Vibrant colours, easy/fast to assemble, good educational tool, Central America needs mention
An amazing way to get kids interested in geography, travel and worldly knowledge. Very bright, colorful, big font writing on the cards and big puzzle pieces. The puzzle box says 6-12 year olds and I think this is absolutely appropriate for this age group. Pieces are 12 across by 8 high for a total of 96 pieces, and the measurements provided are pretty accurate, approx. 2 hands vertically 3 hands horizontally.The presentation is ok, the puzzle pieces are found in a ziploc bag and the cards are stacked together held by paper cutouts, however I’d overlook it for the premise of the puzzle as an educational tool. I do like that this puzzle is not just a one time fun game, but instead could be revisited with children in order to learn different countries or laminated and discussed after travel. It’s always useful to have a world map around, and for a child this is a simple and fun introduction.Factually, there should be a distinction between North and Central America, as the Central American countries are all grouped with North American countries like Canada and USA, while they are distinguished from South American countries in the cards. Also Russia was labelled under Asia whereas it is both in Europe and Asia and perhaps should have been labelled as both. Other than that the cards show capitals, flags, offer interesting facts and are a joy to read and learn.The numbers at the top of the cards refer to where the countries are found on the puzzle map, and each continent has numbers up to 4. It would be great if instead of “3” all the Central American countries were labelled as such.The puzzle pieces are sturdy and fit together well, they are easy to recognize and put together with no pieces that could be ambiguous. However, it is not a puzzle that has a tight fit, you wouldn’t be able to lift it off the table without it falling apart, so they do separate easily when lifted.

The 100 large country cards measure about 9.1 cm x 13.7 cm (3 5/8″ x 5 3/8”). Each card has a map of the country, information, its capital, a “fun fact”, the country’s flag, a scenery picture, “Did you know”, currency, area in thousands of square miles, population, official language(s) and “must visit” tourist area.The puzzle pieces are sturdy and fit together nicely. The side of each piece varies from about 3.5 cm to 7 cm (1.5″ to 2.5″), depending on the tabs. Once completed, the puzzle is about the same size as the reference map, 17.3″ x 11.5″ (43.9 cm x 29.2 cm).I think this is a good way for kids to learn about the world and get an idea of where countries are in relation to their own country. I like the country cards to be able to learn about each country while putting the map puzzle together.
