I’m a follower from the author on instagram, and let me tell you, she is so intelligent, and her posts are so adorable. When I saw she made a book, I instantly went to buy it. The layout is beautiful and most importantly it’s the truth about how to manage toddlers. Some books just give old outdated information that you can’t relate, but not this book. I love the thicker pages, the illustrations and colors- it’s so cute! But besides that, It’s going to help me so much, I can see it. I have a 3 yr old and a new baby, and the next baby will greatly benefit from me knowing ahead of time. Thank you for a wonderful book.
I love the posts I see in Dr.Cathryn Instagram and ordered the book. The content is really helpful, aiding in seeing parenting in different perspective. But the presentation is very poor and hard on eyes. Very different to read in book due to less opacity in color.
I just got the book yesterday and I’m already halfway through. I love how easy of a read it is and I think it’ll be a perfect reference guide to to constantly refer to. I love Dr Becky Kennedy, however her book is very dense and nuanced so I like how this book is straight to the point and explains things in a very digestible manner. So far I’m finding that Dr Tobin’s approach and practices are very similar to Dr Becky Kennedy’s as well!
The book about toddler is focused on children ages between 2 and 4 years old. It is nicely laid out in lots of short sections making each topic easy to digest.The core of the book is to try and see things from your toddlers perspective and not to expect behaviour from them that they are not yet developed enough to perform. There is also an emphasis on self care as a parent, which allows you to a better mental state to tackle toddler behaviour.It is a good book, especially for those who want to parent their child in a way that fosters more cooperation with children rather than adversary. The author calls it being a ‘Big Hearted Family’.
I like the simple and straightforward approach to this book. It’s a big topic which many, many people have commented upon and most parents will have already done some research into. I didn’t find anything in this book to be too controversial or groundbreaking, but I did like the way that it was presented and it makes it easy to digest the information.When it comes to parents saying there’s no such thing as too much help, and there’s always more to learn. So this is a good resource, and I would recommend it to any parent.
