This thing is terrific! The vegetables are cute as heck, as are the animals and farmer. Loads of colours, and there’s a tonne of thought that went into matching the vegetables with the hole sizes on the top.It’s entertaining to try to match the animal shapes with the holes on the side, and the animals (and farmer) are 2-sided! That last detail was really cool to me. The included play mat is some kind of synthetic fabric, so it will actually lie (mostly) flat when you unfold it unlike the plastic sheets that come with so many other inexpensive toys.As for the cart itself, it appears to be nicely built and the wheels turn without any issues, and everything fits inside for easy storage. The paint seems to be relatively durable, too, so it should hold up to kids.The animals and farmer are nicely finished, but I did have a few whose edges were a little scratchy. No splinters or anything like that, just some roughness. The base coat on the vegetables is nice and sturdy, but I did notice that the faces are painted on top of that and don’t appear to have an additional varnish (there was a small amount of dirt on one of mine, which I rubbed off with my thumb and some of the black paint on the eyes and smile wore off). Not a deal-breaker, but worth mentioning.Overall, this thing is absolutely worth picking up!

This set is utterly adorable, while also being a fantastic learning toy for young ones. It is rated for 12 months + which seems about right to me.The set comes with the sturdy wooden farm cart that holds all of the little animals, the little farmer dude, and all of the different vegetables, all of which are themselves very very cute and all of which are also made of wood! There is no doubt as to the sturdiness of all of the pieces.There is a little farmer dude, as mentioned, along with a pig, a cow, a dog, a cat, a frog, a chick, a duck, a bunny, a lamb, and a pony. They are all painted with such adorable details that are sure to appeal to parents as well as the little one. These characters can all be fitted into cut out shapes on the sides of the wagon as a way of teaching hand/eye coordination among other things. For example, the frog and the duck fit into shapes on one side that has a pond scene painted on it, which draws the connection between water and these particular animals, while another side holds the chick and the bunny in more of a meadow scene, drawing those connections.The veggies include a carrot, peanut, beet, strawberry, mushroom, and several more and each one of these can be fitted into one of the circles in the top of the wagon (which is kind of like a raised garden bed when in use) with their “tops” above ground and their “roots” below ground, so to speak. The top of the wagon is all brown on one side (when stored) but has a garden scene painted on the other side (when in use) with little characters sticking up that I think represent cute little earthworms sticking their heads up from the ground.The whole wagon has wheels that are actually on an axle so the wheels turn and the whole thing can be rolled along the floor for even more imaginative fun.And there is a nice sized play mat that goes with this set that is approximately 16 x 20, made of washable fabric, with a very cute farm scene on it, including barns, pathways, chicken coops, trees, country fences, ponds, and animals. This is also a great piece for the imagination of a little one to go wild, and it can be used with the wagon and all of the characters on top of it.When play time is over, everything fits nicely inside the wagon, and with the top piece turned upside down, it is also flat and a plain colour as shown in the first photo attached.All in all, this is a fantastic learning toy for a young one and I have no reservations about recommending it. I think that any little one will have so much fun with this that they won’t even realize that they are simultaneously learning a ton!
Many Modes of Learning, Charming, and Beautifully Made
So much to do on the farm! Pick vegetables, match the animals to their entrance in the cart and then drive them around the house, find out what types of accommodation each farm animal likes to live in or make up stories about the animals and have them go to visit each other on the map.How many toys can you buy where you can pluck a peanut out of the ground?There are so many modes of learning with this outstanding toy. There is the social aspect of playing with the little animals, manual dexterity development from manipulating the wooden pieces into the holes and using memory to find the holes for your plants and animals. The cart itself is a sturdy little vehicle that promotes crawling around, not just being sedentary.This is a very solid play set, beautifully made, and just as cute as can be. All the animals look very sweet but the vegetables are not to be overlooked. Most of them are very happy but the red onion is crying and that pineapple is definitely up to something. Not to be trusted, that pineapple. Even the worms are cute!The cart, the plants, the animals, and the farmer are all made of a solid hardwood, probably maple (not MDF, not veneer). The wood on my cart looked much nicer in person than it did in the pictures. All the plants and animals are painted to a smooth, soft finish in bright, beautiful colours. There are no sharp corners.I hadnât realized when I ordered this that the map was fabric. Itâs lightweight polyester with a lovely soft sheen. I also hadnât looked at the map carefully enough to realize that the animals on it are purposefully made to look similar to the wooden ones provided in the set. This makes them easier to match for a very young child. The map shows animals other than the ten wooden ones represented in the set including cute mice and a at least two types of birds. Something about each animalâs lifestyle is also there for conversation: the pig is rolling in the mud, the chicken has eggs in nests and foraging chicks outside, and the duck and its duckling like to live near the water so they can swim in the pond. The map will come crinkled but it can easily be ironed on the lowest setting to become perfectly smooth.Although this is designed for babies and toddlers, even a 6 year old would still have fun playing with the little animals.Everything stores nicely in the box so you can take the set with you anywhere and keep your little one entertained for hours. My only suggestion is that they must add a female farmer as well in addition to the little guy they already have. A second human character would also promote the opportunity for two children to play more easily when both assuming the role of farmer.At $33 (excluding any discounts or coupons you might get), itâs outstanding value given its play value, quality materials, durability, and its likelihood of being passed down from one child to another because of all of the above reasons.Having now reviewed quite a few toys, this is probably my favourite. Itâs a great toy for keeping at grandparentsâ houses so there will always be something to play with and something for the grandparents to discuss with their favourite little people.
Nice toy, loved by our grandchildren for the shapes and colors. However, the animal characters DO NOT fit well into their cutouts along the sides of the box. The cut outs are all the way through, and the pieces don’t stay put. They fall inside or outside the box, so we don’t use it like a puzzle. The vegetables on top do stay put in their holes as shown on the product photograph.

Great value. The wooden parts are brightly colored and durable. Easy to wipe clean. A fun way for your little one to learn about vegetables and plants while improving their fine motor skills. Size makes it perfect for little hands, compact for storing away easily. My granddaughter is 11 months old and loves playing with it.

Great quality, the child loves it and has been playing with it constantly. It was for my friend’s 12 month old daughter, but the parents are having a great time interacting with her with the toy!
