The puzzles are good quality – the wooden pieces are thick and sturdy enough to withstand a bit of rough handling by toddlers, they fit together easily, and there are no rough edges. The pictures are very brightly coloured and visually stimulating – and, the bright colours will help a child to identify the pieces that make up each of the characters in the pictures. There is also a ‘removeable’ paper copy of the puzzle – it can be found underneath the puzzle. Each jigsaw (excluding the frame) is about 27×19.5 cm, and has 60 pieces – and, because of the number and size of the pieces, I feel they are more suited to 5-6 year olds. The wooden frames double as backing boards to provide a solid surface that makes it easier to press the pieces into place. Once a child has mastered each of the puzzles, you could try mixing 2 or more together to make things more interesting. (Hints: I always add a small box or bag to keep the pieces of each puzzle safely together when not being used. And, you could also add an identifier, e.g., a colour dot) to the back of all the pieces of each puzzle, so that they’re easier to sort when the puzzles become mixed together.)The price of the puzzles at the time of ordering was £24.99, which works out at £4.17 each – the set would make a great gift.

We have been in a puzzle frenzy at our house with my three year old grandson, ESPECIALLY dinosaur puzzles. This is our second set of dinosaur puzzles, and this one has a larger number of pieces so it’s more challenging for him. We do them everyday! I love that he loves doing them because he learns patience and concentration amongst other things. I was a little worried at first because of the number of pieces, but he rose to the challenge and completed the puzzles himself! The puzzles are so colorful and fun and the pieces are sturdy.
