We ordered these for our grandchild to have on hand when they are visiting or when we are babysitting.Compared to the brand the parents have been using, the Royale Premium diapers currently have no price advantage over what can be purchased locally. There is little to no difference in keeping the baby dry and minimizing leakage. There are a few differences between the Royale Premium diapers and other brands. In comparison to the other brand at the parents home:- it has a dimpled inner surface that can leave a slight marking on the baby’s skin, whereas the Royale diaper has a smooth inner surface that seems slightly softer and fluffier.- it has printed guides on the front of the diaper to help parents determine if it is too small or large for the baby. The Royale diaper does have alignment marks on the front, but they do not indicate the size range. Both have velcro-like tabs that help put the diaper on, but they can snag on clothing or blankets. Both have moisture-changing indicators to identify diaper wetness outside the diaper. The bottom line is that Royale Premium diapers are just another brand on the market. I give the product five stars because I believe it is as absorbent and leakproof as the other products.Royale is a Canadian product manufactured in Moncton, New Brunswick, using domestic and imported components. Other top-name diapers are made in the USA using domestic and imported components, and some diaper manufacturers do not identify the origin of the components.
A decent choice but it doesnât quite compare to the bigger name brands
Weâre a long-time Huggies/Kirkland Signature family and have tried many other brands since our 15 months old daughter was born. Everything from Pampers, Rascal and Friends, to some of the more popular direct-to-customer online brands. Iâve always been curious to try these Royale diapers as theyâre a trusted paper-product brand here in Canada. Our first impressions were not so positive. Comparing them to Huggies Plus, theyâre very thin and light weight. The size 3 Royale was also noticeably larger than Huggies size 3. They seem to fit decently, but I was concerned about the lack of absorbent material.Sure enough, on our first use of a couple of hours, our daughters ânumber 1â seemed to seep through the diaper. On our second use, we had a blow out over the back flap. This has literally never happened with the Huggies weâve been using.I believe this comes down to the lack of absorbent material as well as a lack of âbackupâ elastic material which seems to keep everything in check.Overall, I wouldnât really recommend these, particularly not as theyâre labelled as âpremiumâ theyâre more of a basic diaper and if they were marketed as such and priced as such, Iâd be more inclined to recommending them.
Super soft, but thinner than other brands
I recently tried Royale diapers for my son, and hereâs my honest take:Softness: The material is incredibly soft, almost tissue-like, which feels gentle on my son’s skin. This softness is a huge plus since he has sensitive skin, and itâs much softer than other brands weâve tried.Thickness: Royale diapers are notably thinner than big-name brands like Huggies or Kirkland. This has its pros and cons: the thinness makes it less bulky, which is nice for a more streamlined fit, especially under clothes. However, Iâm a bit cautious about using them overnight. While they seem absorbent enough for daytime use, I worry they might not hold up as well during longer stretches.Wetness Indicator: I really appreciate the wetness indicator. Itâs very helpful for quickly checking if itâs time for a change, and it adds a nice convenience factor.Sizing: I noticed Royale diapers run slightly larger than Huggies or Kirkland. For example, my son usually wears a size 4 in Huggies/Kirkland, but with Royale, size 3 fits him perfectly. So, you may want to consider sizing down if youâre switching to Royale.Overall, Iâd recommend Royale diapers for daytime use, especially if youâre looking for a soft, thinner option. Just keep in mind the sizing difference and the potential overnight limitations.5 Stars
Great Diapers Overall!
Most of us will know Royale from their other products – we’ve used their tissues for many, many years and know we can reliably buy and use them, and expect the same quality. We had the same expectations with these diapers and overall, they very much meet those expectations! The packaging of this particular set is okay! They are in one large box and split into 3 or 4 individually packaged bags, stacked up on one another. Better for saving on resources I suppose! They’re super soft and moisture absorbing, functionally, which is all you can ask for! They also have velcro fasteners on the sides which let’s you really get a nice precise tightness on your little one. The design is also minimal, which I personally appreciate.Wondeful diapers in conclusion! They’re made with quality materials and free from things like latex and dyes, and have a pretty cool “technology” they’re manufactured with called Moisture Lock which keeps moisture away from your babies potentially very sensitive skin safe!
