  1. Best thing ever for a traveling family
We travel a lot with our now 19 month old. He’s a good sleeper but is used to having all sleep in a blackout room by himself. We always try and find places where he can have his own room but, economically, it just doesn’t always work out. We have a lot of family cottage trips this summer where we all have to share a room so we figured we would try this out- WHAT A GAME CHANGER!We are finally able to share a (not at all blackout) room as a family and have our son sleep peacefully with no distractions. We’ve used this successfully 3 times now and will continue to!PROS:- very blackout- pockets for sound machine/ camera/ fan on both the top and sides- well made- compact size to travel with and fairly small even when assembled (not much bigger that a pack and play and not too tall)CONS- the poles are tricky to get into place in a tight space. Not impossible but definitely not “easy”. If in a spacious room, no problems at all!- although the fabric is breathable, it still tends to get quite warm/ stale air inside. I recommend a fan inside one of the pockets if you’re in rooms without good airflow or a small space.- although the fabric, zippers, pole are well made – the footing for the poles gets a lot of tension. The stitching is already pulling away from what foot and will need to be reinforced soon. All in all – SO worth it! My son actually loves hanging out inside like it’s his own little personal space.

  2. I Wish I Bought This Sooner
We had a tough time putting our 3 month old daughter down for naps when we were out and about at other people’s houses. We were told about the slumber pod by a friend and we decided to spend the money and see how it went. This product is a game changer for naps times. It is easy to set up, completely black out, has pouches to hold sound machine, camera, fan, etc. We are going camping a lot this summer and this will be perfect. The cost up front is a little high but trust me, it’s worth the investment. The slumber pod saved our sanity when it came to naps on the go.

  3. Great blackout crib tent
This blackout tent is the best. We needed it for cottage trips where the blinds aren’t good / there were no blinds (used on a porch). It worked like a charm and the baby slept till 7am no issues! Took him a couple sleeps (eg one night and one nap) to get used to it but then he was fine. It has good ventilation (we left them all open) and he didn’t seem too hot in there or anything when he woke up. Note it’s not really supposed to go over a full size crib so it looks stretched in the pics but it is a stretchy material and worked totally fine. Would fit properly over a pack n play.

  4. Great but pricey
I purchased this item for travelling with my baby. I wanted to create a dark space for him to sleep in while we were still sharing the same hotel room.1. I found it easy and straight forward to assemble2. Easy to compress it and it all goes into small portable carry bag3. You can put the slumber tent over your playpen/crib – make sure you see the dimensions of your playpen/crib first.4. It creates 100% blackout5. Theres a zip down window if you want to peek in6. Theres an area in the top to place your baby monitor if you need to7. The material is breathableThe only con is the price. It is pricey. However, if your baby needs a separate dark space, this definitely does the job.

  5. A Travel Game-Changer for Baby Sleep!
The SlumberPod is a must-have travel essential for parents with babies or toddlers. We used it on a recent trip, and it made a huge difference. The tent creates a perfectly dark, cozy environment, blocking out distractions that usually disrupt naps and bedtime.Setup was surprisingly easy—it takes just a few minutes, and it folds down small enough to fit in our suitcase. However, the ventilation is can issue, and airflow was a problem for us.If you’re traveling with a little one or just need better sleep at Grandma’s house, this is worth every penny! Stress-free naps = happy parents!

  6. Just do it!
I was on the fence about this purchase for a very long time, it felt excessive. However, it is very worth it if you are traveling and will be sharing a room with your child. I say this because it frees you up to live your life in the room and not be nap trapped. We put the sound machine by the crib and the baby monitor in the top slot – it was the perfect solution! Nap time can be a time of family rest, collectively, however it realistically a time to get some things done or just have some alone time. The first day we got to our destination, I hadn’t set this up and my 8 month old only napped for 45 minutes. The second day, I had set this up and he slept for 2 hours. It really helps remove distractions and provide that consistent dark environment needed for uninterrupted sleep.I do recommend washing it prior to use and it does have a smell, not bad just I would have washed it first had I had time (you can’t put it in the dryer), so plan ahead!

  7. Great for home and travel!
We bought this for our newborn as we live in a condo with lots of windows and light. The tent easily fits over our basinet and now the baby minicrib. We also brought it with us on a trip to Europe, which gave us the option to use it in hotels and airbnbs where they already had a crib setup.

  8. Was Sent a Used/Previously Opened SlumberPod
I have yet to actually try out this product, as I just received this today, but was quite disheartened to open the box and find that the one I was sent had been previously used. We need this for an upcoming trip, so I don’t have time to return/exchange, but am majorly bummed that I’m going to have to set up a used product when paying for it to be new. The seal had clearly been previously opened, as there was debris under the sticker on the box. The material of the SlumberPod has fuzz and dirt all over, the camera pouch has visible smear marks, and the SlumberPod branding has discolouration and/or staining. Really disappointing 🙁

  9. *Update*I reached out to the seller regarding the hole. They responded withon a day. After providing some information and the photos, they are sending a replacement._______Right out of the box, this product looked very promising and indeed can be pretty compact for travel. The instructions were attached to the travel bag, so I appreciate that they won’t get easily lost and anyone should be able to read and assemble. The instructions were easy enough to understand, but getting the other end of the pole in the end cap/slot can be a bit tricky and might be easier with two people. I found it easier to assemble in a more open area, due to the poles being so long, and then just placing it over the pack-and-play (PnP).Upon assembly though, I noticed a small hole on one side. It seems small now, but already, after a few days of use, I can see it will probably get bigger over time assembling and disassembling when we travel, and we travel often. I reached out to the seller in hopes of getting a replacement. But for now, because it works so well in helping my baby stay asleep, I will continue to use until I hear from them.It really does keep it dark in there. Even in front of my south-facing windows, although some light comes through, it’s not enough to cause any issues. The vents are helpful, but we still use a fan in the upper fan pocket to help keep it cool enough when zipped up. Otherwise, it will get hot and stuffy inside. I also like the fact that there is a pocket for a baby monitor. However, the plastic can make it tricky to place. Any wrinkle in it makes it impossible to see past it, so I have to spend quite a bit of time playing with it to get a clear image. But once set up, it’s great to keep an eye on baby.

  10. We have had a summer full of traveling, our youngest has shared a room with us (mom & dad) consistently, even at grandparents & in hotels. At first I was hesitant because of the price, but it is SO worth every single penny. At first it’s a bit overwhelming to assemble, but it gets easier and instructions are in the bag the product comes with! It is sturdy and truly blackout! We used it over a standard crib for a few weeks and while it is a snug fit it does work, although it works perfectly with a mini crib or pack n play! I would recommend this to any family who is going to travel with littles! I love the space for fan and camera as well!

  11. UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER:We have zero regrets with this purchase. My husband was 1000% annoyed with me purchasing this and over this last year has happily admitted he is super grateful I didn’t listen to him and just bit the bullet and purchased this and the hiccapop toddsler bed air mattress. We have had to use this pod while camping, moving across the country in squishy hotel rooms, flying back across the country to visit family, rearrange sleeping areas to accommodate guests, EVEN ON THE BEACH for nap time with the waves as nature’s white noise machine and it has come in clutch every time! We used it for four weeks straight just a month ago and this time with our kids nugget cushions. It stretched over those suckers like magic and when we put it away, it bounced back to retain its shape and wasn’t stretched out! Our toddler is much bigger and much more active than he was a year ago when we first bought this and I’m shocked how tough the zipper is with how much he and my older kids jump in and out of it and land on the open doorway and open and close the zipper. That price tag is still a major con for anyone living on a budget, but if you can make payments on it or find a used one, you won’t regret it!!!••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••High five to Amazon for getting this to me two days early right at nap time for our first day of construction at home! Kids rooms are first, so everyone is sleeping with mom and this arrived just in time!Pros:1. Super soft stretchy material makes it easy to work with putting it over a Hiccapop inflatable toddler bed. I setup our pack-n-play and my toddler’s head and feet touched the top and bottom length wise. I legit had just set it up when this and our Hiccapop inflatable toddler bed arrived at the door just a few minutes later! It fit perfectly over the bed, just had to stretch it over. The stretchy jersey knit fabric plus the open base and tent poles made that easy and didn’t compromise the pod.2. The net for the fan and the clear plastic pocket for the baby cam are both super easy to access at the top of the pod.3. You don’t need to buy the fan/pod combo, you can put any small fan in the mesh pouch as it is not a special shape, just a generic pouch.4. Easy setup. If you’ve ever set up a tent before, you will find this easy and self explanatory. The instructions are on the carrying case that comes with it. I didn’t use the pack-n-play to set up, just did it on the floor like I would a tent.Cons:1. That price tag is pretty hefty. While I’m happy with the purchase, I still cringe when I think of how much I spent on it. I took the plunge due to how many friends said it was worth it.2. It’s pretty warm inside, so if you’re not in a cool room, no fan is going to keep it cool, you might just have to keep the window part unzipped and open to get air in.

  12. My son will only sleep when it’s dark for his naps. This a must have for those sunny days and you aren’t at home. We place it over his pack and play and fits perfectly. There is a bit of an odd smell when first used. Very strong! Was a little worried about using it but eventually it went away. Easy to install and break down and comes with a great sack to keep it all together

  13. I bought this for when we travel and stay in a hotel with our son. He is four months old and going through a major sleep regression so I’ll do anything to help him/us get some extra z’s. We used this for the first time last night and LET ME TELL YOU, I’m SHOCKED. He slept through the night for the first time EVER. I may need one to put over my whole home. Incredible incredible. I was a little thrown off by the metal poles at first thinking they would not bend, but it was so simple to put together.
