. I did note that the box and ad says 12 road pieces and 8 train tracks. Mine had 4 road pieces and two train tracks, also at least 6 completely clear tiles not listed on the box, so not entirely spot on. Pictures will show accurately what is included. This is my first aquarium themed set of tiles. Very unique to my classroom. The animals have small magnets placed on the bottom edge or back depicting how to best use these pieces. The turtle, crab and octopus are best used upright and not against a vertical flat surface for instance. As you can see in the pictures they have all flipped upside down as there is a single magnet in the bottom meant to stand up. The other animals stick well to walls and look fantastic! LOVE the aquarium pieces. Many pieces are printed/specialty and the plain tiles are colored clear and blue in theme. The metro pieces are also quite nice. I do have a few city sets already. I LOVE the rectangle word label tiles for the hospital, police, school, bank, fire station. Environmental print signs are a fantastic learning tool for the Pre-K classroom. There are community helper vehicles that are printed one sided so they drive one way. There were few road and train track pieces in the box but I have others to supplement in my collection. The safari set is also nice. I do have some safari sets already with identical trees and animals. This set does have many specialty tiles. The animals are meant to stand up in this theme as well. Magnets in the feet of the 8 animals included. There are tiles meant to build 3 trees with branches, with grasses and vines for your animals to hide behind.I did test magnetism. This set holds 7 squares and rates average/slightly above average in regards to magnetism. These pieces will build well and strengthen your collection. Students will build higher and longer with less frustration with the stronger magnets.I do consider magnetic tiles one of the very best learning toys in my classroom. These toys stay out all year and students never tire of them. They are open- ended manipulatives fostering STEM thinking and supporting Pre-K learning targets. Excellent, unique starter set. I recommend this company and this set. I have been buying magnetic tiles from them since 2019 and my tiles are still going strong. Ages 3+
If youâre one of those Amazon shoppers who only likes reading the first paragraph of any review, then know up front that, no matter whether you pay the full-honking price for this set, or buy it on sale, The PicassoTiles 3-in-1 Aquarium, Safari Animal, Metro Theme Building Set is the bestest magnetic tile set in the universe. Full stop.Holy cow. What isnât fabulous about this set?! Iâm a full-grown woman and I sooooo love it. I got it for a friend with a 5-year old, but that friend may never get it. I love it too much. (Or Iâll have to get another one for her nice little boy.)Everything about this set is magnificent and special. The pieces are beautiful. Their color are vivid. The figures â the stand-alone people, cars, animals; or the figures inside the tiles themselves â are unique and, dare I say, evocative. The tiles feeeeeel good in your hands. They snap together even at 45 degree angles, defying gravity. There are no batteries. There are no pieces to break. AND MAGNETS ARE FOR LIFE.Although my son has outgrown playing with tiles, when he came home from school the other day and saw the tiles on the dining room table, he said âwhoa, whatâs this?â And sat down.My son loved playing with Legos. He built Lego buildings taller than himself â when he was 3. He was born skilled at spatial relations, and scored second in the state of California in a geometric and spatial skills test when he was in the 6th grade. Spatial thinking runs in our family.I mention my son, not to boast, but to point out the importance of exposing children to spatial thinking skills â all children â those with the innate talent, and those not born with the skill, but who, if exposed to it, will develop it and improve their ability, and perhaps be less alarmed when they first encounter math and geometry in school.[On a tangent, Iâd like to mention that though the human mind cannot at this time approach the speed and ability of problem-solving that AI has, it has been posited that AI cannot touch the pattern recognition ability of the human mind.]And all these STEM skills can begin by having fun, at home, when playing with these magnificent tiles.
I ordered one set of these simply because I thought they looked like something fun with which to play. The visiting kids have loved them, so I ordered other sets. A visiting missionary family liked them so much that they ordered some to take back. I was told they are heavy (plane luggage wise), but they donâtâ take up much room, and they keep their two pre-school children busy for long stretches of time. These are great for smaller children, as they canât swallow the magnets, and even a visiting 2 year old mastered putting things together. HIGHLY recommend.
This set is so much fun. It has the normal draw of magnet tiles (which are a huge hit with kids) and the added feature of pretend play with the animals and people. $150 seems like a lot, but you get a lot of magnets in the set. This was a huge hit with my 4 year old and also my 6, 8, and 9 year olds! The magnets are strong and the quality is great. Picasso tiles have been my go to for magnet tiles as they are great quality and less expensive than some other popular brands.
