Runs both on batteries! Great for camping!
FINALLY! I finally found a baby monitor that can take batteries on both units! I got it in the mail next day right in time for our camping trip! Only comes with 3 rechargeable batteries, wish it came with two sets but either way I’m so happy I don’t have to worry about not hearing my baby. 3 regular triple AAA batteries will hold about 5-6 hours in both units. While the chargeable ones in the parent unit lasted me 7+ hours in total. The range is excellent as well! And still comes with two cords to plug in when you don’t need batteries!
Good audio monitor
Bought these to have a battery operated monitor for camping. Charged them when we first got the package and everything seemed to work ok. Took forever to charge so figured the battery would last a good long time. When we took them out for camping, the batteries were dead. UPDATE: Seller contacted me and wanted to fix the issue. They sent me new rechargeable batteries and that fixed the issue. Now it holds a charge and works well. Thanks!
Useless – cannot use without batteries, or at all for that matter…
I bought this in July of 2022 for a camping trip. It worked for the weekend with batteries installed and plugged in, except we couldn’t go to our friends campsite across the road because the range would not reach. That was fine, I understood. Nbd, now we know. Came back from trip, took the batteries out and stored away in its case.Went to use it about a month later when my MIL was watching my son over night, and we tried setting it up without batteries, and just plugged in. We’ll, we tried fiddling with it for an hour, and couldn’t figure it out, so we ended up getting a screwdriver, opening up the battery compartment and putting the batteries back in the parent unit, (not the baby one) and leaving both units plugged in. My MIL told me baby stated crying and the unit didn’t go off. Thought it might have been a user error on her part and she didn’t have sound up or something.Well I just tried using it again making sure it works for my MIL again since she’s watching baby this weekend. Nope. I tried plugging them in, with no batteries and didn’t work. I tried plugging them in with batteries, didn’t work. I tried turning it on with batteries and not plugged in and didn’t work. The parent unit started vibrating and would not stop and said “30C” which I assure you- my house is not 30C as I live in Canada and its winter. I’ve been trying to fiddle with it for an hour now and cannot figure out what the heck is going on or why…. maybe a faulty unit? Idk. I really want to love this unit as we go camping lots in summer and needed something for when my MIL watches my son. But I paid over $50 to use one time, and since I bought 3 months ago, I cannot return now….I am hoping the seller sees this and is able to help me and maybe send another unit in hopes this is faulty.
Powerful baby monitor
Powerful monitor! Took it to the cottage which has two houses (20m away from each other) and worked very well. My baby slept soundly in her room in the quiet house while we had fun in the noisy entertainment house :). The sound quality is pretty good, no background noise. My baby loves the lullaby and my old one loves its cute shape. It’s very convenient to have two chargers and the power bank. We are very happy with the purchase, it has everything we ask for a baby monitor. Bonus – It even worked as a walkie-talkie when we went for hiking! The claimed working distance is ~3km, we’ll definitely try that next time :).
Awesome baby monitors for camping without 120v electrical hoookups.
We bought this baby monitor to use when we go camping and can’t use our regular baby monitors due to not having 120v power hookups. This is very hard to find in a baby monitor. These work great as both the parent and the baby unit can run off of batteries or off of a 12 volt power supply. We have a USB outlet in our trailer so we plug the baby unit into that for constant power. We also use this same USB outlet to charge the parent unit during the day and then run on batteries outside the trailer at nap time or late in the evenings. The baby monitor has a very long range (longer than our high quality 120volt video baby monitor), allows for the parent to talk to the baby unit, remotely turn on a night light on the baby unit, monitor the temperature around the baby unit, and play music to the baby unit. It also pleasantly lowers the volume that parent unit generates until it hears a sound and then increases the volume on the parent unit. We find this very nice as we often have white noise going in the trailer to help our kids sleep but we don’t really want to hear it on the parent unit. The parent unit also will vibrate when a sound is made if you turn the volume down completely. All in all, this is the perfect baby monitor for camping and at a great price! Highly recommend.
Pretty good but low quality
The monitor set works pretty good although the audio quality for the music option it plays is really low quality and sounds bad, so we never use it. They feel like theyâre made of cheap plastic so not Iâm not sure how long theyâll last. Iâve been using them for several months now and the charge port on one of the units isnât working very good anymore, you have to hold the charge cord at an angle so that it makes a connection and actually charges. The charge cord themselves are very low quality- very stiff plastic that doesnât bend well. Overall they are decent value for the price but certainly not a high quality product
I have been using this product for about a week.Dog likes to be outside during cool weather and I like to be inside, but I need to be able to hear when he is barking excessively. Though not intended for outdoor use, I place the transmitter in a plastic Sterlite box near him, and it works perfectly! Even during rain showers.I searched and searched and did not find another product that is battery operated on both units. Battery lasts through the night. If near electrical outlet, units will operate during battery recharging; if not, attach a USB portable charger for continued functioning during recharge. The battery charging lights seem a bit quirky. With both units powered off and charging:The transmitter’s indicator light turns from RED to UNLIT after battery is fully-charged.The receiver’s light turns from RED to FLASHING GREEN to SOLID GREEN after after battery is fully-charged.Temperature gauge is off/cooler by at least 10°F. It’s okay, easy to add 10.Too bad there is not a way to disable the vibrate function. During the night it is great to wake me, but not needed otherwise, and a bit annoying at times.I rather it did not have the night light function. It is easy to accidently turned it on and not realize it. Obviously, it depletes the battery faster.Dog can be in his yard on either side of the house. I can carry the receiver around the house with me. Range is good enough through walls. Beep indicates when I happen to move out of range (large yard and house). The portability of these units is exactly what I needed. Works especially well for us. Because elderly dog is not very mobile, he does not wander out of range. He barks because he is working or needs assistance. I hear him. Makes us happy.
Really love these baby monitors. They are super loud, super clear, and super sensitive. The parent and child pack both have the option for batteries. Both come with charging wires, but it only came with one outlet port, so I have to buy an extra (no big deal, just a bit annoying). Plays Simon and Garfunkel the Sound of Silence as one of the many songs it plays which was weird and funny at the same time. I just imagine my daughter taking in the darkness that is napping to the song. It makes me giggle regularly. I was very happy to find this is the best audio monitor I’ve interacted with. I got the penguin one with the temperature monitor in it, and it has been very helpful as my daughter’s room changes on its own frequently. My only downside is the monitor is supposed to beep ever 30 regularly when the temp is too low or too high, but mine just beeps once. Other then that, I live them.UPDATE : After owning this thing for a couple weeks I have to say this is honestly the best baby monitor I’ve interacted with. This thing has great range, is Crystal clear with sound, and super sensitive. I was very skeptical about getting an audio only monitor as they tend to suck, but this thing, especially the temp being displayed, makes me feel so at ease. I like that the audio drops when there is no movement (she is asleep) but the second it heard anything it pops on. My baby doesn’t cry when she wakes, mostly she talks lightly to herself, and this thing picks her up beautifully. Seriously… Get this monitor, I swear you won’t regret it. I changed this from 4 stars to 5 after owning it a bit longer. It’s great
I really want to love these, Theyâre such a cute style!! But so far in the few days Iâve noticed the battery doesnât last long when charged fully (which is typically fine but I bought battery ones for a reason-I didnât want to have it be plugged in all the time but thatâs not the case, I figured battery operated should/would last longer but I guess rechargeable ones are different than normal batteries?!?!) there was also a moment that I had where the receiver wouldnât turn on for some reason when it was fully charged, but then it turned on after I gave it a few minutes and tried again……the other thing it does, may be some kinda feature idk about, but it goes silent and then randomly starts sound again. (We consistently play music in our kids rooms at a good volume, so it should detect noise all the time) also u canât turn off the night light. soooo Iâm so ify about these, going to try it for rest of month and may return or exchange maybe I got a dud! I will update! If they were cheaper Iâd keep it and deal with it but I donât think itâs worth $40! Maybe more like $20-25 max.
I wanted to love this baby monitor. In fact, I DID love it for a few weeks! It checked all the boxes particularly that both sides are battery operated making it the ideal option for camping without electric hook ups.I especially love how the white noise would fade when there was no new noise on the baby end so you do not have to hear the constant wooshing of the babyâs noisemaker in the room. But alas, it seems that all good things come to an end.It was not long before the port to charge the monitor started to short out. Itâs the same garbage as kindles. Those USB CHARGING ports are not made to last. I donât expect there to be a problem if you do not daily unplug and plug back in the monitor but we love to be outside in the yard playing (older kids play, I watch) whike baby naps but obviously I want to have my monitor right in my pocket to hear the moment she stirs. Sadly after about 1 month of near daily plugging/unplugging the monitor, it couldnât keep up. Thankfully I was able to return it but now I have the difficult job of deciding if Iâm going to try again or not⦠.
I’ve had the monitor 4 days. It started loosing range on day 3. I can’t go as far from the base unit as I could the first 2 days. Even though the temp displays and the on light is lit, there’s no sound when I’m in certain rooms. After 90 minutes of extreme quietness, I pressed volume to hear what was going on and nothing happened. I talked in it, no response, no sound. I walked 20 feet closer to the base and everything was fine.I had the same problem with the Camry model but it didn’t loose range until I was past the return period. This is my 5th monitor from the various iterations of this brand since January 2017. I went through 2 of these when they were Bambeego/Bundle Tumble and more recently, TimeFlys’ Camry and Crown. Even though they didn’t last long, they have the features I want and the range was was pretty good on my first, second and fourth units. I could use them anywhere in my house and part of my yard. Fortunately, this one stopped working well before the return window closed. I’m not sure what I’ll try next. I had 2 Willcare and 2 Vtec units but they leave much to be desired. I have a working Willcare that I keep for backup but I don’t like it enough to use regularly. Whatever I get will be my 10th monitor in 4 years. The only thing I’m 100% sure of is that it won’t last long. I’ll be glad if I get 6 months of use from it.
