Great little expandable baby gate !!
I bought this for my grandchild. It was a pretty easy installation, took about 30 mins to install. Very sturdy and you hear a nice click when it locks closed. Love how easy it is to open and slides back. When the kids arenât over you can remove it in 10 seconds with a push of a button. If you were to buy extra hinge hangers and where it locks into you could just move it from place to place easily. My only complaint is that the screws they give you to mount it to the wall are very cheap and strip the head of the screw easily. Also they donât give you any shims for the top hinges if you have to screw the bottom hinge into the baseboard. I had to cut out a piec. Beside those little gripes I love this gate and would recommend it to anyone. All metal, not cheap plastic.
Best gate ever but need parts
Does anyone know where to get replacement hinges? Best gate ever but wall hinged broke and need to replace them
Taupe!!! But excellent 🙂
The gate is definitely taupe… nothing white about it. So don’t buy it if it’s important to you that the gate be white…That said, the gate is perfect for our needs. We used it to block off a wider doorway. My husband is a carpenter by trade and very handy, it took him about 15 minutes to install the gate, so I’d say installation is easy if you’re relatively handy. Our toddler has already put this thing thru durability and quality testing by shaking it, climbing it, trying to climb under it, etc. The thing is STURDY and does the job it is meant to do. It keeps the kid out of danger zones. It is easy to open with one hand, although I personally prefer just hopping over it (that’s my exercise for the day… #momhack).I love that in our home the gate can swing open against a wall when not in use. In this position, it almost blends completely with the wall and definitely gives our home less of a jail feel, which I personally enjoy :)The price is right. Recommend.
Sturdy and Stylish Gate
Our toddler’s wall gate was just installed, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how well it works. Once installed, the gate is quite strong, giving us piece of mind that our child is protected. By following the instructions provided in the instruction manual, the installation process was simple to complete. We like how the modern style effortlessly complements our interior decor. The gate’s locking mechanism is simple enough for grown-ups to use, yet it’s strong enough to keep our daring toddler from opening it. All things considered, we advise anyone searching for a dependable way to childproof their house to consider the wall gate.
I hate this gate with a passion
We previously had a munchkin extra tall and wide gate but itâs been discontinued. So we got this one because itâs literally the only one for sale thatâs wide enough for our stairs.Itâs not as tall as our other gate, but wide enough which is fine. The issue is it doesnât just open/close- you have to slide it in or out to latch it. Twice no my son was holding the gate while i tried to slide the bars into the security latch and caught his fingers between the bars. Heâs only one, so he doesnât em understand – I can sit him down, but unless I have eyes on the back of my head I canât close it and watch him at the same time.Oh and my husband pinched his hand while closing it too as the latch caught his skin between the metal and clip. He was swearing and said get rid of this f@&) gate. I agree with him, but sadly there arenât any that just open close at this size (that I can find).Iâll be replacing it as soon as. A better one comes for sale used. At least it keeps my son off the stairs for now.
Did not disappoint – Adjustable and secure.
Adjustable and secure, I actually used it outside at the front stairs my home. Easily installed, sturdy and locked in place nicely yet wasnât difficult to open.
Make sure your walls or posts are compatible
I bought it for my baby to block two stair cases. This baby gate needs to be screwed into solid wood in order to have enough support. This means stair posts/wall studs. Make sure to flip over the template guide because there is a different one on the other side. Also if you stair post is solid hardwood, you need to increase the drill size otherwise your screw will strip and break. For some reason my wall side did not have any stud at the corner so I have to screw a plank across the wall studs first then screw the gate into the plank. Once installed, it is rock solid. Also note that this product says to NOT use it on the top of the stairs.Overall this gate is very good and I recommend it.
Buy different screws for installation
The gate is okay, it works fine for a dog gate but seems a little unsturdy for a baby gate. I do like that you can slide it open and swing the other side so you can access the full doorway. Our house is old and not very level, which means the latch installation template makes it so the gate doesn’t completely line up – you may not have this problem in a newer home.Beware – all of the screws got stripped off when installing (tried with a drill and by hand), so I’d suggest getting sturdier screws before installing.
