A good quality strap that can make all the difference when a loved one needs assistance
My mom contracted Lyme disease last summer and, even after she began treatment, she was still very weak and needed a lot of assistance. I tried to help her move around in bed one night, but I ended up hurting her shoulder quite badly when I was pulling her up. As soon as I saw this sling, I wanted to have it on hand just in case she experiences something like that again in the future.Itâs made of strong PVC material, and the straps feel very secure. I tested it with my mom today, and we were surprised at how much easier it was on both of us. It distributes the lifting force over a broader area, decreasing the likelihood of injury. She was able to slide it around her back and under her arms, and it made lifting her infinitely easier. You have to be careful not to let it bunch up, as that can be uncomfortable for the liftee, but it really is a game changer. I especially like the dual handle design, which allows you better leverage at different angles.Itâs rated up to 330 lbs, which should be adequate for most people. My mom weighs about 230, and we didnât experience any issues at all when lifting her.At $23.99 I think is priced very well for the quality and performance. You can find cheaper options on Amazon, but you have to pay attention to size because many of those are substantially shorter than this one. Haven’t had to use this yet but it is well made and seems to be just what’s needed
The handles allow you to hold patient steady, turn them, ease them into a chair, secure them in a wheel chair. Secure fastener easily snapped into place. The handles also have handles all the way around giving more options as well as allowing several people to assist.
Works great and has lots of handles. One horizontal handle near buckle would be perfect.
Purchased for a caregiver friend who says itâs amazing! So many places to grab someone who is much larger than her size. The care-receiver says itâs more useful than the one sent home by the hospital and says itâs comfortable and secure-feeling!
The handles are convenient but the âone sizeâ belt is too large for the average adult, and itâs difficult to adjust and secure in the adjusted position. It would be beneficial to have this available in sizes.
