I never thought I’d fall in love with a coat rack…
I moved into a small condo, and while I have a coat closet, it’s sort of awkwardly located, and really used mostly for storage. Also, I tend to be a bit messy, and if I can’t hang up my coat the second I walk in the door, it’s going to wind up draped over a chair or something.I assembled this lovely piece in about, oh, three minutes. I’ve got two winter coats, scarves and a couple of purses hanging on it, and trust me, it’s not falling over. This thing is STURDY. And, it looks really nice.I balked a bit at the price, but now that I have it, it’s worth every penny.
All the elements of great form, function and design
We purchased this rack to keep towels within easy reach when exiting our hot tub. I love the black walnut combination. The design is tasteful with 9 aluminum hooks that flip down when you want to use them, or tuck away seamlessly for a sleek look when not in use. I appreciate the heaviness â itâs around 20 pounds â that offers good stability.It was wrapped nicely to protect the components. You simply twist the first piece into the base and then twist in the next two pieces and voila you have your coat / towel rack (I appreciated that no tools were required for assembly)While the pieces donât match absolutely identically (ie. you canât match up the wood grain lines between the three sections), this is hardly noticeable unless you’re closely examining it. It’s a quality coat rack, attractive and functions well, so I’m really happy with this purchase.Given the colour choices, Iâm guessing you could find one to match almost any décor. The black walnut fits very well with a modern or contemporary décor. Pictures to follow. I hope my review and pictures are helpful to others.
Sturdy and attractive design
I actually saw this at homesense (for $139) but it was the white and metal colour and I didnât like the look. I jumped on here to see how much of a price difference it was and saw more colours so got the gray one! For an extra $30Not worth me spray painting the other one. Love the base as it slides under my bench- I canât do any hangers that have feet. Perfect purchase. Umbra is good quality.

Very sturdy, balanced, stylish, takes up little room, and very easy to put together. Found the arms could easily hold a heavy coat. Has a good base.
Great Rack!
This is a great rack & is perfect for what I needed it for. I do not have a closet near the entrance way of my home so coats, purses & backpacks ended up on the table or the backs of the dining room chairs. This was super easy to assemble. No tools required. I do think the product is quite pricey for what it is but the quality seems to be there. I do recommend!

Really fantastic coat rack! I love the design and that it was so easy to assemble was wonderful. It is sturdy and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for both function and fashion. I think a second one might be in order for my bedroom!
Happy with it
We have a small house & storage is a challenge. I love the coat rack, specifically the fact that the hooks are able to be opened & closed when you are not using it & it looks lovely.
Very sturdy
Perfect! I needed to replace our coat rack because the one we had kept tipping over… this one is so sturdy I do not have to worry about it at all! It was a bit pricey but as with most things, you get what you pay for and I have no regrets.
This is honestly one of my favorite things in my home. I love Umbraâs designs and this was worth the splurge. Itâs sleek, but heavy and stands steadily with many winter coats and bags on it. Flipping up the unused hooks is such a great feature. Highly functional and looks lovely.

Al fin y al cabo un perchero tiene poca tecnologÃa, pero puede tener mucho impacto en el aspecto del espacio que ocupa.Lo compramos para la entrada de casa y estamos plenamente satisfechos. El diseño es moderno, funcional y robusto. El perchero llega empaquetado de manera compacta al estar dividido en 3 secciones, pero una vez montado no se aprecian las juntas y el aspecto es totalmente premium. Muy satisfechos con la compra.

We zochten een stevige, moderne vrijstaande kapstok omdat we niet in de muur mochten boren, met een niet te volumineuze voet wegens de kleine kantoorruimte, maar eentje die desondanks stevig genoeg is om het gewicht van een zwaar motorjack te kunnen dragen. De Umbra Flapper voldeed aan al deze verwachtingen. De voet is maar een 40-tal cm. We kochten de versie wit/blank rubberhout, en dat sloot prachtig aan bij het bureau in blank rubberhout dat ernaast staat. Ingeklapte haken of uitgeklapt, het blijft een mooi en functioneel meubelstuk! Heel makkelijk ook zonder vijzen in elkaar te draaien, in 1-2-3.Zou het direct weer kopen.
