Good sound Good light but..
In few words here is pros and cons:Pros:Good sound qualityGood light, and light color shade intensity selectionEasy to operate device buttonsNice looking deviceCons:Not battery operatedMost of sounds and better selection are via bluetoothIt needs to be plugged to work and plug is in front of speaker.Overall good bedside speaker and white noise sound machine. Best controls are through Bluetooth and your phone, altho descent selection is on sound machine itself. It works when is plugged and pug is in worst possible location. I give it 4 star because of quality of sound and what it does. If you want multipurpose battery less sound player / speaker this may be good device for you.
Shaped like the Apollo command module, this sound machine definitely looks interesting. I like that it has 54 sounds and can function as a bluetooth speaker. The sound quality is good not great. I like that it has a night light with 15 colors that can be as dim or bright as you like. It can really set the mood in a room. I like that this comes with a cord and power block for use although the cord is pretty short. I like that this has a timer with 3 timer settings for auto-shut off or continuous play.What I am not a fan of is that you have to plug the cord into the front of the machine. It is awkward and looks weird. I also don’t like that you need to download an app to get full of this sound machine. While it is not a huge deal for me, I can imagine if you gave this to someone who is not tech savvy, how it could be intimidating. I also don’t like the whole idea of downloading apps to use products. Call me paranoid but I always think these companies are trying to get personal info when I use their app. You could not use the app and press the buttons on the machine to get what you want but the buttons are tiny and hard to read so it is clumsy. I also assumed this machine was rechargeable and could be used cordlessly but it always needs to be plugged in to work which is inconvenient for travel and using as a bluetooth speaker.Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives for this sound machine. While not perfect, it certainly does the job and has some nice sounds. A few tweaks would totally improve the user experience and make this a 5 star product.

I ordered “PopoIron Upgraded Sound Machine with 54 Soothing Sounds, White Noise Sound Machine with App” to use at naptime for my visiting grandchildren – or to replace my aged Samsung Galaxy 7 that I use on my bedside table only for whitenoise.Here’s a quick list of the high points…- Not intuitive to use without the app. Buttons are monochromatic and difficult to see the detailed micro symbols for even good eyes like mine. You can do just a few of the things that the app accomodates unless you use the app itself.- You have to download the Mido Link app and create a userID and password (not difficult). I stored my creds in a password keeper.- The app is pretty cool and easy to use, and you can easily control several functions: Lights – colors and brightness or on/off. Sound catagory, and sound variety. Sound volume. Timer (up to 8 hours).- There is NO BATTERY (at first I thought there was). So, it has to be plugged into its USB-C power source.- Here’s the kicker… It is more of a blue-tooth speaker that streams sounds from your phone than it is a soundmaker on its own. I say that because after setting the unit to the lighting and sounds I wanted, then when I started watching a video on my phone, the unit started blasting the audio from the video instead of the sounds I had queued up for my [test] grandkids. The audio was loud and clear. That means you can use it as a separate bluetooth speaker, but it means in order to use it for streaming its sounds from its app, you have to not use your phone for anything else that uses audio such as videos or phone calls. Otherwise, you can disconnect the bluetooth and fumble with the manual buttons and try to get the lights and sounds you want.
I think there are a couple areas for improvement here.1. This needs to be plugged in to work. Thereâs no battery. That means itâs not very good for travel, because you can only use this where there is a plug to connect it to the wall. Most sound machines include a battery backup.2. The A/C adapter plugs into the front where the buttons are. This is really annoying because usually the wall outlet is behind you. That means this is pointed away from you by default, but then to change the settings the cable gets in the way. If you pull out the cable it immediately loses power because of see #1.3. This cannot be used as a wake clock or alarm clock. Thereâs no ability to set this to turn on at any given time. You can only program this to turn off after a set amount of time. I think many people looking to buy this type of product with a light and sound are looking for something that you can program to turn on at 7 am to tell a toddler or preschoolers they can get up and leave the room.4. The app has very limited functionality and for the most part is replicated entirely by buttons. The only reason you need the app is if you want to use this as a Bluetooth speaker from your phone. Itâs not compatible with alexa.5. The sound quality is not the best, but it is fine if youâre just using it for white noise.On the plus side, this is small, compact, lightweight, easy to use, and performs all the functions exactly advertised. There are also a good number of lighting colors to choose from. Connecting to the phone and using the app is very easy.
I use a sound machine to help me sleep at night in which case I place it on the nightstand. I also have used a sound machine when I am outside drawing or painting. The sound machine masks any other noises and helps me relax and concentrate. I have sometimes used the sound machine when I am in the kitchen cooking a complicated dish. I can concentrate on what Iâm doing because it nullifies any other sounds in the area and it doesnât have words as in a song or TV show that may distract from what Iâm doing.The sound machine I have used in the past operated on batteries and enabled me to move it to different rooms and locations.This review is based on my usage in these locations.PROS- Great variety of sounds. 5 stars for sound options.!- Love that there is an auto timer that can be set most easily on app.- Can turn on/off by app and it will start with the same settings (sound level, sound choice. Light level) as last used.CONS- More comprehensive directions would be helpful. Instructions are very small and not user-friendly.- Not battery powered – locations for use are dependent on access to power/adapter. Canât easily move from room to room. Canât easily use outdoors.- Plug for cord is in front of device – would have preferred it to be on back, less noticeable.- Bluetooth access – for full use and to easily make adjustments are to be made through Bluetooth and app.- Buttons on front of device are not intuitive, and are too small to easily read.Bottom linesThere are many options that can be set from the app. There are also options that can be set/ changed from the device itself ⦠however, the buttons are hard to see and settings are not intuitive. I will use only the app for settings because the buttons are frustrating!I would rather have a sound machine that operates only by buttons and not through an app. Itâs just gets too complicated for me! Though the device has its upsides, itâs the downsides that keep me from liking it totally.if you are going to use this device in just one location and typically on the same settings each time, this could work very well for you.
