  1. Transforming building set
This building set is really nicely put together. My 7 year old grandson did need help as he’s still learning but, has been able to figure out how to put it together mostly by himself. The set comes with 1128 pieces and the set builds a transforming piece that can morph into a robot, fighter jet, and a dinosaur. There is no need to take it apart to morph it as it does have movable joints that will allow you to make it into the other figures. We did find that my grandson isn’t so gentle when morphing and kept breaking it do that was extremely frustrating for him. These are Lego type blocks that I do believe would work with Lego but I cannot verify as I don’t have Lego at this point as I sent it to my daughters. I’ll test this and update the review if they don’t work with Lego. The robot is around 35cm tall as per the manufacture and when built this is accurate. I like that the robot will stand in its own so it can be displayed. My grandson after taking 3 days with lots of breaks to build this doesn’t want to take it apart and has decided it needs to be on display with my husbands Lego he has a large collection. I can tell you the look on my grandsons face was full of accomplishment as he built it almost entirely by himself. He said that the set is lit so I’ll take his word on it. I loved how creative this set is, it is definitely made more for the older child. My grandson is very smart so he was able to do it but, I do think other kids may have issues. As a parent/grandparent/gift giver you will have to be the judge of their abilities and if they have the type of patience required to build something like this. The blocks are nicely made without plastic sharps or tough edges do the moulding process is perfect. I did not find broken or missing pieces when my grandson was building it so I am really happy I didn’t have to message about missing pieces.Love the set it’s really unique.

  2. Unique and fun toy
This 1128-piece set builds a transforming figure that morphs into a robot, fighter jet, or dinosaur without disassembly.Movable joints enable smooth transitions between forms, though rough handling may cause pieces to come apart.Compatible with Lego-like blocks, and it does fit reasonably well with their product with some gaps in the joints. The finished robot stands at 35cm tall and can be displayed independently. It takes some time to finish the build with so many pieces.Designed for older children with the patience and ability to tackle intricate builds; younger kids may need assistance.Pieces are well-molded with no sharp edges or defects, and all components were accounted for in the set.Very happy with the product and a good value.

  3. An impressive set with some oddities
The connections fit well, in terms of the studs, the shafts/holes, and so on. They were neither too tight nor too loose. That goes for both the parts within the set, and when combined with Lego-brand parts if you want to use them for MOCs. However, while building the set, I did notice that some of the parts fit a bit loosely in terms of the brick size, so that even though the studs fit well, there were gaps between the walls of the bricks. It allowed them to sit a bit out-of-square unless I was meticulous about lining everything up manually. But the main concern I had in terms of part quality is that the colour matching was not very good. I’ve included a photo of a small assembly where you can see the reds vary quite a bit. There were some strange choices in part design. There were a few common parts that came unusually split into two pieces, like having the stud as a separate insert. In the case of one type of part, there were a separate frame and panel still together on the moulding sprue. These parts don’t seem particularly unusual and I haven’t seen Lego-style kits handle them this way before. I don’t see a reason that they would be manufactured like this, and having those bits be separate does nothing to make the pieces more versatile since they always need to be together, so it seems to me like it’s purely a strategy to run up the part count to make it look like better value. There were a ton of those parts too (see the photo of the pile of leftover sprue material). There were some minor errors in the instructions. In one or two cases I noticed that a part added in a previous step was missing. It didn’t make it confusing as to what I was supposed to do for that new step, but it did make me pause for a moment when I noticed that my assembly didn’t match the image of what the new parts were being added to.The organization of parts between the bags (and the smaller bags within bags) is better than most. They do actually correspond to different steps and areas (e.g. the different sides’ legs are in different bags). Often you’ll just get three different bags labelled “1” and need to open all of them for the first step anyway, but in this set there is actually a sensible division for the most part. The bags-within-bags aren’t labelled, but you can see which you need by checking the parts. The different forms can be a bit unstable, especially the dinosaur. A building block transformer is never going to be as sturdy as an action figure type one, but there are places where flimsiness was a problem (for example, the place form’s landing gear was very prone to folding up and collapsing under the model’s weight). Overall though it’s impressively effective.

  4. Fun
This was a fun toy to put together and the instructions were fairly easy to follow for my nephew with a little bit of help (he is 8). It took him a couple of hours and he absolutely loves transforming it to a fighter jet and dinosaur depending on what he is playing at the time. The material is good quality and the parts so far are staying in place even with him moving the joints constantly. This is a great gift for anyone who loves building and playing with transforming type toys
