  1. Perfect for Small Spaces – Works Like a Charm!
I bought this Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier for my baby’s room, and it’s been fantastic. It’s compact and filter-free, which makes it super easy to maintain. The ultrasonic mist is quiet, so it doesn’t disturb sleep, and it really helps keep the air comfortable during dry seasons. It’s easy to fill and runs for a good amount of time before needing a refill. I noticed an improvement in both my baby’s breathing and my own! If you need a small, efficient humidifier for a nursery or bedroom, I highly recommend this one.

  2. Works Great!
I purchased 2 for the bedrooms. They work great and are perfect in the the colder months when the heat comes on and the air gets dry. They make the air quality in the room so much better and more comfortable. They were shipped promptly and recieved with no issues.

  3. Not loud at all, does the job!
So far so good. value for money and keeps my room nice and cozy. It did leak a little water at first but stopped after 5 mins.

  4. Works perfectly
I moved to a home that is surprisingly dry as we head into colder months. I couldn’t stop getting nosebleeds, cracked skin, and coughing from dry throat. This humidifier works so well! Very quickly gets moisture into the whole room but without it being too much or causing any water damage anywhere. I’m so impressed. Sound isn’t too bad at all. Great white noise for sleeping. Pretty easy to clean, as the bottom hole where you put the water in is big enough to fit a hand. Super easy to use with just the dial you can turn to adjust how much moisture. Absolutely no leaks anywhere. I have it on my wooden table and have left it on for hours overnight with no issues or leaking. Seriously great. Highly recommend.

  5. Delivered promptly. Works great.
Should have a larger tank…to last longer. However works great. Keeps our 300 sq foot bedroom humidified to appropriate % overnight.

  6. A humidifier should be a basic human right in an ultra-dry climate
Having moved to Calgary, Alberta from Victoria, BC, my wife and I weren’t exactly ready for that most catastrophic of events: THE DRY-ENING. Cracked hands, snake skin roughness, the works. Saying that, I’m a guy who HATES moisturizers. I don’t know why, but I’m basically the anti Buffalo Bill. It never puts the lotion on its skin, or else it’ll feel icky and gross again. Seriously, ugh. I HATES IT. And the cost? Paying for bottle after bottle in a never-winning war against the forces of dryness? No thanks.Like a genius, I decided that I could outmanliness the terrible climate here and instead suffered three years of flaky eyebrows, dry throats waking me up in the middle of the night, and cracked lips making water taste like a life-affirming elixir… which it is. I’ve had other humidifiers in the past. You remember them. Hulking, unpleasantly contoured monstrosities whose filter you were too lazy to remove, so it inevitably became disgusting (and god forbid, moldy). Yeah, those ones. I had two over the years. They were loud and annoying. That’s why I finally bit the bullet, did some research, and found that the Vicks VUL520WC Filter-Free humidifier was likely a good purchase. Fortunately, the Amazon reviews steered me right. I love this thing. I bought two for a 720ish square foot basement suite. One for my long living room and one for my bedroom. Immediately, after purchasing, I didn’t wake up in the middle of the night having to open my horrifically bright fridge for a drink of icy water. My throat was magically… not dry. What’s the word for that? It’s been so many years since I’ve uttered it…………… Moisture!!! Riiiiiiiiiight. One of the big reasons I bought the Vicks is that changing the water seemed stupid easy, and it is. Plug the top with your finger or thumb, flip it, carry it to the sink, uncork, fill it up, back to the base, flip it over. Done. No weird filling issues, no odd balance, no spilly crap. Just grab, fill, and breathe in that sweet, sweet water vapour like the nose candy it is.A couple other points. Being in Calgary, I haven’t noticed any accumulation of mineral dust, which is great. The instructions recommend that you clean weekly with a little vinegar mixed with water (filling the tank like normal) and then gently wiping with a cloth or paper towel any hard-water residue. Easy peazy. If you’re lazy like me, you can simply wait until you see any hard-water buildup before cleaning it. Needless to say, I’ve got a 4L of white vinegar with the Vicks name on it.I also have it right next to me when I’m sleeping. I am a super light sleeper, but I do sleep with a fan for the white noise. The Vicks is pretty quiet overall, and I actually find the mild water noises soothing. The lower you turn the dial, the less noise it makes, so I’m sure anyone could make it work even if it’s next to your bed on a night stand like mine is. I like to keep it at 3/4 power in the evening, though, just to make sure there’s enough water left in the chamber by morning.FYI, I didn’t bother using the Vicks odor packet for its aromatic hippy dipiness. I want moisture, not some new-age yogi, barista, hipster laden opium-den. Like, can you taste the flowers in mother nature’s air, brother RosebudUnicornPony? No, but if I wanted to, I’d probably buy an aromatic machine, not a humidifier that can allegedly do it all.I know. I know. You’re like, “Amazon review dude, enough with the hyperbolic crap. Should I buy this thing or what?”Bottom line: Yes. There’s a reason I’ve given it 5 stars. I’ve only been using my Vicks’ for a week, but I’d definitely buy them again. They’re hassle-free, easy to clean, and simply controlled. The unit isn’t too big, meaning you can probably find a spot for it wherever. The misting effect keeps my cats watching it like a fish tank without fish (I have dumb cats), and I get 6 hours of rain forest mist out of a full tank on the MAX setting. When I go to sleep, I fill the chamber, turn it on 3/4 and still have about 1/4 of the tank filled with water by the time I wake up. And guess what… no sore throat. VICTORY OVER SOAR THROATS IS MY DOMINION. MWA HA HA HA. Ha. I’d cough as one should after a maniacal laugh, but you know, moist throat and all. Also, my hands are less dry. Victory over that… and stuff. If anything goes wrong, I’ll happily update.01/25/2016 Edit : A few weeks in, and the fan beside my bed has acquired a light coating of white mineral dust. Compared to the snow outside, it was a tiny amount of white powder. Fortunately, it came off easily when wiped with a wet paper towel. And my skin is still thanking me.02/02/2016 Edit: So I lazily avoided cleaning the mineral buildup inside of the humidifier for one month of literally constant use. Not a good idea. A fair bit of interior buildup resulted. The good news is that thanks to the design of the tank, it was fairly easy to clean. Armed with q-tips, vinegar, and a soft cloth, I had the whole thing spotless within an hour (took that long because of soaking time). From now on, I’ll be cleaning it weekly/bi-weekly as per the instruction manual. Stupid manual knowing its product. Still humid, still happy! Happier if my wife never finds out.02/10/2016 Edit: To avoid the lazy mold issue, as well as come up with a better solution for hard water buildup, I bought a couple of cleaning brush sets. I figured since I’ll be saving so much by not buying filters, I can afford to spend an extra $15ish. My brushes work extremely well. Literally search “cleaning brushes” on Amazon, and you get a bunch of applicable products on the cheap. If you find that a soft cloth is good enough, cool. I’m going overkill in the fight for clean, efficient humidity.02/17/2016 Edit: Another fringe benefit of having my humidifiers run 24/7 is that there’s zero static electricity. I currently live in a carpeted basement suite, and I used to shock EVERYTHING from my wife to my cats to my mechanical keyboard. It was brutal. Now, thanks to the humidifiers, I don’t have to touch a lamp or my standing fan before I pet my cats anymore. It’s the little things that impress me. Oh, and no more mold. I’m all over it.03/29/2016 Edit: Still running both every day, 24/7, and they’re performing like new. I’m much more aware of cleaning now. Every two weeks makes it easiest. If you have caked on sheets of mineral build-up, an easy way to break it off is to rub it down with some vinegar and a cloth and then use a butter knife to scrape off the layers. Be careful not to press hulk hard, or you’ll end up scraping the plastic, but it’s an underrated removal tool.12/11/2016 Edit: After storing them for part of the summer, they’re both back out for another winter. I gave them a “just in case” cleaning, and they started up like they’d never stopped.02/04/2017 Edit: After a year, 1 of the units makes a mild buzz when in use. I’ve started using it primarily in my living room, and it’s going almost 8 hours a day. It doesn’t bother me much, but it definitely would if I was sleeping next to it (assuming the fan didn’t provide enough cover). Who knew cheap electronics would develop tics after constant use? I’m still 5 star happy with it.

  7. A lifesaver for winter’s dry air. Provides extra moisture for breathing easy! Use filtered water!
This little dandy provides me with just the right amount of extra moisture in my bedroom. With automatic shutoff, a decent sized tank, and a relatively small footprint, this sits on the corner of my desk, next to my computer, pushing out cool mist . You can dial up the output if needed. The higher the output, the quicker the tank empties. Mine has run for 20 hours on low output. I have a mini humidity gauge to ensure humidity does not go above 50%. I also use filtered water to prolong the life of this little beauty. I have used mine for over a year-bought another for my Mom and it is running smoothly. I just ordered the bigger one as well. I clean the disc with alcohol and a cotton swab. Clean weekly- I soak the tank sides with 2 cups vinegar, rolling the tank to ensure vinegar sits on each part of tank. I would not use during warmer weather unless in a large room, especially if you live in a humid coastal environment. I highly recommend this little diffuser/humidifier but especially to anyone with respiratory issues worsened by dry air. If yours doesn’t work just take it to a warranty depot-this brand has served me well-most diffusers last 2 years-am hoping my will last longer. (If you get mould appearing in less than a week, it is your home that has mould spores in the air-get an air conditioning machine with UV and a hepa filter)

  8. Works but gets gross pretty fast
Works but it also gets really gross really fast and is hard to clean.
