Sizing Chart:
Use the chart below to determine the best size for your child. For most children, the age and weight would be appropriate. If your child is in between sizes, go with a smaller size for children taller than average, or a larger size for children shorter than average. The reason for this is because the only important parameter in sizing is the diameter of the tube, relative to the diameter of the thumb. Taller children tend to have longer, thinner thumbs, and shorter children tend to have shorter, stockier thumbs. The length of the thumb in the tube does not matter!

Best suited for children with minor habits, as bitter polish can be sucked off and ignored at night. No. These are either home-made solutions or imitation products that have not been clinically tested.
Easy to Clean?
Yes. Can be washed with water and soap, even while worn. Dries quickly. No. Requires washing on cold cycle, followed by air drying. Wet fabric takes a long time to dry, therefore this is a very long cleaning process. This washes off of the thumb with every rinse. No. Fabric based covers require constant cleaning because material soaks up saliva.

Bought this item for my grandchild and it is preventing her sucking her thumb . Will have a better idea in a few more weeks.
Unfortunately did not work
At first this product worked. After 30 days our son had stopped. Unfortunately he started again a couple of months later and figured out how to slip his thumb out and remove the device. It is now cutting off his circulation every time he pulls it off and we had to stop using it. Quite expensive for something they can remove…
T-Guard works. It is a very well designed device that prevent sucking and it is confortable and easy to use. With that said it is not perfect, sizing can be tricky and the kid and specially the extra wrist band are expensive (fortunately we found a way around that). My 4 year old was a full time thumb sucker. Before we bought the guard I measured his thumb and I got a medium according with the chart, looking back I think the small would have been more appropriate. We have been talking a lot about why he should break the habit and I even show him videos of the thumb guard ahead of time. However, I knew that this was going to be a very difficult battle and it occurred to me that Santa may be able to help. My son believe that the guard came from Santa and was delivered to him by the Elf on Thanksgiving with a letter from Santa where he promise a treat every night if he keep it on and extra gift on Christmas day!. This motivation was paramount to the success of the treatment because, with the exception of the first day when he had a hard time, my son was very willing to keep the guard on. Because the device was a little big for him I have to tied as much as possible the wrist band and even then, with enough effort, he could take it off. After 48 hours we were having some sores due to the band. Fortunately, at that point I was able to lose the band and my son never attempted to take the guard off.One of the thing I love the most is that he can do everything including watching and drying his hand with the guard. The direction said to remove the guard once a day but after a few days we decided that wasn’t necessary. We change the wrist band every other day. I am glad that we did that because now I have extra bands, which is good because we are now using the guard at bed time. So far the treatment has been very successful but once in while just before he falls of sleep or when he is waking up he wants to suck. Although, there are not more prices from Santa, my son understand his big accomplishment and he doesn’t want to suck any more and he is happy to put the guard at night.I am very happy we got this product, with the right motivation and this great device breaking the sucking habit was much easier that I ever expected. Worth every penny!!
We bought 1 and my daughter switched thumbs, so we got another, and she started sucking her fingers. Iâm at a loss as to how to help her stop, and over $200 poorer.
Listen! This product worked in 2 days. I got my son to stop sucking his thumb permanently. I love the straps that prevent him from removing it. It came with a little sticker activity to track progress and made it fun. It was comfortable for my son. It didn’t irritate the skin
I have mixed feelings about the thumb guard. Ultimately, it has seemed to be effective and for that I would give it 5 stars. The draw backs were severe enough, however, that I have to deduct 1 star and elaborate. First, the plastic bands that secure the guard in place are very durable and can’t be ripped off, which is great for keeping children from removing the guard. The downside to this is that the plastic is constantly rubbing the child’s wrist in the same spot, day after day, and created a lot of irritation on my daughter’s wrist. She ended up with blisters and raw spots from the band rubbing in the same spots over and over. I had to start putting bandaids on her wrist first before securing the band in place. 2nd, even with washing with soap and water, the guard changed colors and began to look unhygienic and even carry a slight odor that I couldn’t get to go away no matter how I tried. 3rd, my daughter stopped sucking her thumb but began chewing on the plastic guard instead. The top of the guard is pretty rough from her chewing in it instead of sucking her thumb.She wore the guard for 30 days and though I worried about how she would do with it, she did a pretty good job of understanding the purpose it serves and why she needed it. We just took it off and left it off for the first time 2 days ago and she hasn’t sucked her thumb once since then. She also really enjoyed the star chart that came with it and is looking forward to the reward she chose.All in all, it seems to have been effective, but at the expense of putting my daughter through some pain where the skin was rubbed away on her wrist. Invest in some gauze or wrapping to protect your child’s wrist before securing the band in place and you should be fine.
The design and concept is very well thought out. We tried it on our 3 year old and finally he forgot his thumb sucking habit. The only drawback is the straps has to be tight which makes their little hands have some scratches- but we covered the strap portion which touched the skin with so much tape that he didnât get any scratches.
