The gate is a little hard to open but works really well with our little one. Itâs at the bottom of the stairs and is on when heâs downstairs. When itâs open there is nothing blocking the staircase.Overall a good product.
Works great, exactly as anticipated
exactly as pictured. no issues with installation, provided multiple screws/anchors depending on what you’re mounting it to, instructions are clear and it is secure. Locking mechanism is strong and works well. I use it as strictly a pet gate but the locking mechanism needs to be pushed and then pulled so I cant imagine a young child will be able to easily figure it out, older toddlers maybe but it still takes some strength to pull the gate out, off the hooks, and back, to open the gate

We initially bought a pressure mounted metal gate with pet door for the top of our stairs but it made it challenging to get through carrying a baby/ basket. So we bought this and it works great. Cats are happy and baby doesn’t get places where she shouldn’t go.

Great except for one thing
This gate is mostly what we were looking for. Ours cats fit through easily and it’s secure for the top of the stairs which is great. My only complaint is the lock is quite easy to figure out. My son isn’t 2 yet and he understands how to unlock it.

La barrière est bien faire dans son ensemble, mais le trou pour la chatière est beaucoup trop gros, de sorte quâun enfant peut passer par ce trou! Jâai installé la barrière au-dessus de mes escaliers et la première chose que mon garçon a faite est dâexplorer le trou et dâessayer de passer à travers. Il était rendu à la moitié de son corps quand je lâai vu. Un chat nâa besoin que de la grosseur de sa tête pour passer, ce nâétait vraiment pas nécessaire de faire si gros. Le trou est plus large que ce qui est permis pour les barreaux dâune clôture pour la sécurité des bébés. Les constructeurs de cette barrière auraient dû le savoir!
I needed a gate to keep the dog away from the cat food and something that wouldnât take up too much space since the walkway is on the smaller side. This retractable gate meets all the needs! Easy to install (took maybe 10 minutes), easy to use (even my 5 year old can open and close it – it is harder for him but he can do it), and it takes up very little room! My favorite part is it doesnât take up space in the doorway you are trying to walk through! So many of the hard plastic or metal gates take up some doorway space so you have less room for your body to pass through – this was a constant annoyance whenever trying to carry the groceries in or take the laundry basket downstairs plus that makes it harder for anyone with wider hips to pass through. I have been using the gate for 3 weeks now and I do not regret my purchase!Two things to keep in mind.1. The product will need to be screwed into your wood trim or wall, so if you ever wanted to remove it there would be visible holes. I plan to use this for a long time so this did not bother me.2. If you want to use the cat door, you will have to close the cat door every time you want to open the gate. The open cat door will not roll like the rest of the gate. (See pictures) I personally, keep the cat door open all the time because when rolled up with the cat door still open the gate doesnât stick out too much and it doesnât take anything away from my walkway.Something to keep in mind for children – If you are trying to keep children away from something like stairs or the kitchen or whatever else, I would say this would be perfect. Just know that my 5 year old does understand how to use the lock system on the gate (meaning he can easily lock and unlock it), but my 3 year old does not. So really just depends on your need for this product.Last thing – If you are trying to keep a dog in or out and that dog is a tricky one, this gate might not be a good fit. There is small gap at the bottom and I could see where an anxious or bored puppy might try to crawl under..and since the gate is more flexible I could see them being successful. I have a 7 year old, 90lb lab and he has never done this, however he does not get too excited as much now that heâs out of his puppy phase.
Love this gate. Incredibly sturdy and easy to use. I like how it retracts and take up less space when not in use.I have a small senior dog who is on prescription food and medicine. Along with my dog, I dog sit some very enthusiastic food snatchers. I often have to separate the dogs incase they gobble up my senior dogs food. This gate has been the perfect solution to making sure my dog can come and go as she pleases and no one eats the wrong food.
This was the perfect solution for a baby gate that wouldn’t work at the base of our stairs. It was fairly adjustable so installing it was a breeze!You will need tools to assembleI only wish it were a little more sturdy at the top but I do realize it is a mesh gate. It does lock into place so it doesn’t retract if the baby is leaning on it.
This is exactly what we needed. I wasnât sure if the cat door would be big enough for our chonky cat, but he fits through it fine and luckily our dog does not. Very easy to install and use. Love this gate!
I used to have the metal and wood baby gates years ago. This is a fantastic alternative to those.This was relatively easy to install into the walls. I’ve had the type of gates that use tension to stay put but those can sometimes be problematic however if you do not want screws in youtrou walls then go for one of those instead. This is very sturdy once installed.We got this to keep a puppy from the hallway leading to bedrooms and guest bath. She is still potty training and putting whatever she finds in her mouth if we are not watching her like a hawk. There are little things being dropped in the bathroom and bedrooms that might not be caught immediately so this helps keep the puppy out of trouble.We have a young daughter that is clumsy like her mother and I thought it would be nice not having the bottom rail you find on a lot of baby gates that become tripping hazards. This being soft and retractable completely out of the way is wonderful!!This is very easy to use but I do get hung up sometimes trying to get the hooks into both notches. More often than not I get it into one and leave the other undone. It stays in place just fine with the one in place. I think this is more user error and impatience than the product not working.
