Great gate
Super easy to install and super sturdy for top of stairs
Good, safe gate. Comes preassembled.
Came when expected. Although my dad installed it for me, he didn’t run into any problems. My toddlers’ room is on the second floor, so I put this gate on their bedroom door (rather than the top of the stairs) to keep them in their room but still be able to leave door open. (But can also still shut the door if I need be as well) My 3 year old has been able to figure out how to open my gate on the main floor to get out of the livingroom, but she hasn’t figured this gate out yet. And honestly, I *think* even if she knew what to do in order to open it, I believe her hand would be too tiny to be able to push both buttons at the same time in order to be able to open this gate, which is a huge PLUS I think! (Again, because her room is upstairs)*FYI; If you have a light sleeper and you’re using this gate near a sleeping child, you might find it a bit noisy when opening & closing. My kids sleep thru anything, so that’s not an issue for me. However, if you’re tall enough, you should be able to step over the gate..I can and I’m 5’2″.Good product overall. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.
Excellent gate, install could be awesome if packaged right
This gate is very sturdy, nicely finished, and super easy to install – had it been packaged correctly. I followed the instructions and left it all strapped together until it was screwed to the wall, then cut the zip ties and removed all the wrapping. Unfortunately the latch side had been attached a bit too high, so it wouldnât release properly. I lowered it and voila, it now works great. So something to just check for before installing all the screws (which I didnât use because they were a very coarse âthreadâ. You have to push on it very hard to get it to release without clicking the latches; I think a lot harder than the average toddler could push. It swings 90° either way. Nice looking gate that works well.
Best Gate Yet
Easiest gate I’ve ever installed. Easy to open with one hand.Seems sturdy, time will tell! One Month Update: After a month of constant use (daily) the gate still works great and looks mint. What I really love about it is that I can just swing it shut behind me and with a click – I know it’s closed. I have another gate and I have to manually close it behind me, which is a pain when you’re carrying anything.
Easy install and sturdy
Really quick to install, the instructions are exceptionally clear; the design and packaging lend itself to the easiest possible install for this style of gate. Highly recommend.
Terrible.
I bought this a while back and the install was soooo easy, it seemed to good to be true. And it was. With 9 fresh holes in my wall the anchor less screws donât stay tight and they pull from the wall. Causing the gate to sag to when it closes it clicks into the lower section. Which means, yup you guessed it, it doesnât open right. Constantly trying to open it, I removed it and installed it with anchors and different screws but the damage is already done. With all the fresh holes in the wall it all save now.Total waste.
Excellent gate but skip the included screws
This gate is well designed. No trip bar across the bottom. High mounting to clear tall baseboards. Integrated stoppers so the gate doesn’t swing towards the stairs. Adjustable upper and lower widths. The top hinge is indexed so the entire gate can be removed when opened at 90 degrees. User friendly mounting system, but I recommend using something like Snaptoggles if mounting to drywall.Hinge side mounted to banister with five #12 wood screws and a #8 on the bottom. Latch side mounted to drywall with SnapToggle anchors. Rock solid
Open box product – missing all hardware and loose clamps. Beware.
We have three of these gates, and overall we really like them. We did get a good deal on buying open box products. However when they say like new, beware. One of the gates was actually perfect, everything was included and ready to go. Our second gate had the mounting instructions removed which made it a lot harder to line up and mount. The third gate we purchased was missing all of the necessary hardware to install it. I used hardware that I already had, but I had a lot to choose from and someone else might not. The gates mount strongly but they were very difficult to open and close at first. I found using some WD-40 to lubricate the small pins to allow them to go in and out with downer pressure easier really helped. Also, the clamps that hold the gates from moving when you set it at the desired width were incredibly loose on one of our gates and would not hold the width we want it at all. I had to bend the metal to make it stronger. I think if we bought brand new ones all of these issues might have been avoided. However, we went with the assumption that ‘like new’ meant like new… After solving all of these issues, we are still pleased with our baby gates and the money we did save on buying them open box.
This is really a nice gate, one of the best I’ve used. Quick, easy install. If your walls are not quite right angles, this gate offers some flexibility in that area, but if your walls are off by more than about 1/4″ from the top of the gate to the bottom, then it’s going to be a little tough. My walls were off by more than 1/4″ and I tried to install the gate. I did manage to put it up, but it eventually failed due to the torque put on it from being so uneven. The screws eventually pulled out of the wall (plaster board) and that was the end of it. But, if your mounting area is mostly square, you’ll really like this gate. I would definitely recomend it.
Buen producto, fácil de instalar y es difÃcil de abrir por un niño
What is there to not like about this gate? I’ve had children, grandchildren and pets through the years and including a massive amount of baby gates. Hands down the best gate on the market. We have tall moulding for our base boards and this is the only gate I could find that allowed a clearance for that. If something is wrong with your gate then I am sure it has been installed wrong or you didn’t get your dimensions right for the opening. This gate works brilliantly and very sturdy.vWe had my 1 year old grandson here for Christmas and the top of the stairs needed to be secure. I had complete faith in it. Worth every penny.
Sin lugar a duda es la mejor opción ya que la medida es ajustable y super fácil de instalar recomendadisima
Do NOT remove the zip ties before you are finished installing the gate. The zip ties hold both wall pieces onto the gate during assembly and also include spacers so that the gate is the correct height off the ground and level as you are installing it. The zip ties also help indicate which sides go up. No part of this gate can be installed with either end up.My installation was more difficult than necessary because one side wall piece arrived detached from the gate. And then I cut the zip ties in order to read the instructions which come mounted to the gate. I could not easily see the instructions through the gate and did not see the warnings not to cut the zip ties.So I struggled at installation with which end of the various pieces went up, the correct spacing from the floor, keeping everything level as I marked the screw holes etc. Donât cut the zip ties! Also, they provide screws that are strong enough ONLY if mounted into studs. The hardware is NOT suitable for mounting straight into drywall. The instructions are misleading on this. Also, it is not possible to mount all screws into studs because the side-by-side screw holes are further apart than a standard stud. Therefore, you need to be prepared with drywall anchors or toggle bolts for the areas that cannot be attached to a stud. The gate opens in either direction which is nice. They say not to open the gate over stairs and so in that situation, you are supposed to flip a lever to prevent the gate from opening in both directions. You also get to decide if you want the hinges vs the opening on the left or right side. The width of the gate is nicely adjustable by opening four levers, changing the width of the gate by sliding it wider or more narrow and then closing those levers and locking them. You can open the gate with one handâif you have movement of your hand and especially your thumb and index finger. One thing I donât like is that the gate does not open fully to 90 degrees. When my granddaughter is not here, we leave the gate open and I would like it to rest against the wall out of the way. But it does not rest flush against the perpendicular wall when open. That makes it more likely that someone (especially someone with poor vision) will walk into it.A key positive feature for me is that the bottom width of the gate is smaller than the top width and so this gate works well with the thick base molding in our house. Many other gates do not work in that situation.Overall, itâs a nice and secure gate and I am very glad to have it and have it securely installed. That being said, however, I know some very strong toddlers who would surely climb this and in a certain amount of time would probably tear it down. The instructions simply say that you need to remove the gate if it becomes lose. Still, it is much more secure than a tension gate.I am happy with this gate but wish my installation had been easier.
