I have an old house with the very thick woodwork. Rather than cutting the thick trim I added a thin 1/2 inch piece of wood to the door. If you cant find the right thickness of wood, the rubber bumper that comes with the unit also slides out.Everything was better than advertised. Quality piece and the paint better than expected. Crime has gone up and they keep letting them out. If they do manage to kick the door down, they would have to make enough noise to wake up the dead. Or enough time for me to put my boots on. I dont like their chances.
