After years of wrestling with a crib mattress protector and it being even worse when I added a topper, I decided to try this. My gosh. Why didn’t I think of looking for this sooner?! I perfectly fits perfectly over the crib mattress AND topper. Is 100% waterproof, cozy, and the deep pocket sheets I got make for a bed for my baby that I’m actually quite jealous of. It’s amazing. I got it to put all of the old mismatched socks from the bin in it to use as a dog bed. Worked great. Washed easy n easy to wipe down
Machine washable AND dryable is a huge plus!! As others have stated, it is indeed only waterproof on the top and sides, but I don’t think that will be an issue. I suppose large quantities of liquids could soak around the edge and to the bottom if given enough time, though. It’s padded on the top which is a nice touch I guess but I don’t think it makes much of a difference on a foam mattress. I removed a star because it only zips on one end and a little ways down the sides, so it is harder to put on than the one that came with our mattress. And I just gotta add, if you’re shopping for these before you’ve purchased a mattress, just do yourself a favor and don’t get a foam mattress. Then you don’t need to worry about a waterproof layer. Whose idea was it anyway to use a giant sponge as a mattress for the messiest sleepers on earth?? I can’t believe I didn’t realize that before I bought a new mattress for my 3rd.
